	Benson Brass Electric Side Lamp SL193 Original quality, 1920's, brass electric side lamp with the Benson's patented electric switch, all mounted on the circular base with a slim tubular stem. The switch body is impressed with the shield trade mark for 'W.A.S.Benson', although the switch mechanism is long gone. A new brass bulb holder and switch has been fitted and the lamp has been rewired with a three core silk covered flex and a new three pin plug. All has been polished, lacquered and fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. Base 5.75" x 13" total height. Click on photo for larger and other views. Price: £265.00


Benson Copper Kettle On Stand K39* Original quality copper kettle with spirit burner and stand, both the kettle and stand are marked to the underside for the designer "W.A.S. Benson" a leading Arts and Crafts designer of the day. This item was manufactured circa 1880/1900. The copper kettle has a brass spout and handle with most of the original cane covering the grip. The knob on the lid has an old split but is the original as is the stand and burner. The wick to the meths burner is an old replacement homemade from cloth. All is otherwise complete and in good order. The mark to the underside of both the stand and kettle is the shield logo with the three hammers and "W.A.S.B" and "British Made". 	Copper Spirit Kettle on Stand K22* Original quality small copper tea kettle, on a brass stand complete with the spirit burner, circa 1900/1920's. Most of the tightly woven cane covering to the handle is intact, as is the tinning to the inside. The whole is very much in the Arts and Crafts style, undoubtedly a copy at the time of 'Benson'. The kettle is stamped to the underside for the maker, a shield with crossed battle axes within and 'C.D.E.' between the axe shafts, also 'E' and '1', possibly for the size, one pint. The finger-grip wick control on the burner is also marked 'C.D.'. The stamp to the underside of the kettle is very similar at first glance to one of W.A.S. Benson's marks. All is complete and in good and working order. A super, small piece of Arts and Crafts metalware. 12" tall complete, 6.5" spread of base, 7" widest including spout. Horse Chestnut Design Brass Tray T58* Original quality, 1920's, circular brass tea/drinks tray with a turned up pie crust outer rim and an embossed design of Horse Chestnuts and leaves over the base. 	Newlyn Copper Tray T56* Original quality, 1920's, large circular copper tea tray of a simple form, with a raised outer rim and impressed wavy design to the inside and similar to the centre. Oval Brass Tea Tray T55* Original quality heavy brass, oval shaped tea/drinks tray, circa 1900/1920's, with a raised outer rim and open ring handles to each end. This tray was originally nickel plated and much of this has remained on the underside. The raised border has a rope twist embossed decoration, the handles have a beaded design and the main tray has a repeated motif of acanthus leaves and flower heads around the outer edge and an oval design to the centre. 	Hugh Wallis Copper Tray T52* Original quality, 1920's, circular copper drinks tray with a rope twist rim and engraved posy of primroses to the centre. Stamped for 'Hugh Wallis' a coppersmith (1871 to 1943). This example was originally inlaid with pewter on the posy flowers, now all has been polished and is complete and in good and working order. Oval Stainless Steel Tray T47* Original quality, 1930's, hammered stainless steel oval tea tray with a rope twist outer rim. 	Harold Holmes Copper Tray T43* Original quality, 1920's, small oval shaped beaten copper drinks/card tray with a rolled over outer edge and an engraved design to the centre of two dressed dog caricatures playing hockey. Impressed to the reverse for the maker 'Harold Holmes'. Some remains of the nickel or silver plating to the figures is visible and all is complete and in good order. Keswick Copper Tray T37* Original quality, 1920's, circular copper drinks tray with a rope twist upturned rim and a super patina to the underside. 	Engraved Arts & Crafts Brass Tray T33* Original quality oval shaped brass tray, circa 1900/20's, with relief decoration and engraving to the raised rim and an engraved design of 'Bacchas' surrounded by grapes, vine leaves and flowing wine. Copper Umbrella Stand US33* Original quality stunning, copper umbrella tub, circa 1880/1890, in the Arts and Crafts style. Decorated in relief, in super detail, is a scene of a heron with water lilies, leaves and a frog. This waisted tub has a repainted steel back panel, weighted base and a soft beaten surface overall. 	