Two Tone Stoneware Flagon SJ58 Original quality, 18th or early 19th century, two tone salt glazed stoneware flagon of the bellied form with a side loop handle to the top. A large '2' is incised to the base of the side loop handle and although there are a few rub marks to the top rim all is otherwise complete and in good order. A great looker. 15" tall x 9.5" widest. 	Mitchells and Butlers Flagon SJ57 Original quality, 1920's, two tone, buff coloured glazed stoneware flagon with a galvanised looped handle to the neck. Printed to the top section 'Mitchells and Butlers Ltd Beer Jar' for the supplier of the original contents and impressed to the reverse 'C & S England 2' for the manufacturer of the flagon. 	R Fry & Co Counter Ginger Beer Flagon SJ55* Original quality two tone glazed stoneware giant ginger beer bottle, circa 1900. Manufactured for dispensing ginger beer from the shop counter. The tap hole at the base would be on the shop keepers side and the other would be viewed by the customer in the shop. The elaborate detail to the transfer printed crest etc includes 'R Frys & Co Ltd' two fish on a shield and 'Hastings, Brighton & Eastbourne'. The screw on stopper is missing the lower half and has a few chips. The main flagon has retained its galvanised carrying handle and the body is impressed '2'. Some chips to the top and bottom edges but otherwise all is in good order and complete. A super transfer printed counter ginger beer. 8" diameter x 19" tall with the handle down. Large Saltglazed Stoneware Flagon SJ53 Original quality, early 19th century or older, large, two tone, saltglazed, bellied shaped stoneware flagon with a top side loop handle. One sizeable chip to the top rim but otherwise all is complete and in good order, with some super firing blemishes to the glaze. 20" high, 10" widest and 9" base diameter. 	Large Glazed Stoneware Tub SJ52 Original quality, late 19th century, large, two tone,glazed straight sided, stoneware storage tub with a top rim. This has, at one time, been used with isinglass to preserve eggs, but was probably manufactured to hold ox tongues or lard etc in the butchers' shops and a waxed card lid would have been used. Large Stoneware Tub SJ51 Original quality, late 19th centruy, large, red terracotta, bellied shaped tub with a brown glazed interior and outside shoulders with side cup grips. The main outer body and the top rim are unglazed and apart from a minor chip to the top rim all is complete and in good order. 18.5" high, 13.5" widest and 11" base. 	Shepherd & Walker Stoneware Flagon SJ40 Original quality 19th century small stoneware flagon with a loop handle and a 1.75" mouth to the top. Impressed 'Shepherd & Walker Settle' for the supplier of the contents. Blue Glass Fire Grenade FG15 Original quality, 1920's, spherical cobalt blue glass fire grenade complete with the original infill to the spout and the original contents (often a solution of sodium bicarbonate). The whole grenade used to be thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. No paper label but otherwise complete and in good order. 3" diameter and 4" tall with neck. 	Sinclair & Co Glass Fire Grenade FG14 Original quality cobalt blue glass fire grenade, circa 1890, manufactured by 'Sinclair & Co'. Complete with the contents, often a solution of sodium bicarbonate. The whole grenade used to be thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. Pair of Imperial Fire Extinguisher Glass Fire Grenades FG13 Pair of original quality green glass fire grenades, with part contents and the original hanging/carrying wire rack, circa 1880. Each grenade is embossed with a garter around a crown, with the Prince of Wales feathers above and 'The Imperial Fire Extinguisher' within the garter. This embossed detail is much larger than normally found on this model. The whole grenade used to be thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. All is complete and in good order. 	John Purrett Glass Fire Grenade FG7 Original quality, octagonal shaped, general purpose bottle, circa 1880, with large wrap around label to three sides with illustration of a fire scene depicting escape and manual pump in use, main heading 'Purrett's Magic Fire Extinguisher & Life & Property Protector'. Complete with cobalt blue contents and lead seal to the top, embossed 'Purrett'. Some corner knocks to the bottom edge, otherwise complete and in good order. A very scarce fire grenade. Descours Firewatcher Glass Fire Grenade FG6 Original quality, spherical, clear glass fire grenade, circa 1900, with the contents and with the paper label detailing 'Descours & Co 63 Queen Victoria St London EC Patent', a phoenix logo and 'Firewatcher Hand Grenade and Automatic Extinguisher'. The original red painted wire hanging loop is intact and the remains of the red wax seal has an imprint of a phoenix. The contents would usually have been a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. 	Universal Fire Extinguisher Glass Fire Grenade FG5 Original quality, ovoid shaped, light sapphire blue coloured glass fire extinguisher, circa 1870/1880, with ribs to the lower half and embossed to the front 'Universal Fire Extinguisher'. Complete with contents and paper label to the top. The contents would normally have been a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. French Glass Fire Grenade FG4 Original quality spherical shaped orange coloured glass fire grenade, circa 1880-1920, with segmented vertical ribs and three embossed circular panels, each detailed 'UNIC Grenade Extinguisher'. Complete with the original stopper and contents, usually a solution of sodium bicarbonate. The whole grenade used to be thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. 	