Pair of original quality long oak, hand operated, fireside bellows, circa 1900/1920's. Completely refurbished with all replacement leather and brass studding but the original brass sprout retained. This unusual set of bellows is deeply carved to the top with a panel depicting a cottage with trees around and detailed beneath "Thomas Hardy's Birthplace". A maker's label is attached to the reverse of one long grip for "R.A Lister and Co Ltd Dursley England". A good restoration and all is now complete and in good and working order. Original quality, late 19th century, pressed brass novelty needle holder in the original red Moroccan leather covered case with purple silk and velvet lining. The six panels are engraved on both sides with a bunch of flowers and the two end panels are embossed with a similar design. The top and bottom locking plates are engraved on the top "Beatrice" and the bottom "Patent". This delightful needle case all folds up into a compact match box sized item. Original quality, late 19th Century, cast iron book press, with traces of the original paintwork and the original brass fittings, mounted on an old two drawer walnut book press stand. The top trim to the base around the press has been replaced with some old teak beading. The maker's brass label fitted to the book press, details 'Jones & Carlton Stationer 47 East Cheap London". The wooden base has been re-finished and the metalwork cleaned and lacquered. All is complete and in good and working order. The walnut base unit originally would have been 2/3" taller. The press will lift off the base to ease removal. Base top 23" x 18" front to back, total height with press 37". Visible area 15" x 10" x 3" tall.

Original quality, late 19th century, hand carved swiss nutcraker in walnut. This example, in the form of a hand gripping a ball, has a threaded hand grip to tighten up onto the nut to break the shell. These were really only used for small round nuts such as hazelnuts. These Swiss carved items were generally referred to as 'Black Forest Carvings'. A small repair has been made to one side of the aperture where the nut is inserted and now all is complete and in good and working order and in a super colour. 8.5" x 2" x 1.5".

Original superb quality carved wooden eagle, circa 1900, with wings spread and perched upon a rock all in Swiss walnut, with glass eyes. Very realistic with fine detail to the feathers, head, talons, flowers etc; in fact, all of a very high standard. These carvings were generally referred to as 'Black Forest' but were mainly all carved in Switzerland. Some very minor damage to wing and feather tips, otherwise it is complete with a good colour and in super condition. 14.25" tall x 14" widest x 5" front to back.

One bristle is missing from the brush, although the others are not loose or dropping, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Tray 9.75" x 8" x 2" and brush 11" x 2.25 x 1.25". Original quality, superb 19th century, blue and white damaged child's chamberpot, it actually seems a little small for a child. This has a continuous scene around the body, a sponge type decoration to the side loop handgrip, a top rim decoration and a central scene in miniature to the inside bottom. A superb example unfortunatly with some cracks to the main bowl around the handle area. The handle is still attached, but would benefit from a repair. Top 5.5" diameter and 7" wide including handle and 3.5" high.
