	Set of Wrought Iron Fire Irons F322 Original, quality, three piece set of late 19th century, blacksmith made wrought iron fire irons, shovel, tongs and poker. The poker has a super long square section tip, the shovel has an old replacement spade end and all are a little pitted and weathered, but a super set of heavy quality fire irons never the less. Wrought Iron Fireside Shovel F321 Original, quality, mid 19th century, blacksmith made wrought iron fireside shovel, with an octagonal shaped finial to the handgrip and a pierced head. 	Set of 3 Wrought Iron Fireside Irons F320 Original, quality, late 18th or early 19th century, three piece set of blacksmith made wrought iron fire irons, with faceted handgrips, turnings on the shafts, a pierced shovel head and a good shaped, tapered long tip to the poker. Replacement hinge covers copied from the original have been fitted, and a good rivet repair to the shovel has been made. The shovel head is pierced and was used to sift through the embers and put back onto the fire all but the ash. All the items show stretch marks where the iron has been wrought and worked by the blacksmith. All have been cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Set of 3 Bayonet Fire Irons F319 Set of three original, quality, fireside tools comprising- tongs, poker and shovel, all made with re-fashioned, late 19th century, French bayonets. Each of the spines are engraved with detail and dated "1877 and 1879". All have matching wood and brass handles, with the locking mechanisms intact. The tongs were made using two bayonets and the shovel and poker have had extra sections added. These are known fire iron conversions, I have owned a few sets over the years, but they are not common. I understand a store of these bayonets were discovered in France during the 1920's and were later converted to fireside implements. Great looking fire irons, complete and in good and working order. 3 Piece Set of Larger Brass Fire Irons F290 Original, quality, set of three, matching, early to mid 19th Century, heavy brass fire irons comprising tongs, shovel and poker. These tools are longer than average and are in superb condition and polished and lacquered, but the lacquer can be removed if required, at no extra cost. The three small finials above the handles are replacements copied from the original, the shovel has had some good repairs made to the spade end and the finial beneath the hinge plates on the tongs is also a replacement, for the original was missing. 	3 Piece Set of Brass Fire Irons F288 Original, quality, set of three matching, brass fire irons circa 1880, comprising tongs, shovel and poker. These tools, in the Arts and Crafts style, are each impressed with the orb and cross maker's mark for Benham and Froud, and are in superb, little used condition. 3 Piece Set of Brass Fire Irons F276 Original, quality, set of three, matching, heavy cast brass fire irons, circa 1880 - comprising tongs, shovel and poker. This is the heaviest brass set we have had for many years. The handles are profusely decorated with swirls and acanthus leaves, as are the shoulder and jaws of the tongs. The poker has a wrought iron tapered tip and the 'piece de resistance' - the shovel, has acanthus leaves to the shovel support, swag decoration and a pierced spade for sifting through the ashes or embers. The tongs are stamped for the maker; 'Townsend & Co' within the knuckle joint behind the disc plates. All has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 	W T & S Fire Iron Tidy F131 Original quality, late 19th century, rectangular shaped brass fire iron tidy with a ridged design to the edge and a ribbed grip finial. The whole is mounted on a heavy cast iron base, impressed with 'WT&S' for the makers William Tonks & Son of Birmingham. All has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. These were originally designed to stand on the hearth within a fender, without a floor and the fire irons would rest between the ends of the fender and the tidy. Base 10" x 3.5" x 3" high. Brass Coal Helmet with Scoop CH66 Original, quality, late 19th Century, brass coal helmet, with the original fitted brass scoop, swing over top handle, a cast brass grip to the rear, all mounted on a circular foot to the base. A replacement turned wooden handle has been fitted to the scoop and all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. 	Copper Coal Helmet CH65 Original, quality, late 19th Century, copper coal helmet, with a swing over handle to the top, a cast brass grip handle to the rear and all mounted on a circular foot at the base. The underside is impressed "18N" and "A & N C S L" for the supplier / retailer- 'The Army and Navy Co-operative Stores Ltd'. