Boxwood Hat Measure R23* Original quality, 1920's, 5" long boxwood measure manufacturered by "Turner's Atherton & Co Ltd of Denton" and marked to one edge. One side is in inches with a slide out brass extension also in inches and the other side details the hat sizes, length and widths. An unusual hatter's measure for sizing the customer's own hat. 	Rabone No 1179 Boxwood Rule R22* Original quality, 1920's, brass bound boxwood 36" ruler stamped for the maker 'J. Rabone & Son, Birmingham England', 'Made in England' and 'No 1179'. This ruler is folded in four sections, calibrated in inches and various divisions there of and is in superb condition. Complete and in good and working order. Rabone No 1190 Boxwood Folding Ruler R19* Original quality, 1920/30's, 24" folding boxwood rule with brass mounts and an integral spirit level. Appears to have had very little use, as much of the laquer remains on the brass work. The rule is calibrated in inches and parts of, and is stamped 'Made in England', 'No 1190' and 'Warrant Best Boxwood'. Complete and in superb order. Folded 6.75" x 1.5" x 0.5" and open 24" x 0.75". Harness Maker's Knife HT4* Original quality, 1920's, steel Harness maker's round knife with a turned beech handle and a stitched leather cover. 	Cast Iron Bookpress On Stand BP4* Original quality, late 19th Century, cast iron book press, with traces of the original paintwork and the original brass fittings, mounted on an old two drawer walnut book press stand. The top trim to the base around the press has been replaced with some old teak beading. The maker's brass label fitted to the book press, details 'Jones & Carlton Stationer 47 East Cheap London". The wooden base has been re-finished and the metalwork cleaned and lacquered. All is complete and in good and working order. The walnut base unit originally would have been 2/3" taller. 	Unusual Beech Plow Plane, with 10 Irons P15 Original quality, 1920's, very unusual beech plow rebate plane with ten steel blades by various makers. Despite all its attractive brass inset plates this plane has no maker's or owner's stamps. The top aperture for the wedge has a decorative shaped inset brass surround and the wedge has a protective brass plate cover. The pair of arms have brass inset horizontal plates and the rear and fore end both have inset decorative brass plates surrounding the adjustment screws for holding the arms in position. All is complete and in good and working order. A super examples showing very little signs of use. Plane 6.75" tall x 8.5" long x 9" wide, blades 7.5" long. Price is for the set. 	Wrought Iron Grips T40* Original quality, 1920's/30's, wrought iron tool with a wooden hand grip to the centre, a controlling ring to one end and a three fingered grip. I believe this to be an implement for handling red hot items. I have also heard these referred to as glass blower's tongs and badger tongs. Can anyone confirm or inform me otherwise? Brass Plumb Bob T39 Original quality, 1920's/30's, medium sized turned brass plumb bob with a knurled screw off cap marked 'Monument Band' and with a steel central point. Impressed '7' for the size. 	Bonsa Gentleman's Toolkit T38 Original quality gentleman's pocket toolkit in the original leather fold up case. Each of the ten tools will clip into either the end or centre of the hand grip, which has ebony side covers. All are stamped with the trade name 'Bonsa' and have a registration number for the year 1890. The leather case is impressed 'A.W.G.C.' for the previous owner and 'JC Vickery Regent St London' and 'To The King and Queen' for the retailer. The tools are a chisel, bradawl, screwdriver, 2 sized gimlets, file with 2 sides, knife with cover, corkscrew, claw hammer and a saw with cover, marked with inches as a measure. Huge Elm Beetle T35 Original quality, huge, late 19th century, elm mallet known as a beetle, used to drive marquee tent pegs into the ground. The elm head has a very faint brand for previous owners and the ash shaft is fitted with a stout brass collar. All is complete and in good and working order. Marples Beech Brace T32 Original quality, late 19th century, beech wood working brace with a cocobolo head brass plates and a brass button chuck. The chuck is impressed for the maker 'W. Marples and Sons, Shefield, Hibernia' and a brass disc detailing the same is mounted in the circular rotating head. 	Beech Button Chuck Brace T30 Original quality, late 19th century, beech cabinet makers brace with a cocabola wood head and a brass button chuck. The chuck is stamped for the maker 'Thomas Ibbotson' of Sheffield and the beech body is impressed several times for the owner 'W.Coopey'. One grain chip to the wooden head and good repairs to the chuck and now all is complete and in good and working order with a good well used beech colour. 