'Caretaker' Brass Electric Bell Push EP184 Original, quality, 1950's, cast pink brass, circular, exterior electric bell push with a plated central button and 'Caretaker' inlaid in white enamel. Originally nickel plated and now polished through to the brass and with two countersunk screw holes for mounting. 	Brass Cupboard Catch CC5 Original, quality, 1920's, cast pink brass, spring loaded cupboard catch with keep and an oval knob, which turns to operate the catch. The catch has four countersunk screw holes for mounting and the keep has two; all has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. Electric Indicator Bell IB127 Original, quality, 1920's, electric indicator bell with an external brass bell, mounted on a teak backboard, with a lift off teak cover to the coil, etc. For use with a 9 or 12 volt, low voltage electric supply system, as used with low voltage servants indicators, bell presses and telephone extensions. The other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. All has been fully overhauled, the brass polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. 	No Circulars No Hawkers Enamel Plaque NP117 Original, quality, 1930's, small, brown enamel plaque with cream, upper cased text detailing: 'No Circulars No Hawkers'. This was intended for fixing to the front gate and has two eyelet mounted screw holes. Some minor chips, otherwise in superb and bright condition. 6" x 1.5". Run of Chromed Lever Door Handles, 14 Pairs Available DH778 A pair of original, quality, 1930's, chrome on brass, Art Deco lever door handles with circular, spring loaded backplates, each with three countersunk screw holes for mounting. A square bar is included to fit a standard mortice lock or latch. Old lever handles are difficult to find these days - these came from a commercial building in Bridgwater, now demolished. Davenport Child's Chamberpot CP23 Original, quality, superb, early 19th Century, blue and white child's chamberpot. This charming pottie has two identical panels of a continental scene - a cathedral with houses and a water mill beside a river. Impressed to the underside with several marks and printed 'Davenport'. 	Salter No 50 Family Scale S137 Original, quality, 1920's, cast iron domestic kitchen scale with a circular, white enamelled dial and a rectangular lift off steel pan. Much of the original green paintwork remains on the cast iron body and the enamelled face is in mint condition. This scale is adjustable by a thumb screw to one side and the dial is detailed 'Salter's Improved Family Scale No 50, to weigh 50lb by 2oz' and 'Made in England', with the knotted rope and arrow trademark for Salter's. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. Enamelled dial 7.5" diameter, base 8.5" diameter and total height 17". Pan 13.75" x 9.75". 	Stodart Surgical Knife M87 Original, quality, steel surgical knife with ebony side covers; stamped to the blade for the maker 'Stodart'. J. Stodart were recorded as surgeons instrument makers and cutlers at 401 The Strand, London, from 1787 to 1839. Some pitting, but otherwise in superb order. 8" x 0.75". Octave Hand Chimes B98 Original, quality, late 19th Century, hand held octave of nickel plated on brass bell domes, mounted inside each other on a central shaft, with a hanging hook to one end and a ribbed ebony hand grip to the other. This would need to be struck with a beater / hammer for no provision for clappers is evident. Two bells are cracked, but only one is dull, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Is this a musical instrument from an orchestra, or a novelty octave of bells? One would not want to hold it for very long as it is rather top heavy, the hook at the top, therefore, would enable it to be hung up temporarily whilst taking a rest. 14" long and 3.75" largest diameter. 	Brass Shoulder Plane P21 Original, quality, late 19th Century, cast brass shoulder plane in the 'Yorkshire Pattern', with the original steel 1 1/8" blade and rosewood infill and wedge. Shoulder planes were designed to clean rebates, shoulders of tenons etc, across the grain. This superb example has no maker's name, only the owner's name - 'T. Weston' - stamped to both the infill and wedge. Complete and in good and working order; the best example we have had for some time. Body 9.5" x 1 1/8" and 3" high, total 11" long including blade. Pair of Unused Leather Child's Shoes B2 A pair of original, quality, unused, all leather, children's size 6 lace up shoes in deep brown. Probably 1940's/50's with the box part of the original carton, with the end label. The leather soles are impressed 'Huco Shoes, Made in Australia, All Leather'. 	Floor Standing Gong G76 Original, quality, 1920's/30's, floor standing dinner gong with a cast brass circular gong, suspended within a hooped oak stand. The main frame, in one piece of oak, is 4.25" x 1" thick and has a turned oak cross bar to the base. An old, turned, wooden handled beater of similar age is included and all is complete and in good and working order. The gong has a good tone and resonates well. A super looking gong with an unusual frame. 39.5" high x 26.5" and 12" front to back at floor. Gong 18" x 3.5". Click on photo for larger and other views. Price: £565.00


Oak Corner Bookcase F143 Original, quality, 1930's/40's, oak corner bookcase unit, of two separate pieces. The lower section has a central cupboard with a drawer above and book shelf units away from both sides; these open fronted cabinets each have one adjustable shelf. The upper, glazed section has three sides to the front, the central one being a door, and has two removable shaped shelves. Both the tops of the glazed section and the base section are finished, so these two units can be used independently or one on the other as in the picture. Apart from the original oak faced plywood panels to the backs and the drawer bottom, all is in solid oak. Both the doors have ball catches and, apart from some minor ink stains to the left hand book shelf unit top and some old and now well treated worm holes to the ply back panel to the base unit, all is complete and in superb order. Has a small brass presentation plaque to the back of the door, which is dated 1942. Back of each wing 34", height of central unit of base 29", height of top cabinet 29.5", height of top of wing of base 25" and upper section 17" front to back into corner. 	Mahogany Chest of Drawers F142 Original, quality, late 19th Century, mahogany chest of two short and three long drawers, of a good warm colour. The drawer fronts are mahogany veneered, the backboards are in pine and all the rest is in good mahogany - the top and sides, the drawer sides and bottoms. The mahogany knobs are the original, as are the bun feet and the bottom drawer is deep and includes the front plinth trim.
