Brass Exterior Bell Pull BP135 Original, quality, superb mid to late 19th Century, cast brass, exterior bell pull in the form of a stylised, roaring lion's head, with a shield shaped backplate. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system, and the other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. The tongue is, very cleverly, the actual pull handle and the screw holes to the front for mounting would have originally been bolts from behind. I cannot believe this is not marked for a maker, only 'Rd' and M4' is visible to the reverse.
