Original, quality, high level toilet cistern pull handle, circa 1900/1920's, with brass fittings and a length of replacement brass chain. The pull handle is in alabaster or marble and is decorated with carved flowers and leaves in relief to one side. There is also a hole in the alabaster, purpose unknown, perhaps some missing decoration? This was certainly used as a loo pull in the past and hopefully was made as such, for we have not seen an example before in this material. The brass has been polished and lacquered and all is complete and in good and working order. 6" x 1.5" and chain 25.5" long.

Original, quality 1920's, wall mounted loo pull for a high level cistern. The square, sliding, brass bar is mounted on two nickel pillars on a shaped nickel backplate and the pull handle is in reeded copper. The backplate has four countersunk screw holes for mounting and is engraved for the supplier / fitter, 'Colin Turner, Plumber, Glasgow, Partick and Ibrox'. This very unusual loo pull is also ideal for an exterior bell pull. Polished, lacquered and complete and in good and working order. Backplate 8.5" x 2.25", rod and handle 15.5" and 2" front to back.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, very decorative cast iron loo seat support brackets. These examples have a detailed design of a cherub holding up a garland of leaves and fruit. Good repairs have been made to refit a mounting plate to the rear of each bracket and all has been cleaned and lacquered and each has the reqistration number for the year 1897 and '16' for the size, impressed to one side and now all are complete and in good and working order. The two recesses to each of the top rails would originally have been fitted with rubber buffers for those who dropped the loo seat down. Original, quality, mid 19th century, oval shaped, white ceramic footbath with a gilt decorative band around the centre, a pair of loop handles to the ends and gilt lines to the top, base and handles. Impressed to the underside with the monogram 'JD & Co' for the manufacturer J. Dummock and Co of the Staffordshire Potteries, this mark was for 1862 - 1878. One or two faded or worn areas on the gilding and a very fine, short hairline crack to the top rim, around 1.5" long. Otherwise, all is complete and in good order. A really superb looking footbath, of great form and great style. 20" including handles, 13.5" wide and 8.5" tall.

Original quality, superb 19th century, child's blue and white chamberpot; it actually seems a little small for a child. A superb example unfortunately with some cracks to the main bowl around the handle area. The handle is still attached, but would benefit from a repair. Top 5.5" diameter and 7" wide including handle and 3.5" high.

Pair of Doulton Tilting Ewers JB32
A pair of original, quality, superb, late 19th century, Doulton tilting wash jugs on the original cast iron stands. These very unusual items are very few and far between and are complete and in good order. We have had three before in over thirty years, but never a pair. The decoration is yellow and brown with acanthus leaves and flowers and vines on an ivory background. The undersides are transfer printed to one end with the UK registration number for the year 1890, 'US Trademark May 12th 1891' and the US patent June 30th 1891, and to the other end 'Doulton Burslem England', 'Trademark' and a picture detailing 'Royles Patent Toilet Aquarius'. The cast iron stands do show some of the original paintwork, but this has been over painted in a darker brown at a later time. These stands are decorated in relief and incorporate acanthus leaf forms and have wooden rollers to assist the tilting action of the ewer. The undersides also have an embossed registration number for the year 1890. All is complete, perfect and in good working order. So special and a pair no less. Total on stands 15" tall, 18" wide and 9" front to back. Price is for the pair.

The bowl is mainly decorated to the inside and the jug mainly to one side, and both are marked to the underside for the maker, 'Wye' for the model and with the registration number for the year 1914. Original, quality, underglaze transfer decorated, Losolware ewer and wash basin, printed to the underside for the maker Keeling and Co Ltd, of Burslem Staffordshire, with the mark for 1912 to 1936. Decorated with predominantly blue on white floral scenes with a splash of colours. The jug and bowl are decorated to the outside only with just a band of colour to the inside of the rim of the bowl. A great looker and complete and in good order. Basin 16" top diameter and 5.25" high. Jug 9.5" high, 8" wide and 11.5" wide including handle and spout. Price is for the pair.

Original, quality, dark coloured, large ceramic ewer, circa 1900, originally part of a jug and basin set. This example is superbly decorated with four large red poppies with stems, buds and leaves and the top, shaped rim has a yellow gold line trim. Despite its quality there are no clear marks to the yellow underside. All is complete and in good and working order otherwise. 13.25" tall, 9.25" wide including handle and lip, 6.5" front to back.

Original, quality, cream coloured ceramic ewer, originally part of a jug and basin set. This example is decorated with coloured scenes of geese on a pontoon over a pond with bullrushes and water lilies and has anaesthetic movement design border to the topside and underside of the rim. Transfer printed to the underside with the logo for "Oriental Ivory" manufactured by "Bishop Stonier" and has the embossed registration number for the year 1887 and "Severn" for the pattern. All is perfect and complete. 9.75" tall, 9.5" wide including the handle and 7.5" front to back. A matching toothbrush stand may be available ref code JB23.

Four piece original quality matching decorated ceramic ewer and basin with a toothbrush jar and soap dish, circa 1900. Transfer printed to the underside with the maker's name and logo 'Dean's Burslem' with a greyhound on a crown and for the model/pattern 'Ye Old Dresden' The design to the outside incorporates various coloured peony type flowers with foliage on a frogspawn type green decorated background and the insides are offwhite. No chips or cracks to the pieces apart from two glazing chips to the drain holes in the soap dish inner drainer. The basin is rather crazed inside and rings dull and the inner drainer to the soap dish is discoloured. A great looking toilet wash set nevertheless and very suitable for use. Basin 15.75" x 5", jug 9.5" x 10.5" wide including handle, brush jar 5.25" x 3.5" and soap dish 5.5" x 4". Price is for set.

The Vitrolite and the mirror have no chips, but a little of the silvering is missing from the edges of the mirror. A pair of original, late 19th century, superb quality gentleman's hair brushes, with nylon bristles and Elephant Tusk ivory backs. Each brush is engraved to the end 'E. B. W.' for the original owner. Unusual to find these with the natural surface of ivory used and worthy of note is the polished sections, showing good graining to the ivory. Original quality superb continental three fold vanity mirror, circa 1900/1920's. The main back frame is simulated bamboo carved in stained beech. The two wing mirrors have brass frames and black and gold coloured chinoiserie pictorial backing panels. The brass frames are decorated with a continuous embossed design and are marked "JB" and "Brevette". All the hinged joints are in brass and the wooden frame has a chain mounted to the top edge, for wall hanging. A superb travelling mirror, the best we have seen of this type and in super, clean, original condition. Folded flat 12" x 9.75" + 1" front to back, opened out 12" x 23" + 1.5" front to back.
