For use with a low voltage electric bell system.The teak cabinet is glazed to the front with a painted zinc sheet behind with circular windows and red zinc indicators. The room names are hand painted on the face of the zinc sheet around the windows and are rather faded, but interesting, for amongst them is 'Capt. Pitt River's bedroom' and 'Mrs Pitt River's bedroom'. Capt. Pitt Rivers was a renowned Victorian Explorer who resided in Oxford and his collection is now housed and open for public view in 'The Pitt Rivers Museum', next to the Oxford University Museum. Apart from being rather faded on the room details this indicator board has great provenance, is fully overhauled, complete and in good and working order.
