Original, quality 1920's, cycle stand. This superb example has a detailed cast iron base in the form of a styalised creature with a lion's head, four clawed feet and is embossed "The Willbro Norwich". These were used to display cycles in shops or exhibitions and would hold the cycle off the floor with the hub resting on the support, the front wheel between the prongs and the main frame clamped in the mount. All has been cleaned and repainted black and is complete and in good and working order. 21" tall x 8.5" wide at base and 15" front to back.

Opening Ceremony Scissors CC136
Pair of original, quality, silver handled scissors used for an opening ceremony in Kingston-Upon- Hull in 1935, in the original shaped and fitted box. The case has a hinged lid, cream silk lining to the lid, black velvet to the base, gold tooled leather cloth to the outer and a gilded commemoration plaque to the top of the hinged lid. The plaque is engraved "Presented to Ald. A. Stark, J.P. and Lord Mayor of Kingston-Upon-Hull on the occasion of the opening by him of Hull's Super Service Station for Automobile Purchases (Hull) Ltd, 10th July 1935". The silver handled scissors are hallmarked for "Birmingham 1934" and engraved with the initials "A" and "S". All is in super condition, the scissors having little use only and the box is in near mint as you can get. What a most unusual opening ceremony. Box 9.25" x 4.25" and 0.75" front to back, scissors 7.5" x 2.25".

Original, quality pre-war chrome finish motor car radiator mounted car badge in near mint condition and mounted on a later composition plinth. This super example is detailed "Royal Automobile Club of Victoria" to one side and "Royal Automobile Club Associate" to the other and the chromed shoulder is impressed "property of the RACV" and "4580" presumably for the membership number. Both the enamel roundels are perfect and apart from the nick off the top of the crown all is perfect and in super condition and the original mounting nut is included. Badge 5" tall and thread x 4" wide. With stand 7.5" tall x 4.75" diam base.

Original, quality nickel key to fit the 'AA' Telephone boxes and given to members only from 1919/ 1920. The AA boxes first appeared in 1911 but members only received keys from 1919. The keys used in 1920 were so dated and continued to be issued in this shape until 1921. This clean example has the fretted double "A" and "Property of the automobile association", "1920", to one side and "Shermays Ltd, Cheapside London EC2" to the other and "H and T.V." for the maker of the key, H and T Vaughan of Willdenhall. This example is the first we have seen of this model. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. 2.75" x 1.25".

Original, quality 1940's / 50's motor cycle helmet, with a glossy black exterior fitted with a cloth inner drawstring skull cap and a quilted leather back and side covering with a press stud chin strap. Original, quality early 19th century or perhaps a little older, all brass oil can in the original unpolished green finish. This super example has a cylindrical body on four ball feet with a circular screw off filler cap to the top, a long tapered and curved spout to the front and a circular rope twist handle with finger rests top and bottom. This is the first we have seen and all is complete and in good and working order. 16" long, 3" wide and 5" tallest.

This example has a closed tapered top section and a sturdy hand grip loop handle to the rear. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. A lead custom stamp is still evident but not legible. Base 4.25" diam and 7.25" total front to back.

Original, quality 1920's, brass oil can / squirt, as used with motor vehicles, motor cycles and other machines. This flat and circular example has no names for the maker, but is in super condition, with a long circular spout, a screw on / off filler cap and a screw on cover to the spout. The spout cover is a replacement made to suit and all is complete and in good and working order. This can is operated by finger squeezing the sides together and out. Original, quality, Wells unbreakable cast iron workshop lamp fired by colza / vegetable oil, circa 1900 / 1910. This large example has the remains of the rope wick still in position and its screw off lid and swing handle. The lid has the original wire retaining strap and has some repairs. One side of this lamp is impressed "Wells Unbreakable", "A G Wells and Co" and "No 18". A very clean example near unused, now cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good order. 7.5" tall with handle down, base 5.5" diameter, 9.5 widest including spout.

Original, quality 1960's, near mint condition, double sided, wedge shaped enamel bus stop sign with "Bus Stop" in white text to the lower section beneath the circular logo detailed with "Request". Original, quality, post war, whistle / horn of the trumpet form, in nickel plate and used by the early cyclists. This example is stamped "The Acme Siren", "Made in England" and has the original eye for a lanyard rope and much of the original black interior paintwork is still visible.
