Australian Aircraft Ashtray A37
Original, quality, cast brass ashtray in the form of 'Australia' engraved with the states and many towns. This ashtray is fitted with two cigarette rests to the front and a twin engined aircraft on a stand over the top. The plane is engraved "South Pacific, Sydney Australia 1946". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and apart from the propeller blades missing all is complete and in good order. Base map 6.5" x 5" + 1", total 4.5" tall x 6.5" x 6" front to back.

Original, quality, moulded clear glass, rectangular shaped ashtray, with four corner cigarette rests and the original printed label to the underside detailing "1953 Coronation Ale", "Specially Brewed and Bottled By The Stroud Brewery Co Ltd, Stroud, Glos" and with a picture of the Coronation coach and horses. The underside is painted over in gold, then cream to protect the detailed label. A most unusual example, the first we have seen and in mint condition. 6.25" x 5" + 1".

Original, quality moulded clear glass square shaped deep ashtray with a cigarette groove to each corner and silver painted cameo to the bottom of King George VI & Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Presumably issued as a souvenir for the coronation in 1937. A little discolouration to the underside but no chips or cracks and all is complete and in good order. 3.75" square x 2" high.

Pair of 1902 Coronation Dinner Knife and Fork C18
Original, quality, steel knife and fork with walnut side covers to the handles. The knife blade is etched 'Kings Coronation Dinner, Streatham, 1902'. These were obviously used for a dinner to celebrate the Coronation of King Edward VII. They appear unused and are complete and in good order. Forks 6.75" x 0.75" x 0.25" and knives 9" x 1" x 0.5".

Original, quality pale blue overlaid on clear moulded glass beaker, transfer decorated to the front in colour with the Royal Coat of Arms and "Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II June 2nd, 1953" and to the reverse with The Coat of Arms in red of the House of Windsor. These beakers were issued to commemorate the coronation, and this model was given one to each school child. Complete and in good order. 5" tall, 2.75" top diam and 2.25" base diam. Chatsworth Slate Paperweight CC142
Original, quality mid to late 19th century diamond engraved slate paperweight in the original fitted leather case. The paperweight depicts a view of Chatsworth House and is entitled "Chatsworth" and has a green papered back detailing "Bright and Sons Jewellers, Silversmith, Cutler, Sheffield and Buxton". The red leather covered wooden box with a hinged lid is lined with orange silk and pink paper to the inside, and the exterior of the lid is gilt tooled decorated and inscribed "Chatsworth, very highly finished diamond engraving sold by Bright and Son Buxton". The slate has one chip to the top edge and some very very minor chips elsewhere and the box shows some discolouring to the inside and out, with one or two scuffs to the leather covering and some minor shrinkage to the wood beneath the leather. Otherwise, all is complete and in superb condition. Paperweight 8.5" x 5.5" x 1". Box 9.25" x 6" x 1.5".

Original, quality rectangular shaped clear glass paperweight issued to commemorate King George V visit to Preston on July 8th, 1913. This super example, the first we have seen, has wide bevelled edges to the top and is acid etched to the reverse with the crown over the monogram for King George V and the date July 8th 1913. One very minor chip on one corner and some minor scratches on the back and front, otherwise complete and in good order. 5" x 3" x 1".

Original, quality charming silver plated tea strainer on the original ceramic and plated stand in the original cardboard box. The strainer has a crown for each handle and the initials "G & E" and "1937" and the stand has the monogram to the top over "G & E" and "Coronation". The box is pale blue inside and out with a good portrait of King George VI in his uniform to the top. This was issued to commemerate the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth and 1937. All is complete and in good and working order. Box 3.75" square x 1.5" tall.

The underside is detailed "Victoria R.I Diamond Jubilee, Doulton Burslem" and with the registration number of the year 1897. All is perfect and this is the first we have seen of this example.

