Original, quality, circa 1900, cast iron door porter, with acanthus leaves and a tall stem with a ring grip to the top. The reverse is impressed "Kenrick 459" for the maker 'A.Kenrick, of West Bromwich' and the model number. Cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. 13.5" tall x 5.75" wide at base + 3.75" front to back.

W T & S Brass Door Porter DP47
Original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass door porter of an Art Nouveau form, with a cast iron weight mounted to the reverse. The semi circular base is mounted with an open handle to the top and interwoven supports. The reverse is impressed "W T & S" with the sun logo for the manufacturer 'William Tonks and Son of Birmingham'. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost and is complete and in good order. 6" wide at base x 14.5" tall + 3.5" front to back.

Original, quality, 19th Century, cast iron door porter with great detail of acanthus leaves, oak leaves and acorns. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1870, 'No 239641' and '45' for the model number. This was manufactured by Coalbrookdale, but is not marked as such. Cleaned, waxed and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. 11" tall, 7" wide and 3" front to back.

Original, quality, late 19th Century, cast brass door porter with a cast iron weighted base. This example has a detailed figure of cupid to the top, part standing on a stack of books and with a bow to one side. The halo above its head serves as a loop hand grip. An unusual example, the first we have seen. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer can be removed if required, at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. 17.25" tall, 6" wide at base and 3.5" front to back.

Cast Iron Civil War Memorial Door Porter DP39
Original, quality, superbly detailed, cast iron door porter, we think issued to commemorate the end of the US Civil War; for the registration lozenge mark to the reverse is for the year 1865, and the Civil War was 1854 to 1865. The detail includes a sabre, a musket with bayonet, cannons and balls, flags and pennant lances and various other items, all mounted on a plinth with a wreath of laurel leaves to the top, in the form of a memorial. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1865, 'No 183575' and '670'. Several very minor repairs have been made, all has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in superb order. 17.5" high, 9.5" wide at base and 5" front to back at base.

A replacement brass back stand, made to suit, has been fitted and the front has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer can be removed if required, at no extra cost. A pair of original, quality, brass and copper mantel ornaments, circa 1900, in the form of 'his and her' clogs. 'Her' clogs engraved with flowers and vines, face onto 'his' clogs and are mounted on copper stands. Shoe mantel ornaments are normally in the form of more conventional boots and shoes. These examples have been polished and lacquered and are complete and in good order. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. Base 4.75" x 0.75" and 2.5" high. Pair of Cast Iron Mantel Ornaments MO15
Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron mantel ornaments with both a left and a right handed version of a uniformed soldier mounted on a charging horse. The uniform resembles those worn in the Crimean War, so these ornaments may depict the famous Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. Both are embossed to the reverse with the registration number for the year 1894, 40 years after the battle. These have been cleaned and finished in a coat of clear lacquer. The one facing to the left did have an old repair using a rivetted section of iron plate, now removed and a new weld repair has been made to the reverse being barely visible from the front. Both are now complete and in good order, an impressive pair of castings. Base 12.5", height 9.25" and 2" front to back. Price is for the pair.

Original, quality, late 19th Century, patent door wedge in the original blue leather covered two piece case. The case is impressed 'Registered Door Wedge Hill's' and the hinged wedge is impressed 'T. R. Hill Registered'. These wedges were carried in one's suitcase when travelling and used inside the hotel room wedged under the door; absolutely no one will be able to force open the door from the outside. The brass wedge is in the original matt gilt finish and has retained the original silk and wooden wedge. Box 2.75" x 1" x 0.75".
