	Ransomes Certificate of Merit AT12* Original quality, 1931, certificate of merit presented by 'Ransomes Sims and Jeffries Ltd' in an oak and glazed frame, which may well be the original. The certificate was awarded by the "Cheshire Ploughing Society, in January 1931, to T. Dixon for best work in Class 1, won with Ransomes Plough". The certificate has two old tears to the boarder but no paper is missing. A good looking certificate generally in good order. Outer frame 21.5" x 17.5" + 0.75". Newbery's of Reading Enamel Sign S74 Original quality, 1930's, blue on white enamel advertising sign detailing "Newbery's Friar St Reading, Furniture, Carpets and Curtains" for the furniture store of Reading Berks. 	St Julien Enamel Sign S73 Original quality, 1920's, yellow and red on blue enamel advertising sign detailing "Ogden's St Julien Tobacco, Cool and Fragrant". A bright enamel sign but with considerable edge damage. 56" x 18". Click on photo for larger view. Price: £165.00


Westward Ho! Enamel Sign S72 Original quality, 1920's, red on white enamel advertising sign detailing in upper case "Westward Ho! Smoking Mixture". A very clean and bright enamel sign. Complete and in good order. 18" x 36". Click on photo for larger view. Price: £165.00


	Hop Leaf Enamel Sign S66 Original quality, 1920's, enamel advertising sign for summonds brewery of Reading. This is the more unusual of the signs with the red hop leaf trademark above the black text on white 'The Hop Leaf'. This shaped sign has a good colour and although there is damage to the enamel the iron backing shape has not been lost and because of the black outline to the leaf most of the areas of damage do not show up badly. The lower right front corner is printed for the manufacturer 'Piccadilly Sign 23 Charing Cross S W. 1'. A good looking sign in fairly good order with no restoration. 29" tall x 28" wide at base. Enamel Telephone Sign on Bracket S53 Original quality, 1920's, blue and white double sided enamel sign, on the original wrought iron wall bracket. The sign details to both both sides 'Telephone', 'Telegrams May be Telephoned'. Two minor chips to one side but a larger chip to the other (see second picture), otherwise all is complete and in good order. Marked 'FBEC' to one corner for the manufacturer. 	Woodbine Enamel Sign S36 Original quality, 1940/50's, yellow enamel advertising sign for 'Woodbine The Great Little Cigarette'. In amazing condition, with only a few tiny chips. In fact it has never been screwed up on a wall and the colour is as bright as the day it was made. A fairly ordinary sign in superb condition. 60" x 17". Click on photo for larger view. Colman's Starch Enamel Sign S35 Original quality, 1920's, enamel advertisement for Colman's Starch, with dark blue letters and borders on white. This sign is truely shiny and bright and has spent most of its life away from the weather. Some chips to the enamel, mainly on the border, and two that just creep into the white area. No holes apart from fixing holes. Marked to the lower left corner '1/25 Owners Colmans'. A really super sign, complete and in good order. 24" x 36". Click on photo for larger view. Price: £270.00


	Dominion Enamel Sign S34 Original quality, 1920/30's, enamel advertisement for 'Dominion' motor car petrol, detailed 'Ask For Dominion Guaranteed' and a '1/4' in a petrol globe shaped logo. The text is black and white on blue and is generally in good, bright condition with a good, clean edge, but with three rust holes to one side of the main panel. 48" x 30". Dominion Motor Spirit Enamel Sign S33 Original quality, 1920's, enamel advertisement for 'Dominion Motor Spirit', an early brand of motor car petrol. This large sign is clear and brightly coloured with black and white text on blue. Damage to the enamel around the edges, with one or two holes. Some touching in with paint only has been carried out to most of the chips. Marked for the maker 'Bruton London' and 'British Made'. 72" x 30". Click on photo for larger view. Price: £180.00


	Three Castles Cigarettes Enamel Sign S31 Original quality, 1920's, enamel advertisement, with red letters on a white background. A bright sign, but with some damage to all corners and several areas on the lettering, otherwise complete and in good order. 54" x 15". Click on photo for larger view. Price: £165.00


