Original, quality, cast brass toilet door bolt set, complete with the inner bolt and keep and the surface mounted plate housing the revolving celluloid 'Vacant' and 'Engaged plate. When the bolt of the door is shut to lock on the inside of the door, the window will alter from vacant to engaged. The bolt housing is impressed with the registration number for the year 1909 and this example can be used both left and right handed. Original, quality, 1920's, cast brass toilet door, bolt set, complete with the inner bolt and keep and the outside panel detailing 'Vacant' and 'Engaged'. When the bolt of the door is slid to lock on the inside of the door, the window will alter from vacant to engaged. The bolt is impressed for the manufacturer 'Gibbons of Wolverhampton'. This example can be used on both left and right handed opening doors and the key and keep are replacements made to suit. The key will enable the bolt to be pulled back from the outside, when required. All has been fully overhauled, polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. Panel 3" x 2.25" x 0.25" and bolt 3" x 1.75". Price is per set.

Original quality cast pink brass public convenience 1d in the slot toilet door lock. Stamped with the patent date for 1939 and impressed 'Parker, Winder & Achurch of Birmingham' for the manufacturer. This lock is fitted to the outside of an inward opening door and an old penny in the system permits the door to open. When the handle is turned from the inside, the door can be locked or unlocked and the 'vacant' will change to and from 'engaged'. The door can only be opened from the outside by a fresh penny once the old penny has dropped (when the knob has been turned to open), or with the attendant's key. The lock keep and the keys are replacements made to suit copied from an original. This lock comprises the lock and keep, two keys, a turning handle, the square steel bar and six old pennies, a total of six pieces plus the pennies. This lock is handed and will fit on the left hand side of the door facing you with the door hinged on the right side. All is complete and in good and working order. Lock box 12" x 4" x 1.5". Original quality, 1920's, heavy cast brass public convenience, 1d in the slot, toilet door lock. Impressed for the maker 'Lockerbie & Wilkinson Ltd Tipton'. This lock is fitted to the outside of an inward opening door. An old penny in the system permits the door to open. When the door is bolted on the inside the Vacant sign will change to 'Engaged' and until the bolt is drawn back again, the door cannot be opened even with a penny, only with the attendant's key. The lock's keep and the two keys are replacements made to suit and copied from originals. This lock set comprises: The lock and keep, 2 keys, inner bolt and keep, 1 turning handle and square steel bar, 5 old pennies. A total of 8 pieces plus the pennies. Complete and in good and working order. This lock is handed, and will fit on the right hand side of the door facing you with the door hinges on the left hand side. Box lock 12.5" x 4.5" x 1.25". The square, sliding, brass bar is mounted on two nickel pillars on a shaped nickel backplate and the pull handle is in reeded copper. The backplate has four countersunk screw holes for mounting and is engraved for the supplier / fitter, 'Colin Turner, Plumber, Glasgow, Partick and Ibrox'. Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, very decorative cast iron loo seat support brackets. These examples have a detailed design of a cherub holding up a garland of leaves and fruit. Good repairs have been made to refit a mounting plate to the rear of each bracket and all has been cleaned and lacquered and each has the reqistration number for the year 1897 and '16' for the size, impressed to one side and now all are complete and in good and working order. The two recesses to each of the top rails would originally have been fitted with rubber buffers for those who dropped the loo seat down. This example could be earlier and it may well be creamware. Impressed to the underside 'Wedgwood' in upper case. The downside is that there is damage: a large chip to the rim and crack in the floor all the way round, just inside the outer wall. Nevertheless, a great looker with a great colour, well worthy of restoration and it could be creamware. 19" including handles x 14" and 8.75" high.

Original quality, superb 19th century, child's blue and white chamberpot; it actually seems a little small for a child. This has a continuous scene around the body, a sponge type decoration to the side loop handgrip, a top rim decoration and a central scene in miniature to the inside bottom. A superb example unfortunately with some cracks to the main bowl around the handle area. The handle is still attached, but would benefit from a repair. Top 5.5" diameter and 7" wide including handle and 3.5" high.

Original, quality, 1920's, off white ceramic slops pail originally purchased as part of a wash basin toilet set with a cover. This example has the original cane swing handle and a band of transfer decoration of a pair of brightly coloured finch like birds on a branch. Much of the gilt lining around the pail remains and apart from the missing cover all is complete and in good order. Top diameter 11" + 14" including handle. 9.5" tall pail + 16.5" tall with handle up.

Original, quality, dark coloured, large ceramic ewer, circa 1900, originally part of a jug and basin set. This example is superbly decorated with four large red poppies with stems, buds and leaves and the top, shaped rim has a yellow gold line trim. Despite its quality there are no clear marks to the yellow underside. All is complete and in good and working order otherwise. 13.25" tall, 9.25" wide including handle and lip, 6.5" front to back.

Bishop Stonier Jug JB24
Original, quality, cream coloured ceramic ewer, originally part of a jug and basin set. This example is decorated with coloured scenes of geese on a pontoon over a pond with bullrushes and water lilies and has anaesthetic movement design border to the topside and underside of the rim. Transfer printed to the underside with the logo for "Oriental Ivory" manufactured by "Bishop Stonier" and has the embossed registration number for the year 1887 and "Severn" for the pattern. All is perfect and complete. 9.75" tall, 9.5" wide including the handle and 7.5" front to back. A matching toothbrush stand may be available ref code JB23.

Four Piece Ewer and Basin Set JB14*
Four piece original quality matching decorated ceramic ewer and basin with a toothbrush jar and soap dish, circa 1900. Transfer printed to the underside with the maker's name and logo 'Dean's Burslem' with a greyhound on a crown and for the model/pattern 'Ye Old Dresden' The design to the outside incorporates various coloured peony type flowers with foliage on a frogspawn type green decorated background and the insides are offwhite. No chips or cracks to the pieces apart from two glazing chips to the drain holes in the soap dish inner drainer. The basin is rather crazed inside and rings dull and the inner drainer to the soap dish is discoloured. A great looking toilet wash set nevertheless and very suitable for use. Basin 15.75" x 5", jug 9.5" x 10.5" wide including handle, brush jar 5.25" x 3.5" and soap dish 5.5" x 4". Price is for set.

Original quality, 1920/30's, white Vitrolite bathroom handbasin splashback with shelf and bevelled mirror. The Vitrolite and the mirror have no chips, but a little of the silvering is missing from the edges of the mirror. The studs and the shelf brackets are in chrome and all is complete and in good order. 22" wide x 33" tall x 5.5" front to back.

A pair of original, late 19th century, superb quality gentleman's hair brushes, with nylon bristles and Elephant Tusk ivory backs. Each brush is engraved to the end 'E. B. W.' for the original owner. Unusual to find these with the natural surface of ivory used and worthy of note is the polished sections, showing good graining to the ivory. All is complete and in good order. 5.75" x 1.75" x 3" each brush. Price is for the pair.

Travelling 3 Fold Mirror M85*
Original quality superb continental three fold vanity mirror, circa 1900/1920's. The main back frame is simulated bamboo carved in stained beech. The two wing mirrors have brass frames and black and gold coloured chinoiserie pictorial backing panels. The brass frames are decorated with a continuous embossed design and are marked "JB" and "Brevette". All the hinged joints are in brass and the wooden frame has a chain mounted to the top edge, for wall hanging. A superb travelling mirror, the best we have seen of this type and in super, clean, original condition. Folded flat 12" x 9.75" + 1" front to back, opened out 12" x 23" + 1.5" front to back.
