Cheese Wedge Plate and Cover CD3 Original quality, late 19th century, large ivory coloured, cheese wedge shaped plate and cover. The main design to one side of the cover details an owl on a branch with the moon and clouds behind in brown and gilt. The other two sides are much plainer and each has a butterfly and a twig or two. The handle to the top is a simulated branch with oak leaves and acorns in relief. The base plate has a few minor stained crazes to the centre and some rub marks to the high points of the pie crust edge but otherwise all is complete and in superb order with no chips, cracks or bad grease stains. Robert Wells No 20 Rumbler Bell, 2 available B83 Original quality, mid to late 18th century, large rumbler or crotal bell. Impressed with a petal pattern and "R.W." for the maker Robert Wells, the bell founder from Aldbourne in Wiltshire. This example, often worn by sheep or road haulier's horses, has been mounted with a blacksmith made wrought iron frame, a spring catch and a spike for mounting on a road haulier's wagon. The bell is in the old patented green finish and has a good tone. Has been waxed and the spike for mounting has been cleaned and waxed also.
