	Quill Cutter QC3 Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, quill cutter, with an ivory body, a nickel mount to the cutter, a steel folding knife and a steel knib tip cutter. This intricate and clever tool will turn a goose or swan's feather into a dip pen. The fine penknife (the original name), would make a slanting cut to the tip of the feather stem, the knib tip cutter would be used to remove the tip and the shaped cutter would turn the feather tip into a knib shape, with a split to the centre. This example would be carried in one's case or pocket and although there is an old short split in the ivory near the knib tip cutter, all is complete and in superb order otherwise. This is the first I have seen without a maker's name, those I have had prevously were by 'Lund and Co, of London' or 'Joseph Roger and Co, of Sheffield'. Closed 4" x 0.75" x 0.5. Quill Knife QC2 Original, quality 19th century quill knife, with a sharp steel blade, an ivory handle and the original paper-mache two piece case. These knives were used to cut a large feather to a shape suitable for use as a dipping pen. The blade is marked indistinctly for a London maker and the case has some line decoration. 	23" Paring Chisel T74 Original, quality, late 19th century, long 1" paring chisel, with a tapered octagonal oak handle and a cast ferule, with a shoulder. Marples Screwdriver T73 Original, quality 1920's, London pattern steel screwdriver, with a shaped beech handle and a brass ferule. The blade is stamped "W.Marples and Sons, Hibernia" and the woodwork is stamped for a previous owner "W.Clark". Complete and in good and working order. 21" long x 2.5" widest handle. 	Drawbore Pin T72 Original, quality, late 19th century, steel drawbore, with a good sized boxwood handle and a brass ferule. Both the ferule and the boxwood grip is stamped "HE.Chandler" for a prevous owner. Used for drawing up mortice and tenon joints in framed work, which cannot be pulled together with a cramp. 0.75" Firmer Chisel T71 Original, quality, late 19th century, 0.75" firmer chisel, with 'Best London' octagonal boxwood handle and a brass ferule. The steel is marked "Sheffield" and the handle for a previous owner 'R.J.Scott'. Ward Chisel T69 Original, quality, pre-war, 1/2", steel chisel with a 'Best Boxwood London Pattern' handle. The steel is marked for the maker 'Ward Best Steel' and 'England'. 	Cigar Box Opener T67 Original, quality, steel tool, circa 1900, for opening and closing wooden cigar crates and boxes. The blade is used to prise open the lid and the hammer is to knock it down again. The rosewood side covers to the handle are checkered for grip and the hammer is marked for the maker: 'Hill & Son, London'. All is complete and in good order. 6.75" x 1.25" x 0.5". Ransomes Toolbox T66 Original, quality, all wooden, pre-war toolbox with the original green paint overall, a hasp to the front for a padlock and a hinged top lid, transfer detailed 'Ransomes' in a red banner. Pair of Glove Maker's Shears T7 Pair of original, quality glover maker's shears, circa 1900/1920's. Stamped to the blade for the maker 'Hill Sawtell & Co. Ltd. Yeovil' and 'No. 2' for the size. 	Gentleman's Hand Axe A1 Original, late 19th Century, superb, small hand axe of the utmost quality, in the original leather case with a belt loop. This steel tomahawk style axe has a wedge shaped blade, a solid hammer behind and is mounted with a steel plate shaft, with rosewood side covers and checkered hand grips. A short split in the grain to one side of the wooden grip, between two of the three rivets, is the only fault I can find. 	Boxwood Rule & Level SP36 Original, quality 1920's boxwood 18" rule with brass plates to the ends on the underside and with both vertical and horizontal spirit levels with green bubbles. This rule is calibrated both sides in inches and parts there of, and is marked "No 1372" for the model and "J. Rabone & Sons Birmingham" for the maker. Mahogany Spirit Level SP35 Original, quality, late 19th Century, mahogany spirit level with a brass top plate and end plates, a clear glass bubble to the top and end and a through sight line. The brass plates are mounted with steel screws, the top plate has a decorative shaped cut out for the bubble and is engraved with a crown and "Hill No 10 George St Birmingham" for the maker. The mahogany body is impressed "J.Day" for a previous owner and brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. Marples Mahogany Spirit Level SP23 Original, quality, late 19th Cerntury, superb, mahogany spirit level with brass top, base and end plates; fitted with countersunk steel screws, a horizontal and a vertical level and a line of sight viewer, through the length. The top plate, with decorative view 'cut out' to the bubble, is engraved 'J. Hutchinson 1897' for the original owner, 'W. Marples Hibernia' for the manufacturer and 'Warranted Correct'. 	E. Preston Brass & Mahogany Spirit Level SP6 Original, quality stunning maghogany spirit level with brass mounts and the original tin tube with end cover. The tin case has some rust damage to the cap and it does rather scratch the level when inserted, but never the less it is unusual to find one intact. The level has a decorative window frame for the clear glass bubble and another to one end and four end corner mounts. The main brass mount is stamped with the logo and 'E.Preston Trademark' for the manufacturer, 'Warranted correct' and with the registration number for the year 1896. Stanley Victor No. 20 Plane P28 Original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron, fully adjustable compass or circular plane. Embossed to the front ball grip "Stanley" and to the adjusting knob "Victor No.20". The sole is a flexible steel plate, adjustable to any required curve, convex or concave. Much of the original plating to the surface has long gone, but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. 