Original quality, late 19th Century, cast iron book press, with traces of the original paintwork and the original brass fittings, mounted on an old two drawer walnut book press stand. The top trim to the base around the press has been replaced with some old teak beading. The maker's brass label fitted to the book press, details 'Jones & Carlton Stationer 47 East Cheap London". The wooden base has been re-finished and the metalwork cleaned and lacquered. All is complete and in good and working order. The walnut base unit originally would have been 2/3" taller. The press will lift off the base to ease removal. Base top 23" x 18" front to back, total height with press 37". Visible area 15" x 10" x 3" tall.

Original quality, 1920's, very unusual beech plow rebate plane with ten steel blades by various makers. Despite all its attractive brass inset plates this plane has no maker's or owner's stamps. The top aperture for the wedge has a decorative shaped inset brass surround and the wedge has a protective brass plate cover. The pair of arms have brass inset horizontal plates and the rear and fore end both have inset decorative brass plates surrounding the adjustment screws for holding the arms in position. All is complete and in good and working order. A super examples showing very little signs of use. Plane 6.75" tall x 8.5" long x 9" wide, blades 7.5" long. Price is for the set.

Original quality gentleman's pocket toolkit in the original leather fold up case. Each of the ten tools will clip into either the end or centre of the hand grip, which has ebony side covers. All are stamped with the trade name 'Bonsa' and have a registration number for the year 1890. The leather case is impressed 'A.W.G.C.' for the previous owner and 'JC Vickery Regent St London' and 'To The King and Queen' for the retailer. The tools are a chisel, bradawl, screwdriver, 2 sized gimlets, file with 2 sides, knife with cover, corkscrew, claw hammer and a saw with cover, marked with inches as a measure. All is complete and in good and working order. A super set. Handle. 3.75" x 1" x 0.75", closed 4.5" x 4.5" x 1". Price is for the set.

Original quality, 1920's, boxed set of drawing instruments manfactured by 'Drawing Office Supplies Ltd' and marked as such to the inside of the hinged lid also marked 'Bristol Made' and 'London, Leeds, Manchester and Westminster'. This set of nickel plated instruments show's little sign of use and is fully complete with all the original matching 15 pieces each marked 'DOS Ltd'. The velvet and silk lined box again shows very little wear with just a few stains to the lining of the lid from the steel springs on some of the instruments. Case 9.5" x 5.75" x 0.75.

Original quality stunning maghogany spirit level with brass mounts and the original tin tube with end cover. The tin case has some rust damage to the cap and it does rather scratch the level when inserted, but never the less it is unusual to find one intact. The level has a decorative window frame for the clear glass bubble and another to one end and four end corner mounts. The main brass mount is stamped with the logo and 'E.Preston Trademark' for the manufacturer, 'Warranted correct' and with the registration number for the year 1896. The tin case has been cleaned, lacquered and looks unused, complete and in working order, and is in super condition. level 18" x 2" x 1".

Original quality, 1920's, boxwood 12" rule with brass plates to the ends on the underside and with an inset brass horizontal spirit level to the top surface and another vertical level to one end. Marked for the maker 'J. Rabone & Sons Birmingham' and model 'No. 1369'. Some staining and one chip to the boxwood, otherwise complete and in good and working order. 12" x 1.5" x 0.5".

Original quality hand chain saw in a leather wallet as issued to the British Troops in the trenches during the 1st World War, 1914 - 1918. These saws were used for shoring timbers for the trench walls. This example is complete, all original and has the pair of wooden handgrips, with brass ferrules, the sharpening file and the saw wrest for adjusting the teeth. The brass grips to the steel saw are stamped 'Francis Wood & Sons Sheffield 1917', the wrest 'Newey & Sons Ltd', the file 'Burys & Co Sheffield' and the case 'Finchmarch Bros 1916'. This example is the best we have seen, appears not to have been used and is in superb order. Case 7" x 6.5" x 1.5".

Original quality, 19th century, skew ironed beech panel plane with a slotted fence and a depth stop. This unusual plane is in superb condition and colour and has brass mounts to the adjustable fence and depth stop. The single wide cutting iron is impressed with three crowns and 'Mitchell Wreaks & Co Patent'. The plane is also impressed 'W. England' to both the fore end and rear, for the previous owner and to the fore end for the maker 'W. Deeley' for William Deeley 1826 to 1858. All is superb and complete and in good and working order. 9" x 3.75" x 6." high.

Original quality, 19th century, beech, woodworking rebate plane, with two cutting irons and a hand grip to the rear. This very unusual plane is in superb condition and colour with a few chips to both the wedge front and one to the front corner of the sole, but otherwise, is complete and in good order. Stamped to the fore end for the maker 'Gleave, Oldham Street, Manchester' and for the previous owner 'George Henshall' to both ends. This address for J. Gleave was for 1854 to 1868, and for J. Gleave & Son 1869 to 1913. 12.25" x 7" high x 2.75".
