Original, quality, late 19th century fireproof safe, stove enamelled black gloss to the outside and cold painted primer grey to the interior. This example has two interior drawers, all the original brass fittings to the drawers and door, has been fully overhauled and has two keys for the door and one of the drawer. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order. Exterior 26" tall x 18" wide + 16" front to back, interior 17.5" tall over drawer x 13.5" wide + 10" front to back.

Small Milners Fireproof Safe S144
Original, quality, late 19th century, small fireproof safe / strongbox manufactured by Milners. This super example has been stove enamelled gloss black and the interior has been cold painted primer grey. The brass fittings to the door are original and have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All has been fully overhauled, has two keys and the original advertising label of the current range of safes manufactured by Milners is still fixed to the back of the door. The keyhole cover is embossed "Milners safe, Powder Proof, Solid Lock, Liverpool and London. Exterior 20" tall x 14" wide + 14" front to back, interior 14" tall x 8" wide + 6" front to back.

Hobbs Hart and Co Ltd Fireproof Safe on Cupboard S143
Original, quality, late 19th century, small fireproof safe in the original paintwork on the original wooden cupboard base unit made to suit. This super example manufactured by "Hobbs Hart and Co Ltd" has a plum coloured velvet lined interior to the safe with a lift out shelf and a locking drawer. The base cupboard unit has a scrumbled painted door inside and out. The safe is bolted to the cupboard but can be separated and the two long screws to fix the cupboard to the floor are also included. The brass handle to the inner drawer and the keyhole cover to the door are both embossed for the manufacturer "Hobbs Hart and Co Ltd London". The exterior original paintwork to the safe is generally very clean and in good order, but there are a few spots of paint missing from the front of the door and considerable blemishes to the top. All has been fully overhauled and all is complete and in good and working order otherwise, with two keys for the door and two keys for the drawer. A most unusual safe on stand. Safe exterior 18" tall x 14" wide + 12.5" front to back, safe interior 12.75" tall over drawer x 12" wide + 8.75" front to back, total 37.5" tall x 16" wide + 13.25" front to back.

Cash Box with Alarm CB6
Original, quality 1930's, steel cash box in the original simulated 'wood veneered' paintwork. This very clean example, with the original key, also has the original red paintwork to the interior, a lift out tray and a concealed alarm system under the false floor powered by replaceable batteries. Turn the key once to lock and twice to set the alarm and when the box is picked up the alarm is set off. Not only is the paintwork original inside and out, the original paper purchase receipt was stored in the battery area and dated December 19th 1933. Fully overhauled, complete and in good and working order. 9.5" x 7.5" + 5.25" tall.

Original, quality, late 19th century, small tin cash box in the form of a miniature tin travelling trunk. The original scrumbled bright orange / tan coloured paintwork has been retained to the outside, although a faded on the top. The interior is in Japanned black and originally had a lift out tray fitted. The brass mortice lock is stamped "Patent Lever" inside and out and "London", a replacement key has been cut to suit. The cast brass carry handle to the top is rather decorative, but also does the job well. A most unusual cash box, complete and in good and working order, with just the lift out tray missing. The brass has been polished and lacquered. 9" x 6" + 3.75" tall with handle down.

Original, quality 1920's, oval shaped cast brass maker's plaque from a fireproof safe door. This example is embossed "Patent Ratner, Fire and Thief Resisting Safe, London" and it has two screw holes for mounting, all has has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good order. 6" x 4.5".

This convex shaped example has deep embossed details for the safe makers "Ratner Safe Company Ltd, Banker's Engineers, London". Original, quality late 19th century oval shaped pressed brass makers nameplate from a fireproof safe door. This example is detailed for 'John Tanns Reliance Safe established 1795' and has a large bold relief anchor to the centre. An extra mounting hole has been drilled to the lower rim, otherwise all is polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. 9" x 7.75" x 0.5"

Oak Safe Cabinet Tea Caddy TC21
Original, quality, late 19th century, superb, well proportioned, scaled down oak cabinet in the realistic shape of a minature fireproof safe complete with brass octagonal handles, key hole covers and key. The hinged doors open to reveal one long drawer over two smaller, each with the original brass drop handles. The right hand smaller drawer is lined with silver foil and has a drop in lid, which does point towards this cabinet being a tea caddy. I have only before seen these cabinets fitted out as a smokers' cabinet with pipe racks, tobacco jar and a cigar cutter. The lock has been overhauled and the brass to the outside has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. 9.5" tall x 10" wide + 7" front to back.
