Gardner & Co Brass Rim Lock RL273 Original quality, 1920's, all cast brass surface mounted door lock with the original brass key and a replacement keep made to suit. This narrow brass lock has an applied manufacturer's plate to the front, detailing "S Gardner & Co No1 Clifford St London" with a crown above. Both the lock and keep have fixing flanges to the top and bottom, each with countersunk screw holes and all has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. 	Reversible Brass Rim Lock RL272 Original quality, 1920's, surface mounted brass door lock. 	Pair of Brass Rim Locks RL265 Pair of original quality, late 19th century, heavy cast brass surface mounted door locks with the original keeps and old replacement keys altered to fit. These matching locks, one left hand and one right hand, are stamped to the fore end for the manufacturer ' Comyn Ching & Co of London' and both have pink brass or copper spandrels incorporating winged cherubs to each of the four corners. Each lock has the provision for a handle turn and a key lock. All have been fully overhauled and have concealed fixings, so when mounted, no screws are visible. A single quality cast brass door handle of similar age and quality is also included with each lock. These locks were originally silver plated. This lock is fitted to the outside of an inward opening door and an old penny in the system permits the door to open. When the handle is turned from the inside, the door can be locked or unlocked and the 'vacant' will change to and from 'engaged'. The door can only be opened from the outside by a fresh penny once the old penny has dropped (when the knob has been turned to open), or with the attendants key. The lock keep and the keys are replacements made to suit copied from an original. This lock comprises the lock and keep, two keys, a turning handle, the square steel bar and six old pennies, a total of six pieces plus the pennies.
