W.Grace Cast Iron Pub Table F18* Original quality, circular, fancy cast iron pub table fitted with a replacement top made from a well used, elm shop counter. The cast iron base, in the form of 3 legs with an inner shelf, is decorated with the head of W.Grace wearing a cricket cap to the top of each leg section. Each head has the initials 'WG' above and is surrounded by swags of ribbon, bunches of flowers and fruit etc. Some good repairs have been made to the ironwork in places and is now complete and in good order and has been finished in clear lacquer to retain the detail. The reverse of each leg is marked with the registration number for the year 1891. W.Grace was a famous Victorian English cricketer, probably the most famous, and this table is the rarest of the character pub tables produced. Westward Ho Tobacco Mirror A22* Original, quality, pre war, tobacconists' shop advertising mirror of a super small size in the original oak frame. This example details 'Westward Ho Smoking Mixtures', also in small text to the lower edge of the mirror, 'Issued by the Imperial Tobacco Co (of Great Britain & Ireland) Ltd'. The mirror has some blemishes but is bright in colour. The original frame has been cleaned and the ply backing board has been replaced with similar. Artillery Shell Cocktail Shaker CS2* Original, quality cocktail shaker manufactured from 1918 to 1921 by The Gorham Company in the US. One of the tallest cocktail shakers ever produced. The lower section is a real brass shell case and would have contained cocktail glasses apparently and the top section, in nickel with copper and brass mounts, serves as the shaker. The underside of both the brass shellcase and the nickel shaker are both impressed 'Fac-Simile Eighteen Pounder Shrapnel Shell' and 'Patent Applied for in America & Foreign Countries'. The brass lower section is also engraved with a large upper cased 'R' for the previous owner. The brass nose cone, although a tight fit, will pull off to enable the shaker to be filled and the small nose will also pull off to reveal the pouring spout and filter. Alas, no cocktail glasses, if there ever were any but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A spectacular, very unusual piece. Base diameter 4".