Opening Ceremony Scissors CC136
Pair of original, quality, silver handled scissors used for an opening ceremony in Kingston-Upon- Hull in 1935, in the original shaped and fitted box. The case has a hinged lid, cream silk lining to the lid, black velvet to the base, gold tooled leather cloth to the outer and a gilded commemoration plaque to the top of the hinged lid. The plaque is engraved "Presented to Ald. A. Stark, J.P. and Lord Mayor of Kingston-Upon-Hull on the occasion of the opening by him of Hull's Super Service Station for Automobile Purchases (Hull) Ltd, 10th July 1935". The silver handled scissors are hallmarked for "Birmingham 1934" and engraved with the initials "A" and "S". All is in super condition, the scissors having little use only and the box is in near mint as you can get. What a most unusual opening ceremony. Box 9.25" x 4.25" and 0.75" front to back, scissors 7.5" x 2.25".

Original, quality, Fry's Chocolate tin issued to "Commemorate the opening of the Royal Edward Dock in Bristol" on "July 9th 1908". In mint condition and in the original mount and green finished plaster on wood glazed frame. The tin is highly coloured and detailed with cameos of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra and the mount is in scribed pen script "Presented to Joseph Naish 1908". We have re-papered the backboard and tightened up the tin mount and now all is complete and in good order. Truely in remarkable condition. Tin 5.75" x 3.25", outer frame 12.25" x 10.25" and 1.5" front to back.

This unusual example has a good detailed coloured cameo of a bust of Queen Victoria within a decorative frame with a crown over, with "1837" and "1897" either side, the outer border is a flat gilt coloured embossed design of flowers. Original, quality, Doulton saltglazed, two tone tankard with a rear loop handle and white applied decorative scenes of seated gents in tricorn hats drinking or smoking and a horse and rider with seven hounds chasing of a stag. This example is mounted with a hallmarked silver rim to the top edge, engraved "Coronation Day Esher 1902". The underside is impressed "Doulton Lambeth England" and "9969". All is in superb condition, bright and clear, but there is one small chip to the lower corner of the strap handle, otherwise complete and in good order. 5.25" tall, 3.5" and 5" wide including handle.

Original, quality, late 19th century, buff coloured and glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a variety of brown and pale green glazed sections. The front is decorated in tube lined detail "William Ewart Gladstone, Effort, Honest, Manful, Humble", "Effort Suceeds By Its Reflective Action Upon Character, Better Than Success". The front also has a cameo of Gladstone in relief. A super jug issued by Doulton in 1881 to 1914. One miniscule chip to the pouring lip and some minor blemishes on the tube line decorations, otherwise complete and in superb order. 9" tall, 6.5" wide and 7.5" front to back including handle.

Original, quality, bone china coffee can shaped mug, with a loop handle to the rear and "ER VII 1902" with a crown over in red, yellow and blue on white. The lithophane panel to the interior base shows quite clearly King Edward in his regalia and all is complete and in good order. Original, quality, pressed brass wall plaque, with a deep relief embossed panel to the centre depicting King Edward VIII. This would have been produced before, to commemorate his coronation in 1937, but because he abdicated it never was. Some good repairs to the nose area and now all is complete and in good order. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and there is a hanging ring to the reverse . This is the first of this plaque we have seen. 12" exterior diameter x 1" front to back, central panel 7.5".

Original, tapered, off white ceramic water jug, with a pouring lip and handle, decorated in dark blue transfer, commemorating Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887. Beneath the lip is detailed "For The Sake of The Fifty Years". To one side, "The young Queen Victoria", "1837 God Save The Queen" and to the other the older Queen Victoria "1887" and "Long May She Reign". The underside is detailed "Jubilee D.M and Son" within a picture frame surround for the manufacturer 'David Methven and Sons of Kirkcaldy Pottery, Scotland'. Some discolouration, crazing and some old minor small surface cracks to the underside, otherwise complete and in good order. Not a great quality jug, with not very realistic faces to Queen Victoria, but an unusual commemorative piece never the less. 7.5" tall, base 4.75" diameter and 6.5" wide including handle.