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Copper Coal Helmet with Scoop CH62 Original, quality circa 1900, copper coal helmet, with a superb open basket weave, blacksmith made wrought iron swing over handle, and copper coal scoop with matching wrought iron handle. The scoop is retained to the rear of the helmet with a strap mount. The hood of the coal helmet is embossed with a petal design and all is mounted on a circular foot stand base. The underside is in the original red primer colour and one can see where the maker's plate was once fitted . All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Apart from dents to the body consistent with use all is complete and in good and working order. 	Copper Coal Helmet with Scoop CH60 Original, quality, late 19th Century, copper coal helmet, with a handle to the top and rear, a slip in copper coal scoop and a circular foot stand base. This super quality helmet has decorative cast pink brass mounts for the two wooden handles which are replacements turned in ebony and copied from originals. The ebony handle to the scoop is original. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. Just a few minor dents but in great looking shape. Brass Shell Case / Coal Hod CH55 Original, quality, very unusual, heavy brass coal hod fashioned from a Second World War brass shell case. Classified as 'trench art', the shell has been trimmed and shaped to the top and two heavy brass bar hand grips have been added. The underside / end is impressed with various numbers and marks including the 'WD' arrow, '1940' and '525'. All has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 	Brass Coal Helmet CH53 Original, late 19th Century, top quality, brass coal helmet with the original matching scoop with an ebonised wooden handle. This example has a swing over handle, a grip to the rear and is mounted on a circular foot at the base.The underside of the foot is impressed with the orb and cross logo for the manufacturer Benham and Froud and '17'. Brass Fender F149 Original, quality 1920's, sheet brass fender, with the original steel floor and cast brass feet. This shaped brass fender is pierced and embossed to the front and sides and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. The floor has been patch repaired and repainted. 	Copper Arts and Crafts Fire Screen F143 Original, quality, late 19th Century, blacksmith made, wrought iron, framed fire screen with a deeply embossed decorative copper panel. The ironwork is in the Art Nouveau style and the copper panel has a very detailed ocean scene of a galleon with full sail on a choppy sea, with two large stylised fish on the surface. This is not marked for a maker, but is probably Newlyn School. All has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. Pierced Steel Fender F138 Original, quality, early to mid 19th Century, finely pierced, steel fender with overlapping circular designs and raised button embellishments. 	Brass and Steel Kitchen Range Kerb F137 Original, quality, late 19th Century, heavy grade, brass and steel fender / kerb for a kitchen range. The top brass plate has flat bars within the decoration and is mounted on a sheet steel body with a brass base trim. The flat top surface would be used to stand a kettle or similar, to keep it warm after it has boiled on the top of the range. All has been cleaned and polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. An above average quality kerb isn't easy to find today. Engraved and Pierced Steel Fender F134 Original, quality, 18th or early 19th Century, pierced steel fender of a serpentine shape, with a super pierced continuous pattern with hammered applied oval and circular mounts and engraved detail to the central section. 	Brass Fender F130 Original, quality, 1920's/30's, sheet brass fire kerb / fender with corner mounted fire iron rests. This example, although quite lightweight, is very unusual with its corner mounts, originally to hang a companion set from, but now equally usable as fire iron rests as in picture four. The stands for the fire irons will lift out if required and all has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 	Copper Firescreen F109 Original, quality wrought iron firescreen frame, with an inset deep relief decorated copper panel, circa 1900/1920's. The blacksmith made wrought iron frame is in the Art Nouveau style, with open twist baskets in the side uprights and the copper panel depicts a viking ship on the waves. Has been cleaned, the copper polished and lacquered and the wrought iron repainted black and all is complete and in good order. Mirror Firescreen F96 Original quality, late 19th century, brass framed fire screen with a bevelled mirror panel with a painted design to the glass of roses and the original sheet lead backing. This screen stands on two pairs of feet facing front to back and the brass frame is in a square section with an open design to the top with two Art Nouveau embellishments. Some blemishes to the mirror on the top left corner and a very small chip to the bottom right corner, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order, polished and lacquered. 	