Pair of Benham & Froud Copper Coal Helmets CH39 Pair of original quality, late 19th century, superb copper and wrought iron coal buckets, these are very likely to be designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser and are marked with the registration number for the year 1891 and the 'orb and cross' logo for the manufacturer 'Benham and Froud' of London who did manufacture many of Dresser's designs. The wrought iron has been cleaned and lacquered and the copper polished, one small repair has been made to the leading edge of one, see picture number seven. The very near matching brass shovels with turned oak handles are replacements of similar age to the coal scoops and are a superb fit to the loop inside the roof of the coal container.
