This set comprises a pair of large joint carving knife and fork and a pair of smaller poutry carvers. The purple silk and velvet lining are a little faded but the outer covering of red moroccan leather is in super condition. Original quality, late 19th century, steel bread knife with a well carved sycamore handle. The handle depicts oak leaves and acorns to the front and laurel leaves to the reverse. The blade is marked 'London Made' and 'Smith 12 King Williams St', for the maker or retailer. There is a minor split to the wooden grip but otherwise this is in excellent condition and very usable. 12.25" x 1.2". NOTE: The blade is not stainless steel, this means it will really sharpen well, but one needs to take care not to leave it wet for the blade will show rust like any 'steel' will do.

Pair of original quality, superb, silver plated and engraved fish serving knife and fork, circa 1900, with ivory handles, all in the original Maroccan red leather covered hinged presentation box. Both the knife and fork are profusely engraved both to the front and back with acanthus leaf designs; but the knife is particularly exciting with a very detailed engraving of a brace of trout, a fishing rod, reel and a landing net. The grips of both pieces are in carved ivory with a minor split to the handle of the fish knife, otherwise all is in super order. The inside of the box is fitted with purple velvet to the base with matching silk to the lid. A well above average pair complete and in good and working order. Box 13.75" x 4.5" x 1.25".

Original quality, unused, silver plated cake knife, circa 1900/1920's, in the original simulated leather paper covered, hinged presentation box. The blade, with a serrated top edge, is engraved with decorations of acanthus leaves and the handle has acanthus leaves and rose heads in relief. Some hallmark type impressed marks can be seen on the collar of the handgrip. The box has a blue velvet lining to the inside of the base and a blue silk to the lid. All is in mint condition. Original quality superb pierced brass dairy skimmer with a shaped bowl and tapered handle with a celtic type design to the top. The bowl has an unusual shaped piercing and two rivets fixing it to the shaft, stamped to the reverse with the registration number for the year 1910. So although this looks 18/19th century, it was probably manufactured by Peerage in the early 1900's, never the less, a superb, very clean example. Complete and in good order. 22" x 7" and 3.5" front to back when flat.
