	Set of 3 Dairy Measures DP103 Original, quality, set of three, steel dairy measures with hooked sheet brass side handles date stamped within the lead weights and measures seal for the year 1926. Each measure is stamped for its size 'Pint', '1/2 Pint' and 'Gill' and are clearly stamped with 'GR' with a crown for King George, '26' for the year and '90' for the customs office. These are original and matching and have been cleaned and lacquered. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. Champion Butter Churn DP102 Original, quality, 1920's/30's, table model butter churn with a glass kilner jar, strapped in a cast aluminium stand and with a metal cranked winding handle. The glass jar has a steel rimmed screw on lid and the stand is embossed 'Champion Churn Plytex Co' to both sides. 	Blow Butter Churn DP101 Original, quality, 1920's, small, square, glass, table model butter churn with a tin lid and external gearing with a winding handle to turn the wooden paddles inside. The gearing is embossed 'Blow' and the glass body is unmarked, the metalwork has been cleaned and lacquered and all is complete and in good order. Blow Butter Churn DP100 Original, quality, square, glass, table model butter churn with a tin lid and external gearing with a winding handle to turn the wooden paddles inside. The gearing is enclosed with red painted covers, embossed 'Blow' and with the registration number for the year 1948, and the glass body is embossed 'Blow Butter Churn 4140', 'Made in England' and '4 Imperial Quarts'. 	Cheese Testing Scoop DP99 Original, quality, 1920's, wrought iron cheese tester, with an ebony and brass 'T' handle. The blade is impressed '3F' and 'Hislop' to the stem and the brass handle is stamped 'Herbert and Sons Ltd, London E.C.'. Used to take core samples from large maturing cheeses. Buttercup Cream Jar DP98 Original, quality, 1920's, glazed, two tone, stoneware cream jar with a deep blue shoulder and top rim and transfer detail to the front in blue: 'Buttercup Cream' and a picture of a milk maid with a dairy cow. 	Steel Dairy Can DP97 Original, quality, late 19th Century, cylindrical milk churn shaped, steel dairy can with a hinged top lid, an inner lid with a strap handle, a brass swing carry handle and a brass hinge plate and front hasp. Stamped to the underside '3' for 3 pints capacity and to the top of the lid for the makers 'Vipan and Headle Leicester'. Some pitting to the upper surfaces, but all has been burnished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. An unusual example from a maker unknown to us. Steel Dairy Can DP96 Original, quality, late 19th Century, tapered, cylindrical, tin dairy can with the original lid, with a strap handle, a brass swing handle and the original maker's brass plate, detailing 'G. Cattle and Son Tinsmiths estab. 1835, Beverley'. The lead plug to the front above the plate is impressed '4' and all has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. 9" high with the handle down and 6.5" diameter of base. 	Chichester Dairies Milk Bottle DP95 Original, quality, 1950's, half pint, clear glass milk bottle - embossed to the front for 'Chichester Dairies Ltd'. Gill Dairy Measure DP94 Original, quality pre-war, tin dairy measure with a hook over strap handle and a lead customs stamp to the front, above impressed 'Gill'. 	Dairy Yoke with Chains DP93 Original, quality, milkmaid's dairy yoke, circa 1900, complete with the original hooks and chains. This yoke, in beech, has few wormholes, but has been well treated and the chains cleaned and lacquered. Part way down the chains are the adjustment hooks to ensure the length is correct for carrying the milk buckets, for ideally, the dairy maid would be holding the milk pails at a level for the yoke to take a share of the weight. Steel Dairy Can DP92 Original, quality late 19th Century, oval shaped, steel dairy can, as used on milk delivery prams and floats when delivering from door to door, straight from the churn. This example has the standard brass wire loop swing handle to the top, a fixed loop to the back and large brass mounts to the hinge of the lid. Stamped to the front for the maker 'Dairy Supply Co Ltd, Museum Street, London' and 'EDCL Chiswick' for the dairy, to the lid 'Express Dairy Co Ltd, 272', and to the hinge 'The Britannia Can'. 	Half Pint Dairy Measure DP91 Original, quality 1920's, steel, half pint dairy measure, with a rolled over edge, brass hooked handle for hanging to the inner rim of a milk churn. The lead custom stamp to the front details 'GR' and '22' and impressed below is '1/2 Pint'. Has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good order. 2.75" diameter and 6.75" high and 4" front to back. Click on photo for larger and other views. Price: £65.00


