Brass Enema M112 Original, quality, mid 19th century, brass enema in the original fully fitted pink velvet lined mahogany box, with the original lock and key. This brass enema is embossed with maker's name "Peake Allen and Co, London" and is complete and in superb order, with the original lacquer, ivory handle to the plunger, pewter extending arm and two pewter nozzles of different sizes. The lid of the hinged box has suffered with some old splits to the mahogany top, but these have now all been repaired and although they are still visible all is now in good order and complete and the enema looks to be in working order, but personally I have not tried it. Cast Iron Cork Squeezer CS2 Original, quality, mid to late 19th Century, cast iron cork press as used by the chemist shops and dispensaries to compress small corks before dropping them into medicine bottle necks. This example will take three different sized corks, has deep relief decoration in the form of acanthus leaves and has four feet, each with a countersunk screw hole for mounting to the work table. I know this looks like a door knocker, but it is seriously a cork squeezer. Cleaned, lacquered and complete and in good and working order. 10.75" long including handle. 3.25" tall and 3" widest. Bate's Saccharometer SI1 Original quality, 18th or 19th century, Bate's patent saccharometer in the original mahogany box, manufactured by 'Buss, 33 Harton Garden, London'. The fitted interior is complete with the brass float, four brass counter weights and the thermometer mounted on a brass backplate. The thermometer plate and the rod on the float are both engraved with the manufacture's name and address, as is the ivorine plaque to the top of the lid.