White May & Royal Standard Lamp Oil Enamel Sign S29 Original quality, 1920's, double sided, brightly coloured enamel advertisement for 'BP White May & Royal Standard Lamp Oils', with a flange for wall mounting. The sign is very clean, a little bent, and has only two areas of damage to the enamel. An inch or so area is missing on the 'T' of 'Standard' to one side and a larger area is missing from the same spot on the other side, otherwise all is complete and in good order. 12" x 18", 1.5" flange. 	De Reszke Advertising Mirror M26* Original quality, 1920/30's, advertising mirror in the original wood grained effect on plaster on wooden frame. This very bright, thick glass mirror details '"De Reszke" The Aristocrat of Cigarettes'. Some very minor blemishes to the mirror and general scuff marks to the plaster of the frame, but otherwise a superb advertising mirror, complete and in good order. 29.75" x 23.75" x 0.75" Click on photo for larger view. Cobra Polishes Mirror M20* Original quality, 1920's, mirror advertising 'Cobra Polishes' in the original oak frame. A circular picture of a coiled cobra snake to the centre with medals and references to exhibitions in '1905 and 1908' to either side. This mirror is slightly misty and there are several minor blemishes to the mirror silver, but otherwise a superb example. 	Bovril Mug M2 Original quality, 1930's, white ceramic mug with three transfer shield panels inset with 'Bovril', the whole mug also decorated with gold lines and 'Made in England' marked under foot. Chip to foot, otherwise complete and in good order. 3.25" tall. Another mug is available, but with a small chip. Click on photo for larger view Price: £40.00