Bottle of Cheese Rennet DP90 Original, quality, late 19th Century, buff coloured stoneware bottle with a pouring lip and cork, a superb paper label and the original contents. The label details 'Made In England', 'Chr Hansen's Standard Cheese Rennet' with directions for use and various cameos of medals and awards, and a picture of a scene at the 'International Dairy Fair' New York in 1878. The reverse is impressed for the maker of the bottle, 'Price of Bristol'. The coloured label is a little scuffed but complete and the bottle is mint. Rennet is a natural complex of enzymes used in the production of cheese to curdle the milk to produce the curds and whey. All is complete and in good order. 11" high and 4" diameter. 	17 Gallon Steel Milk Churn, 5 Available DP79 Original, quality, pre war, 17 gallon steel milk churns in rusty condition with no holes to the bodies, but for decoration, not for use. Most have lids and some of the lids do have rust holes. These churns are good lookers and would clean up or paint. Brass Milk Churn Labels, 2 Available DP78 Original, quality, 1920's, sheet brass labels as used on empty milk churns for return by rail to the dairy farm. One is stamped 'T.Simpson', the other 'T. 	Elm Dairy Bowl DP76 Original, quality, 19th century, dairy bowl turned in sycamore; with a superb colour and finish with a good repair to a short split with an inset brass plate. Chard Cream Jar DP73 Original quality, 1920's, glazed stoneware cream jar, with a blue neck and shoulder and blue transfer printing to the front 'Golden Pastures, Thick Rich Cream, Somerset, Dorset and Devon Dairy Co Chard'. Also impressed for the maker of the jar "Price of Bristol". All is complete and in good order. 2.75" widest x 4" tall. Click on photo for larger and other views. Price: £56.00


	Oval Stoneware Crock DP70 Original quality, 19th century, glazed oval shaped stoneware crock in the form of a cooper made barrel tub with hoops. The exterior is in a pale brown colour and the inside a near cream. The front is embossed with a ribbon banner with flowers over and the details 'Mrs Hunter' and beneath the side handles it is impressed '2' for the size, say 2 gallons and for the maker 'H Kennedy, Barrow? Pottery, Glasgow'. There is a firing crack around some of the bottom edge inside, which is visible from both the inside and out, but it does not leak, otherwise it is in super order with no chips or glazing damage. Could this be for newly laid eggs on a dairy counter? Or perhaps for milk or butter? Top 15" x 12" + 5.5", base 13" x 9.5", widest including side grips 16.5". Maypole Dairy Butter Tub DP68 Original quality two tone glazed stoneware butter crock, circa 1900, with a side loop handle and transfer printing to the front 'Maypole Dairy Co Ltd' with a picture of dancers around the maypole. Incised beneath the handle is '4lb' for the size. This type of crock did not originally have a matching lid but would have a waxed card lid and a linen top cover tied under the rim. 	3lb Butter Tub DP67 Original quality, 19th century, two tone glazed stoneware butter crock. Impressed to the front 'Gillanders Inverness', '3lb' (for the size) to the reverse and 'Port Dundas Pottery of Glasgow' for the manufacturer. Has a blemish to one side made during the manufacturing process otherwise complete and in good order. This type of crock did not originally have a matching lid but would have a waxed card lid and a linen top cover tied under the rim. 6.25" top diameter, 4.25" base + 5.5" tall. Sunbeam Butter Tub DP66 Original, quality, 1920's, two tone glazed stoneware butter crock. Transfer printed to the front 'Sunbeam Choice Butter', impressed to one side '2lb' for the size and 'Gray Portobello' for the manufacturer. This example has two side handles and the typical Scottish stoneware style of a brown top band impressed with a decorative design. This type of crock did not originally have a matching lid but would have a waxed card lid and a linen top cover tied under the rim. Impressed to the front 'D.C.Knowles Family Grocer, Brechen' and to one side '10lb' for the size and 'Port Dundas Pottery Co. Glasgow' for the manufacturer. Typical for this type of Scottish stoneware, the top brown band is impressed with a decorative design. This type of crock did not originally have a matching lid but would have a waxed card lid and a linen top cover tied under the rim. Stoneware 10lb Butter Tub DP64 Original quality, 19th century, two tone glazed stoneware butter crock. Impressed to the front 'D.C.Knowles, Grocer and Wine Merchant, Market Street, Brechin, 10lb' and to one side 'A.W.Burchan and Co. Pottery Portobello' for the manufacturer. This type of crock did not originally have a matching lid but would have a waxed card lid and a linen top cover tied under the rim. This example has two side grips and the typical decorated impressed band beneath the top rim. It also has two chips, one under the top rim and the other to the bottom edge, otherwise all is complete and in good order. 10.25" top diameter, 7" base + 8.5" tall. Llewellin and Son Brass Plaque NP114 Original, quality late 19th Century, small, oval shaped, pressed brass manufacturer's plate, detailing a royal style coat of arms above 'G. Llewellin and Son, Prize Churnworks, Size No 3T, Haverford West'. Some minor dents, but otherwise in good order, polished and lacquered. G. 	Hathaway's Cast Iron Plate NP113 Original, quality late 19th Century, circular, cast iron, counter balance weight from the underside of an oak end over butter churn. The embossed details read: 'Registered Trademark No 76960 (for 1887) "Shakespearian", Hathaway Maker, Chippenham, England, "Notice This Great Butter Producing Churn was Used in All Parts of the World"'.
