'Rowntrees' is printed to the rear for the manufacturer of the original cachets sweets and one side pulls off - acting as a loose lid to gain access. Huntley and Palmers Biscuit Tin T22 Original, quality, cushion shaped biscuit tin with a hinged lid, circa 1900/1920's, etched to the underside for 'Huntley and Palmers Biscuits, Reading and London'. The top panel is decorated in a parlour scene with three ladies, one child and a gentleman around a piano, and the sides of the tin and outer edges of the top are finished as drapes and curtains with swag corded tie backs. Bournville Cocoa Tin T20 Original, quality, 1920's, small flat tin given away with a sample of Cadbury's Bournville Cocoa to be used again as a match / vesta case. Transfer printed to the hinged lid with a pictorial of a tin of cocoa and impressed to the reverse 'Cadbury's Bournville' and with a match stricker section to the centre. Huntley & Palmers Biscuit tin T19 Original, quality pressed tin novelty biscuit tin issued in 1900. This tin is in the form of an artist's palette and in super condition with some minor rub marks to some edges and a small twist to the lid. The hinged top lid has a picture of a musician and has three simulated paint brushes in relief. The sides have various cameos of people and places. The underside is etched 'Huntley and Palmer, Biscuits, Reading and London'. Although reference books show this model with a front clasp this example shows no sign of ever having one.