Copper Bovril Urn TU10* Original quality copper hot water Bovril urn, circa 1900/1920's, as used in cafes and teashops. This would be on top of the counter for customers to view the 'Bovril' plaque and the assistant to use the dispensing tap. The urn is in the form of a castle tower with simulated brickworks and a castellated top. The Bovril shield is in cast brass as are the three bun feet and the tap with an ebony handgrip. The plaque to the front details for the maker "J & H Banfill, Coppersmiths and Urn Makers, Gervase St, Old Kent Road, London SE". This is only the third one we have had in 30 years. A great looking item. All has been polished, lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 17.75" tall x 10" top diameter, 14" wide including tap and 12.75" base diameter. 	Atlas Lamps Change Slope A34* Original quality, 1950's/60's, moulded glass counter top, shop change slope, advertising "Atlas" lamp bulbs. The details are "Get lamps you can rely on- get Atlas lamps they're 8-way tested". A little damage to the paint on the underside but not affecting the main pictorial panel and one edge chip to the bottom back, otherwise complete and in good order. Capstan Cigarettes Advertising Mirror A33* Original quality, 1920's/30's, cigarette advertising mirror in the original oak frame and original card backing board. The mirror details "Wills's Capstan Navy Cut Cigarettes", the backboard details "British Made" and "This Mirror is fitted up for inside use only (ITC 6448)". 	The Reason Manufacturing Co Brass Figure A32* Original quality, 1920's, brass figure advertising "The Reason Manufacturing Co Ltd of Lewis Road, Brighton". The female figure dressed in a toga style of outfit is holding what could be an early 'Ediswan' type pointed electric light bulb and stands on a circular plinth, before a large circular disc, perhaps simulating to a large gong? This gong is detailed to the front for "The Reason Manufacturing Co Ltd of Lewis Road, Brighton " and to the reverse "Electrolytic Meters, Prepayment Meters and Midget Meters, Arc Lamps, Fireboxes, Demand Indicators, Time Switches and Street Lighting Fittings." The circular plinth is also detailed "Inventions exploited and perfected". An unusual item, the first we have seen and all in the old bronzed finish. Complete and in good order. 	GKN Screw Display A30 Original quality trade display board of hooks, bolts, screws etc for the manufacturer 'Guest Keen & Nettlefolds Ltd', circa 1900. The full name and trade mark are impressed into the face of the oak frame. This glazed cabinet contains hundreds of items, laid out in an artistic fashion, the items were a representation of goods manufactured by GKN. Eight items were missing and we have now fitted these as best we can, the green interior backboard is rather scruffy, a replacement external rear backing board has been renewed and now all is complete and in good order. Surgical Goods Mirror A25* Original quality, 1930's, circular advertising bevelled wall mirror detailing 'Johns Ltd, 25 Triangle Bournemouth' and 'Surgical Goods of Every Description'. Some loss of silvering around the edges and general blemishes to the mirror, but no chips to the glass. An unusual medical collectable. 12" diameter x 0.25". 	Fry's Cocoa Mirror A23* Original quality, 1920's, advertising mirror in the originial hardwood frame detaling 'Fry's Cocoa makers to T.M. The King & Queen and H.M. Queen Alexandra', also acid etched to the glass 'J S Fry & Son Ld, Bristol & London' and the feint remains of the same is visible, impressed to the lower frame. Apart from a replacement backboard and some minor blemishes to the mirror top left, top right and lower left, all is original and complete and in good order. 15.25" x 21.25" x 0.75". Westward Ho Tobacco Mirror A22* Original quality, pre war, tobacconists' shop advertising mirror of a super small size in the original oak frame. This example details 'Westward Ho Smoking Mixtures', also in small text to the lower edge of the mirror, 'Issued by the Imperial Tobacco Co (of Great Britain & Ireland) Ltd'. The mirror has some blemishes but is bright in colour. The original frame has been cleaned and the ply backing board has been replaced with similar. All is now complete and in good order. 26.25" x 9.25" x 1". Two other matching advertising mirrors for different brands may be available, ref codes A20 & A21. 	Greensmith's Derby Dog Biscuits Card Advert A19 Original card advert suspended by cord, circa 1900, advertising "Greensmith's Derby Dog Biscuit's". Printed by R. Allen & Son Ltd. Litho, Nottingham. Pair of Cigarette Advertising Mirrors A18* Pair of original quality, 1920's, advertising tobacconists' mirrors in the original mahogany frames with orginal backing boards. These superb matching mirrors detail in gilt script "Goudulem Extra Fine Turkish Cigarettes" and "Kestorian Egyptian Blend Cigarettes" and "Dekka Cigarettes". All very unusual brands. Apart from a few very very minor blemishes these mirrors are in amazing and complete condition. These pictures cannot do them justice, they are truely stunning. Frames 54.5" x 10.5" x 1.25". 	Duncan Gilmour & Co Etched Glass Panel A16 Original quality, late 19th century, acid etched glass panel with rounded top corners, probably from a shop door. The belt and buckle motif incorporating 'Duncan Gilmour & Co' is surrounded by Art Nouveau designs. Doulton Sandeman's Ashtray A4* Original quality, 1930's, small circular white ceramic ashtray with four cigarette rests and four panels of a black depiction of 'Sandeman' and advertising the same sherry or port? 	Johnnie Walker Copper Ashtray A2* Original quality, 1920's, oval pressed copper ashtray with 'Johnnie Walker' (Scotch Whisky) around the edge with a pictorial of the same dressed in a top hat and cane with the words 'Born 1820 Still Going Strong'. R Fry & Co Counter Ginger Beer Flagon SJ55* Original quality two tone glazed stoneware giant ginger beer bottle, circa 1900. Manufactured for dispensing ginger beer from the shop counter. The tap hole at the base would be on the shop keepers side and the other would be viewed by the customer in the shop. The elaborate detail to the transfer printed crest etc includes 'R Frys & Co Ltd' two fish on a shield and 'Hastings, Brighton & Eastbourne'. The screw on stopper is missing the lower half and has a few chips. The main flagon has retained its galvanised carrying handle and the body is impressed '2'. Some chips to the top and bottom edges but otherwise all is in good order and complete. A super transfer printed counter ginger beer. 8" diameter x 19" tall with the handle down. 	Huge Copper Spoon and Fork C8* Original quality, 1920's, tinsmith made giant spoon and fork in copper. These were probably made for either a window display or an exhibition. Both impressed to the reverse "H.P.Day Tinsmith, Jersey". We have not seen the likes of these before. Complete and in good order. Spoon 23.5" x 5.25" x 2", fork 23.5" x 4.25". 1.75". Cheltenham Ales Soup Plate C1 Original quality, 1920's, white soup plate with a black transfer border and 'Cheltenham Ales', 'Best In The West' and trade mark of a castellated tower to the centre.
