	Cast Iron Civil War Memorial Door Porter DP39 Original, quality, superbly detailed, cast iron door porter, we think issued to commemorate the end of the US Civil War; for the registration lozenge mark to the reverse is for the year 1865, and the Civil War was 1854 to 1865. The detail includes a sabre, a musket with bayonet, cannons and balls, flags and pennant lances and various other items, all mounted on a plinth with a wreath of laurel leaves to the top, in the form of a memorial. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1865, 'No 183575' and '670'. Several very minor repairs have been made, all has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in superb order. 17.5" high, 9.5" wide at base and 5" front to back at base. Brass Door Porter DP38 Original, quality, late 19th century cast brass door porter with lead infill to the base for a counter weight. This example, the first we have seen in this form has a stylised Hibiscus flower head to the top as a hand grip and is in complete and in superb order. 	Coalbrookdale Door Porter DP37 Original, quality 19th century superb cast iron door porter. Impressed to the reverse 'No 4' for the model number and 'Coalbrookdale' for the manufacturer; probably the top cast iron manufacturer in its day. Ram Cast Iron Mantel Ornament MO27 Original, quality 19th Century, detailed and heavy cast iron mantel ornament in the form of a ram. Although well pitted, all is complete and in good order and has been cleaned and lacquered. 	Pair of Brass Clogs Mantel Ornaments MO26 A pair of original, quality, brass and copper mantel ornaments, circa 1900, in the form of 'his and her' clogs. 'Her' clogs engraved with flowers and vines, face onto 'his' clogs and are mounted on copper stands. Shoe mantel ornaments are normally in the form of more conventional boots and shoes. 	Pair of Boot Mantel Spill Holders MO23* Pair of original, quality, 19th century, brass mantel ornaments with integral spill vases in the form of a pair of button up ladies boots, fashioned in thick sheet brass. The reverse reveals the shaped back legs and the petal shaped top rim of the spill vases. An unusual pair, well above average. 	Cast Iron Mantel Ornament MO18* Original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron mantel ornament in the form of a Victorian gent with a dog on a lead. This man is said to be 'Robson Weallans' a solicitor from Sunderland but it may of course be Bill Sykes and his bull mastiff from Dickens' 'Oliver Twist' The reverse is impressed 'Designed by J.G Cowley'. Prancing Horse Brass Mantel Ornament MO16* Original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass mantel ornament in the form of a prancing horse with a girth strap on, mounted on a rectangular shaped plinth. 	Pair of Cast Iron Mantel Ornaments MO15* Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron mantel ornaments with both a left and a right handed version of a uniformed soldier mounted on a charging horse. The uniform resembles those worn in the Crimean War, so these ornaments may depict the famous Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. Both are embossed to the reverse with the registration number for the year 1894, 40 years after the battle. These have been cleaned and finished in a coat of clear lacquer. The one facing to the left did have an old repair using a rivetted section of iron plate, now removed and a new weld repair has been made to the reverse being barely visible from the front. Both are now complete and in good order, an impressive pair of castings. Base 12.5", height 9.25" and 2" front to back. Price is for the pair. Click on photo for larger and other views.
