S.Withers Fireproof Safe S126
Original, quality, fireproof safe, circa 1900. In the original paintwork, with the original brass fittings, two inner drawers and keys to both door and drawers. This example has a green and black exterior with yellow coach lines to the door with matching drawer fronts and blue interior. The original paper label is still affixed to the inside door panel and details "Makers to His Majesty's Post Offices of England and India and All The Leading Banks of England". The circular brass maker's plate to the front of the door details "Samuel Wither's, West Bromwich and Birmingham". The circular brass swinging keyhole cover details very similar and the brass turning handle is in the form of a clenched fist, with a rolled document suggesting legal standard. The original paintwork inside and out is scuffed and rubbed consistent with general use, but overall is well worth retaining and all has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. One key for the door is the original and the other has been made to suit. Each of the drawers have separate keys both made to suit. Exterior 30" tall x 22" wide + 20" front to back plus fittings, interior 18.5" tall x 15" wide + 13" front to back, plus drawers.

Tin Cash Box CB5
Original, quality, late 19th century, small tin cash box in the form of a miniature tin travelling trunk. The original scrumbled bright orange / tan coloured paintwork has been retained to the outside, although a faded on the top. The interior is in Japanned black and originally had a lift out tray fitted. The brass mortice lock is stamped "Patent Lever" inside and out and "London", a replacement key has been cut to suit. The cast brass carry handle to the top is rather decorative, but also does the job well. A most unusual cash box, complete and in good and working order, with just the lift out tray missing. The brass has been polished and lacquered. 9" x 6" + 3.75" tall with handle down.

Wrought Iron Cash Box CB4
Original, quality 1920's, small but heavy wrought iron cash box, with the original key, a brass carry handle and plate to the top and much of the original paintwork. The body exterior is in gloss black, the hinged lid is decorated in gold coach lining and the interior, with its lift out two divisional tray, is in pale green. Although the finish is knocked and chipped to all but the lid, it is generally in good and working order and complete. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer can be removed at no extra cost. 8" x 6.25" + 3.5" tall.

This example is embossed "Samuel Withers and Co Ltd", "Without Which None Are Genuine" and with the lion on the crown trademark. Has two screw holes for mounting. It is polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, complete and in good order. 4.75" x 3.5".