Pair of Imperial Fire Extinguisher Co. Glass Fire Grenades FG2 Pair of original quality green glass fire grenades, with the original wall hanging/carrying wire rack and part contents, circa 1880. Each grenade is embossed with a garter around a crown with Prince of Wales' feathers above and 'The Imperial Fire Extinguisher Co' within the garter. Both the grenades have the original red painted lead foil caps, although one is missing the top cover and the same grenade has a repair to the neck. The contents would usually have been a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown onto small domestic fires to extinguish the flames. Complete and in good order. Grimwades Oval Currants Storage Jar SJ49* Original quality oval shaped, off white, ceramic kitchen storage jar with green printing and decoration manufactured by Grimwade. The base has 'Currants' with a laurel wreath with ribbon beneath, a beaded pattern under the top rim and is detailed to the underside 'Hygienic Household Jar, Note Its Merits, Oval Shape, Rounded Interior, Cover That Serves As Scoop So That Contents Need Not Be Touched By Hand' and the 'Registration Number 550735' for the year 1909. The lid also has a beaded decoration to the top outside edge, a central flower design and a repeat of what is beneath the jar base under the lid. The scoop/lid is perfect, but the base is rather crazed and discoloured. There is an underglaze chip to the front of the base, a proper chip towards the back and it does sound rather dull to the tap, otherwise all is complete. 	Large Tapioca Jar & Lid SJ48* Original quality, late 19th century, white ceramic banded kitchen storage jar with lid and 'Tapioca' printed in black to the front. 	Small Coventry Stoneware Flagon SJ37 Original quality, 19th century, small bellied shaped stoneware two tone glazed flagon with a side loop handle. Impressed to the top surface 'Andrew Sumner & Co Coventry' for the supplier of the contents and 'Price of Bristol' to the lower part for the maker. Invalid Jelly Jar SJ18* Original quality, 1920's, white glazed ceramic pot with transfer detail to the front and impressed mark 1/2 pint to the underside. The top rim has a recess for the cover to be tied on. The details are 'Specially Prepared From Calves Feet By Parker and Son, Confectioners By Appointment' and '18 St Mary's Gate and 12 St Ann's Square Manchester'. 	Copper Bedwarmer FW30 Original quality very unusual, circular copper hot water bottle/ bedwarmer, circa 1900/1920's. This example, like two jelly moulds fitted together, has a side mounted screw in stopper and a brass ring handle and would have been filled with hot water. The stopper has coin slots to assist in unscrewing etc. Has been polished and lacquered and apart from some very minor dents all is complete and in good and working order. 9" x 4". The Royal Footwarmer FW28 Original quality circular, buff coloured, stoneware footwarmer designed to be filled with hot water and used as a foot or bed warmer. Transfer printed '3' for the size and 'Price Powell & Co' for the makers and 'The Royal Footwarmer' with the registration number for the year 1907. The original stopper is present as is an old perished rubber washer and a length of wire wound around the base of the neck to the filler collar, this wire is not a repair and is gripping a tiny fragment of cloth perhaps this was the remains of a material cover. 	The Adaptable Hot Water Bottle FW27 Original quality circular, buff cloured, glazed stoneware bedwarmer, transfer printed to the front 'The Adaptable Hot Water Bottle & Bed Warmer' and to the reverse 'Boots' for the retailer. With the registration number for the year 1907 and impressed '2' for the size. Complete with the stopper and the wire carrying loop with wooden bobbin grip. Coach Footwarmer FW26* Original quality, late 19th century, all copper hot water filled footwarmer with the original carpet cover, originally used on the floor of coaches and early motor vehicles. This example is unusual for it is stamped with the trademark of the manufacturer 'Benham & Froud', stamped 'S' to the other end and has a brass plaque with instructions for use. The carpet is worn in places but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. 	Chemist's Specie Jar BJ42* Original quality, 19th century, large glass chemist's specie jar with lid. This jar has some of the original interior decoration of Saint George on a horse, battling with the dragon, above 'Magnesia' with a white washed background colour overall. It seems a shame, but this jar would probably look better stripped back to the clear glass which is perfect with a superb rough pontil mark to the underside. Body diameter 10.5" x 2" high. Apothecary Bottle BJ18* Original quality, 19th century, circular glass apothecary bottle with a cut and ground glass stopper and a white enamelled shield to the front detailing 'Vinum Aloes'. 	Pair of Chemist's Shop Carbouys BJ4* True pair of original quality, 19th century, chemist shop large freeblown clear glass carbouys with matching pointed cut glass stoppers, good pontil marks beneath and original circular mahogany window plinth. These are filled with coloured water and have been for some years and are both perfect in every detail. These were generally displayed in Chemist shop windows and if one views the underside of the plinths you will see grooves where they sat on 2 rails in the window, this would permit them to be moved along easliy out of harm's way when cleaning the inside of the windows or changing other window displays. All is complete and in good order. It is hard to find a pair of this size today. 27" high including stopper and plinth x 13" widest, plinth 2" x 12.25". Price is for the pair.
