Huntley and Palmers Biscuit tin T19* Original quality pressed tin novelty biscuit tin issued in 1900. This tin is in the form of an artist's palette and in super condition with some minor rub marks to some edges and a small twist to the lid. The hinged top lid has a picture of a musician and has three simulated paint brushes in relief. The sides have various cameos of people and places. The underside is etched 'Huntley and Palmer, Biscuits, Reading and London'. Although reference books show this model with a front clasp this example shows no sign of ever having one. Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Tin T17 Original quality biscuit tin entitled 'Wembley Exhibition', manufactured for Huntley & Palmers in 1924 and available only from the Huntley & Palmers stand at the Wembly exhibtion, filled with their 'Wembley' biscuits. This tin is marked for Huntley & Palmers inside the hinged lid and, although the condition is not perfect, it is a rare tin generally in good condition with some rub marks and minor dents. 6.75" x 1.5" x 4". Huntley & Palmers Dragon Biscuit Tin T16 Original quality flat square biscuit tin with a hinged lid. Manufactured in 1907 by Huntley Bourne and Stevens for Huntley and Palmers. The lid is embossed with an oriental dragon and the sides are transfer decorated in the flat with pictures of butterflies, pheasants, cranes and koi carp. The underside is printed 'Huntley and Palmers Biscuits Reading and London'. Some minor scuffs and wear but generally very clean. 6.5" x 6.5" x 1.5". Click on photo for larger and other views. Buchanan Sweet Tin T15 Original quality pressed tin, sweet and biscuit tin, circa 1900, transfer printed to the inside of the lid for the supplier of the contents "John Buchanan & Bros, Stewart Street, Cowcaddens, Glasgow" and "Makers of confections chocolate, jams, jellies, peels and marmalades." This casket shaped tin has a lift off lid, four bun feet and is embossed with Art Nouveau designs of acanthus leaves with coloured stones and each side has a different coloured picture panel of maidens and minstrels, most playing string instruments. All in super condition with some minor scratches to the outside and rubbing to the edges of the underside of the lid. Base 7" square, top 6" square, total 8.25" tall. Crawford Biscuit Tin T13 Original quality, 1920/30's, casket shaped gold coloured biscuit tin with designs in relief, of swags to the sides and Grecian type horsemen to the top. Impressed to the underside for the contents, 'Crawford's Delightful Biscuits & Shortbread', and, 'Crawford's Gingernuts Are Outstanding' all under the Royal Appointment coat of arms.
