R Fry & Co Counter Ginger Beer Flagon SJ55* Original quality two tone glazed stoneware giant ginger beer bottle, circa 1900. Manufactured for dispensing ginger beer from the shop counter. The tap hole at the base would be on the shop keepers side and the other would be viewed by the customer in the shop. The elaborate detail to the transfer printed crest etc includes 'R Frys & Co Ltd' two fish on a shield and 'Hastings, Brighton & Eastbourne'. The screw on stopper is missing the lower half and has a few chips. The main flagon has retained its galvanised carrying handle and the body is impressed '2'. Grimwades Oval Currants Storage Jar SJ49* Original quality oval shaped, off white, ceramic kitchen storage jar with green printing and decoration manufactured by Grimwade. The base has 'Currants' with a laurel wreath with ribbon beneath, a beaded pattern under the top rim and is detailed to the underside 'Hygienic Household Jar, Note Its Merits, Oval Shape, Rounded Interior, Cover That Serves As Scoop So That Contents Need Not Be Touched By Hand' and the 'Registration Number 550735' for the year 1909. The lid also has a beaded decoration to the top outside edge, a central flower design and a repeat of what is beneath the jar base under the lid. The scoop/lid is perfect, but the base is rather crazed and discoloured. There is an underglaze chip to the front of the base, a proper chip towards the back and it does sound rather dull to the tap, otherwise all is complete. The Royal Footwarmer FW28 Original quality circular, buff coloured, stoneware footwarmer designed to be filled with hot water and used as a foot or bed warmer. Transfer printed '3' for the size and 'Price Powell & Co' for the makers and 'The Royal Footwarmer' with the registration number for the year 1907. The original stopper is present as is an old perished rubber washer and a length of wire wound around the base of the neck to the filler collar, this wire is not a repair and is gripping a tiny fragment of cloth perhaps this was the remains of a material cover. Pair of Chemist's Shop Carbouys BJ4* True pair of original quality, 19th century, chemist shop large freeblown clear glass carbouys with matching pointed cut glass stoppers, good pontil marks beneath and original circular mahogany window plinth. These are filled with coloured water and have been for some years and are both perfect in every detail. These were generally displayed in Chemist shop windows and if one views the underside of the plinths you will see grooves where they sat on 2 rails in the window, this would permit them to be moved along easliy out of harm's way when cleaning the inside of the windows or changing other window displays.