Pair of Brass Fire Dogs FD55* Pair of original quality, late 19th century, cast brass firedogs of an Arts and Crafts design, probably manufactured by Benham and Froud and very similar to the Dr Christopher dresser design: a really wacky pair of firedogs. These were used to rest the fire irons shovels, tongs and poker upon. Replacement inner cast iron weights have been made to suit and all has been polished, lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 7.25" tall x 8.25" widest + 5" front to back. Pair Brass and Copper Fire Dogs FD50 Pair of original quality cast brass fire dogs with copper ribbed ball finials, circa 1880. This elaborate pair of fire dogs has a style of the Arts and Crafts movement and was used to rest the fire irons such as shovels, tongs and poker, upon. All has been polished, lacquered, fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. 12.5" tall x 7" wide at the front + 7" front to back. Price is for the pair. 	Near Set of 3 Brass Fire Irons FI.180* Original quality, late 19th century, three piece near matching brass fire irons. The shovel and tongs do match but the poker differs slightly. These are very much of the Arts and Crafts manner with the reeded top grips and mounts down the stems. All is complete and in good and working order. Pair of Brass Firedogs FD49 Pair of original quality, late 19th Century reeded brass firedogs of an 'Arts & Crafts' design. This example was probably manufactured by Benham & Froud to a design by Dr Christopher Dresser, a leading designer of the Aesthetic Movement style. Each is stamped to the underside only with two numbers "9" and "22" and they bear no other marks. A seriously wacky pair of firedogs. These were used to rest the fire irons upon (shovels, tongs and poker.) 8.5" tall x 8.75" wide x 6" spread of base. Price is for pair. Click on photo for larger and other views Price: £300.00


	Electric Side/Wall Lamp, 3 available SL178* Original quality, 1920's electric side light in tubular brass which can be used both as a side lamp or a wall light. This fitting has a distinct 'Arts & Crafts' feel to it and is stamped to the reverse the manufacturer "B & L" and "British". The original knuckle joint has been retained to enable the bulb holder to be moved when using it as a wall light and the back support can be slotted above a picture rail on the wall or on the picture rail. A very unusual electric light fitting with great style. Has been rewired with modern three core silk covered flex, new brass holder, switch and a three pin plug. All has been fully overhauled and lacquered. The shade is not included in the price, but may be available. Back mount 8" x 10" x 11" front to back. Price is for each. Decorated Copper Vase V2* Original quality, 1920's, copper tubular vase decorated with two fish facing each other with pebbles and seaweed behind. This is not stamped but I feel it is 'Newlyn'. The vertical seam to the reverse has been finished in a wavy edge and rivetted in a decorative fashion. All is complete and in good order. 9.75" x 3.5". Click on photo for larger and other views. 	Copeland Toothbrush Jar JB15* Original quality, late 19th century, off white ceramic, shaped jar being the 'Toothbrush Jar' from a good ewer and basin wash set. Transfer printed to the underside 'Copeland Late Spode, England' and for the retailer 'Heal and Son London.W.'. Complete and in good and working order. 5" tall and 3.75" widest. Benson Copper Jug J25* Original quality copper jug, circa 1880/1900, with an enamelled liner, brass fittings and a horn finial to the hinged lid. This insulated tapered shaped jug is stamped to the reverse of the brass side handle for the Arts & Crafts designer 'W.A.S Benson', and also the underside of the jug is stamped 'H'. 	Minton Child's Chamberpot CP16* Original quality, late 19th century, small child size ceramic chamberpot with a bright mainly pale blue decoration on a cream ceramic base. The design is a serious Aesthetic Movement one and all is complete and in good order. The underside is impressed for the manufacturer 'Mintons'. WMF Nickel Plated Punch Ladle CS20* Original quality,1920's, nickel plated punch ladle with a beaten pink brass shaped handgrip with an inlaid Art Nouveau decoration of dark blue and green enamel insets. The oval bowl has a ribbed design for added strength and a clean impressed manufacturer's mark for "WMF", all has in super Art Nouveau form. 	Benson Copper Ice Bucket / Soup Tureen IB4* Original quality, 1920's, copper ice bucket with an enamelled white interior to the bucket and lid, with brass side handles and knob to the lid. The underside of the handles are impressed 'W.A.S. Benson Patent'. The white enamel lining has a few very minor chips and rub marks but otherwise all is in superb order. This is the first we have seen in the flesh. Complete and in good and working order. 10.5" wide including handles, 8" front to back and 9" tall including lid.