Holcombe Ribbon Plate CC96
Original, quality 1920's, white ceramic circular ribbon plate, with a coloured central panel depicting a memorial stone entitled "Pilgrims Cross, Holcombe Moor, Holcombe". This stone shows details to two sides relating to charters of gifted land in Holcombe forrest in AD1176 and AD1125 and when land was gifted by King Charles II to the Manor in AD1662. A good clean plate, complete and in good order. Ribbon plates were referred to as such for coloured ribbons were often threaded though the pierced decoration and hung on the wall. 8.5" diameter x 1" front to back.

The top glazed band is in chocolate brown over the pale brown main body and the detailing in sepia is a cameo of King Edward and Queen Alexandra, surrounded with Tudor roses, thistle heads and shamrocks, with a ribbon swag beneath "Crowned 26th June 1902". The underside of the beaker has the impressed 'lion on a crown' logo, "Royal Doulton England" and "5201". Perfect. 5" tall, top diameter 3.25" x base 2.25". Another identical may well be available, with just a different number impressed to the underside.

A pair of original, quality, late 19th Century, cast iron plaques depicting Gladstone and Disraeli, both Prime Ministers during Queen Victoria's reign. These plaques have been finished in a matt gilt colour and are fitted within wide circular wooden frames. All is complete and in superb order. The first we have seen. Original, quality, buff coloured, glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a coffee brown glazed top and base and a reeded trim. The front is transfer printed in upper cased Art Nouveau type style, around a cameo of Gladstone and the text details: 'England's Great Commoner, William Ewart Gladstone' and 'Effort, Honest Reflective Action, Manful, Humble upon Character, Effort - Suceeds better than by it's Sucess'. Impressed to the underside 'Doulton Lambeth England' and '4200'. A superb commemorative jug, issued in 1898 by Doulton on the death of Gladstone. In perfect condition. 7.5" tall, 4.5" wide and 6.5" front to back including handle.

Original, quality, bronze medallion in the original fitted and red leather covered box, detailed to the lid in gold leaf: '1902 Coronation Medal' and with the cypher of King Edward VII. The medallion, in the original finish, has the King's head to one side and details 'Edward VII Crowned 9th August 1902', and to the other side, the head of the Queen and details 'Alexandra Queen Consort'. All is complete and in good order, with some scuffs and marks to the lid of the box only. Medallion 2.25" diameter and box 3.5" x 3.5" x 0.5".

Six original, quality 1920's, matching, unused, silver plated teaspoons each bearing a different head and details of various British officers of the 1st World War and previous. 1. Lord Fisher and a Cameo of a British bulldog above 'The Navy' in upper case. 2. King George V and a cameo of Britannia, above 'The Empire'. 3. Admiral Beatty and a cameo of a warship, above 'The Navy'. 4. Earl Roberts and a cameo of an Indian Army Soldier, above 'India'. 5. Earl Kitchener and a cameo of a British Soldier, above 'The Army'. 6. Duke of Connaught and a cameo of a soldier, above 'Canada'. The reverse of the spoons are all marked 'Patent applied for, Birks EPNS' and have garlands of roses, shamrocks and thistles for England, Ireland and Scotland. All have been polished and lacquered. The front depicts a circular detailed plaque between 2 flags and under the crown, the reverse as given by 'Robert Long Mayor' of Newbury with the castle motif. Original, quality, superb leather, heavy horse martingale with four commemorative brass faceplates, circa 1900. The two lower brasses were issued after the death of Queen Victoria and are engraved 'Victoria the Good 1819 - 1901' and the two upper brasses were to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902 and are engraved 'God Save the King Edward VII'. The leatherwork is in good order throughout and is fitted with two original brass buckles. A stunning set of brasses difficult to better. Original, red decorated and transfer printed Oxo tin issued to celebrate the Coronation of King Edward VIII that new happened. This tin sold containing twelve Oxo cubes and was designed to serve as a money box when empty of the Oxo cubes. The top shows King Edward on a coin and the reverse, Westminster Abbey. The finish is faded in parts and some rubbing is evident, consistent with its use as a money box, but otherwise, all is complete and in good order. An unusual example in the range issued by the Oxo company. 4.25" x 2.25" x 3.25" tall.