10" x 2.5" x 5.25" tall, cutting blade 1.75" wide. 	Grannys Tooth Router P26 Original, quality, late 19th century, old woman's tooth router plane in beech, with a 5/8" cutting iron. Spiers Smoothing Plane P25 Original, quality, late 19th century, metal body smoothing plane, with a 2" iron, a brass lever cap, rosewood infill and closed saw grip handle. The two piece iron is stamped "J.Howarth" for the maker of the iron, and the cast brass screw down lever cap is marked "Spiers Ayr" for the maker of the plane. 	Brass Shoulder Plane P21 Original, quality, late 19th Century, cast brass shoulder plane in the 'Yorkshire Pattern', with the original steel 1 1/8" blade and rosewood infill and wedge. Shoulder planes were designed to clean rebates, shoulders of tenons etc, across the grain. This superb example has no maker's name, only the owner's name - 'T. Weston' - stamped to both the infill and wedge. Complete and in good and working order; the best example we have had for some time. Body 9.5" x 1 1/8" and 3" high, total 11" long including blade. 	Beech Moulding Plane P13 Original, quality, late 18th or early 19th century, beech moulding plane with the original iron and wedge. Many previous owner stamps but none for the maker. Fielding/Panel Plane by W. Deeley P10 Original, quality, 19th century, skew ironed beech panel plane with a slotted fence and a depth stop. This unusual plane is in superb condition and colour and has brass mounts to the adjustable fence and depth stop. The single wide cutting iron is impressed with three crowns and 'Mitchell Wreaks & Co Patent'. The plane is also impressed 'W. England' to both the fore end and rear, for the previous owner and to the fore end for the maker 'W. Deeley' for William Deeley 1826 to 1858. 	Meccano Mini Copper Oil Can OC24 Original, quality, 1920's, superb miniature 'kayes patent' copper oil can with a screw off top brass cap, a pressure button, a rear looped grip and the long spout. This example is impressed with a 'K' to one side for the manufacturer and 'Meccano' to the underside. A wonderful object, these were included in the boxes of the larger kits of meccano free of charge. All is polished and lacquered and complete and in good and working order. 4" x 0.75" and 1" high. Kayes Patent Oil Can OC5 Original quality, late 19th century, very long, conical shaped, steel oil can with a brass sprung plunger and a brass screw-in end filler cap. It is embossed 'K' in upper case to one side panel. Said to have been used for Railway maintenance but not marked as such. 	GWR Copper Glue Pot R37 Original, quality 1920's, two piece copper glue pot with brass wire handles. Both the pot and lift out liner are stamped "GWR" for 'Great Western Railway' and although all is very dented this example is complete and in good and usable condition. Verners Sight Rule R34 Original, quality boxwood rule with fold down sides in brass and a lock on or off compass, secured with a brass cover engraved "W.H Harling London No144", "1901" and "WD". The underside has the manufacturer's details including "Verners Improved, Sight Rule" and the registration number for the year 1895. A superb boxwood gauge with its original brown leather case. 	Boxwood 12" Rule R25 Original, quality, 1920's, three sided boxwood 12" rule / measure. Each side has different calibrations; 1", 3/32", 3/16", 1 ½", 3/4", 3/8", 1/4", 1/8", and 1/2". The centre of each side has a groove end to end and one side is marked 'V.B. London Make'. All is complete and in good and working order. 12.75" long and each side 7/8". Rabone No 1179 Boxwood Rule R22 Original, quality, 1920's, brass bound boxwood 36" ruler stamped for the maker 'J. Rabone & Son, Birmingham England', 'Made in England' and 'No 1179'. 	Boxwood Watchglass Gauge R16 Original, quality, 1920's, boxwood gauge, with a shaped hand grip and a brass stop. Calibrated equally to both sides 0 to 5 to 10 to 15 up to 45. E. Preston No 3854 Boxwood Rule R15 Original, quality, 1920's, 36" folding boxwood rule, with brass fittings, calibrated in inches and fractions thereof. Stamped for the maker 'E.Preston & Sons, Birmingham, England', 'No 3854' for the model and 'Warranted Best Boxwood'. 1st World War Trench Saw M30 Original, quality hand chain saw in a leather wallet as issued to the British Troops in the trenches during the 1st World War, 1914 - 1918. These saws were used for shoring timbers for the trench walls. This example is complete, all original and has the pair of wooden handgrips, with brass ferrules, the sharpening file and the saw wrest for adjusting the teeth. The brass grips to the steel saw are stamped 'Francis Wood & Sons Sheffield 1917', the wrest 'Newey & Sons Ltd', the file 'Burys & Co Sheffield' and the case 'Finchmarch Bros 1916'. 	Cast Iron Shoe Last CL1 Original, quality mid 19th century three piece cast iron cobblers (shoe mender / maker) last. The circular base is decorated with a petal shaped outer edge and has two countersunk screw holes for mounting to the bench, a square shaped aperture to house the slender last and a separate heel pin.