Mirror Fire Screen F84 Original quality outstanding brass fire screen with a bevelled and shaped mirror panel insert. The mirror has a large star cut decoration to the centre and the original lead backing sheet to the reverse. The frame is very ornate in an Art Nouveau style and stands on two pairs of splayed legs. The reverse of the frame is stamped with the registration number for the year 1910, and all has been polished and lacquered. Some very minor blemishes to the mirror, one small chip to the edge of the mirror and another larger one to the bottom left hand corner, otherwise complete and in good order. Mirrored Fire Screen F78 Original quality brass framed fire screen, circa 1900, with a bevelled mirror panel, painted with a design of roses to the front and fitted with the original lead backing to the reverse. This fire screen stands on two pairs of feet facing front to back and has a loop to the top for lifting. The brass has been polished and lacquered and all is complete and in good order. 	Brass Spit Bracket SB23 Original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass bottle jack/clockwork spit bracket with a lock on and off system. This example has a shaped top edge to hold the spit at a variable distance from the fire and the lower pin of the bar, located into the backplate is square above round and enables the locking system to work. The backplate has four countersunk screw holes for mounting on the mantelshelf above the fire to suspend the clockwork spit and meat allowing it to cook in front of the fire. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. 	Brass Spit Bracket SB21 Original, quality, mid 19th Century, cast brass wall bracket for a clockwork spit (bottlejack). This larger and heavier than average bracket has a well pierced cast pink brass backplate, with matching detail on the swinging arm and cast yellow brass hinge mounts, sliding hook and heart shaped end stop. Pair of Cast Iron Mantel Ornaments MO15 Pair of original quality, late 19th century, cast iron mantel ornaments with both a left and a right handed version of a uniformed soldier mounted on a charging horse. The uniform resembles those worn in the Crimean War, so these ornaments may depict the famous Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854. Both are embossed to the reverse with the registration number for the year 1894, 40 years after the battle. These have been cleaned and finished in a coat of clear lacquer. The one facing to the left did have an old repair using a rivetted section of iron plate, now removed and a new weld repair has been made to the reverse being barely visible from the front. 	Copper Coal Vase CB12 Original, quality, circa 1900, copper coal vase, with lid in the original blacksmith made wrought iron frame, with four feet and a swing over handle to the top. The copper vase and lid is segmented in design and has a lift out steel liner with a turned ebony knob to the lid. The wrought iron frame has curled over decoration to each leg and an open basketweave grip to the swing handle. A good repair has been made to the liner. The wrought iron has been cleaned and repainted black and the copper polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order. A maker's mark is stamped to the inside of the lid, which could be for 'James Nicholson and Co of London', but it is not clear to decipher. Much of the original lacquer has remained to the inside of the lid. A super coal vase, the first we have seen of this model. Total 25.5" height with handle up, 22" x 22" width total. Brass Coal Vase CB10 Original, quality, 1920's, sheet brass, circular shaped coal vase with a brass lid, a galvanised lift out liner and two side handles to both the liner and the vase. The front is embossed with a design of a peacock head, neck and wings. An unusual coal bin, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer can be removed, if required, at no extra cost. 	Queen Fire-Lighting Fan B4 Original quality, 19th century, clockwork fire-lighting fan, with a cast iron body and a steel cover over the clockworks. Marked with the patent number 14985. This gadget would be hooked on the front bars of a fire or kitchen range and, after winding up the mechanism with the large side wingnut key and having soaked the wadding with meths., the fan would blow the flame forward into the fire (it actually shoots the flame forward by at least 6"). This would be left on the bars until the fire was alight. Some of the original painted decoration is still evident to the steel cover and, apart from an old repair to the cast iron mounting hook, all is complete and in good and working order. Brass Footman FM1 Original quality heavy cast brass footman with two false drawers over the cabriole front legs and two side handles. 	Miniature Cast Iron Firegrate FG7 Original, quality 1940's/50's, manufacturer's sample or exhibition model of a three piece cast iron fire front and grate, in a good proportioned, scaled down size. The front bars and ash curfew to the front in cast iron are enamelled in a bronzed finish, and the cast iron base grills on four legs has been cleaned and lacquered.