14.5" x 6" x 1.25" and head 3" diameter. Well's Unbreakable File Handle T29 Original quality, late 19th century, patent cast iron file handle fitted with a rasp. The handle details 'Wells' Unbreakable No2 File Handle', 'AC Wells & Co Patent'. This manufacturer was better known for their unbreakable oil wick workshop lamps. Wheelwrights Traveller T25 Original quality, late 19th century, wheelwrights 'Traveller' in cast iron with most of the orginal paint, black, to the grip and red to the wheel. The wheel is 24" and callibrated in 1/8 inches. All is complete and in good and working order. Used by wheelwrights to measure the outer dimensions of the wooden wheels before making and fitting the steel tyres. Unusual in cast iron. 7.75" wheel diameter x 1.25, 13" long including grip. Pair of Glove Maker's Shears T7 Pair of original quality glover maker's shears, circa 1900/1920's. Stamped to the blade for the maker 'Hill Sawtell & Co. Ltd. Yeovil' and 'No. 2' for the size. Cased Set of Drawing Instruments DI.5 Original quality, 1920's, boxed set of drawing instruments manfactured by 'Drawing Office Supplies Ltd' and marked as such to the inside of the hinged lid also marked 'Bristol Made' and 'London, Leeds, Manchester and Westminster'. This set of nickel plated instruments show's little sign of use and is fully complete with all the original matching 15 pieces each marked 'DOS Ltd'. The velvet and silk lined box again shows very little wear with just a few stains to the lining of the lid from the steel springs on some of the instruments. Case 9.5" x 5.75" x 0.75. 	Wells Cast Iron Engineers Lamp OC11* Original quality, late 19th century, cast iron, oil burning lamp. Impressed to the front 'Wells' for the maker and 'Engineers Lamp No4 Patent'. The burner does unscrew and a very long wick is still usable but the brass wick winding wheel is missing, otherwise all is complete and in good order. 3" diameter base and 5.5" tall. Pocket Spirit Level SP20 Original quality, 1920's, nickel plated on brass pocket spirit level of a hexagonal shape with a clear spirit bubble, stamped "No 185" and for the maker "The L.S.S Co Athol. 	Spirit Level In Leather Case SP17 Original quality, late 19th century, brass mounted rosewood spirit level in the original two piece leather case. The leather has shrunk a little in length but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. This is the first we have seen in a tight stitched leather case. 	E. Preston Brass & Mahogany Spirit Level SP6 Original quality stunning maghogany spirit level with brass mounts and the original tin tube with end cover. The tin case has some rust damage to the cap and it does rather scratch the level when inserted, but never the less it is unusual to find one intact. The level has a decorative window frame for the clear glass bubble and another to one end and four end corner mounts. The main brass mount is stamped with the logo and 'E.Preston Trademark' for the manufacturer, 'Warranted correct' and with the registration number for the year 1896. Rabone Boxwood Rule and Level SP3 Original quality, 1920's, boxwood 12" rule with brass plates to the ends on the underside and with an inset brass horizontal spirit level to the top surface and another vertical level to one end. Marked for the maker 'J. Rabone & Sons Birmingham' and model 'No. 1369'. Some staining and one chip to the boxwood, otherwise complete and in good and working order. 12" x 1.5" x 0.5". 	1st World War Trench Saw M30* Original quality hand chain saw in a leather wallet as issued to the British Troops in the trenches during the 1st World War, 1914 - 1918. These saws were used for shoring timbers for the trench walls. This example is complete, all original and has the pair of wooden handgrips, with brass ferrules, the sharpening file and the saw wrest for adjusting the teeth. The brass grips to the steel saw are stamped 'Francis Wood & Sons Sheffield 1917', the wrest 'Newey & Sons Ltd', the file 'Burys & Co Sheffield' and the case 'Finchmarch Bros 1916'. 	Fielding/Panel Plane by W. Deeley P10 Original quality, 19th century, skew ironed beech panel plane with a slotted fence and a depth stop. This unusual plane is in superb condition and colour and has brass mounts to the adjustable fence and depth stop. The single wide cutting iron is impressed with three crowns and 'Mitchell Wreaks & Co Patent'. The plane is also impressed 'W. England' to both the fore end and rear, for the previous owner and to the fore end for the maker 'W. Deeley' for William Deeley 1826 to 1858. 2 Iron Plane By J Gleave P9 Original quality, 19th century, beech, woodworking rebate plane, with two cutting irons and a hand grip to the rear. This very unusual plane is in superb condition and colour with a few chips to both the wedge front and one to the front corner of the sole, but otherwise, is complete and in good order. Stamped to the fore end for the maker 'Gleave, Oldham Street, Manchester' and for the previous owner 'George Henshall' to both ends. This address for J. Gleave was for 1854 to 1868, and for J.
