Original, quality post - war or earlier '2 Cwt', wrought iron anvil on the original wrought iron stand. This superb example is embossed to the side "2 Cwt JB England" and to the other "10 2KGS". Has a good clean nose and working surface and two aperture for accessories. Some minor knocks to one top edge and complete and in good and working order. Anvil 12" tall x 27.5" x 4.5". Base of anvil 11.5" x 9.5". Stand 13.5" tall and 17.5" square on floor. Total height 24".

Original, quality, pre-war, near unused hedging slasher with a good sized blade and a super shaped hickory shaft. The blacksmith made wrought iron blade is impressed "Elwell" for the maker and "3804" for the model. The metalwork has been cleaned and lacquer and the shaft waxed. Original, quality, late 19th century, llibrarian's book grab, used for reaching books from the upper shelves. This example has a mahogany pole with a cast iron lever to one end and brass pincer action grips to the other. The cast brass gripper action is in the original lacquered, unpolished and part gilded finish as is the lower backplate to the lever action. This can be polished back to brass if required. A great book grab, not easy to find today and complete and in good and working order. 49.5" long x 4" + 1.5".

Original, quality, 19th century, carpet stretcher in wrought iron and cast iron, with the original turned fruitwood handle and brass ferrule. The cast iron arm to the base spikes is embossed with US patent details "Pat June 13.1876". Much of the original black paint finish has remained and all is complete and in good order. Original, quality 1920's, brass oil can / squirt, as used with motor vehicles, motor cycles and other machines. This flat and circular example has no names for the maker, but is in super condition, with a long circular spout, a screw on / off filler cap and a screw on cover to the spout. The spout cover is a replacement made to suit and all is complete and in good and working order. This can is operated by finger squeezing the sides together and out. Original, quality, Wells unbreakable cast iron workshop lamp fired by colza / vegetable oil, circa 1900 / 1910. This large example has the remains of the rope wick still in position and its screw off lid and swing handle. The lid has the original wire retaining strap and has some repairs. One side of this lamp is impressed "Wells Unbreakable", "A G Wells and Co" and "No 18". A very clean example near unused, now cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good order. 7.5" tall with handle down, base 5.5" diameter, 9.5 widest including spout.

Original, quality 1920's smoothing plane with a steel body, a brass lever cap, the original two piece cutting blade and the original mahogany infill with a closed grip to the rear. The blades are impressed "Norris London" and the lever cap "Norris A6 London patent adjustable". The wooden infill is also stamped for a previous owner "F.H Arnold". We have not over cleaned this plane as much of the original finish has been retained and all is complete and in good and working order. The best condition Norris we have had to date. 9.5" long, 2.75" wide sole, 6" tall and 2.25" cutting iron.

Original, quality, mid 18th century, beech 1/4" rounding plane of the moulding shape with the original iron and wedge. This super clean plane stamped "4" to the rear end is stamped to the fore end for the plane maker "John Green of London", a plane maker from 1754. Original, quality, mid 18th century, beech 3/4" rounding plane of the moulding shape, with the original iron and wedge. The base of this plane has been altered and shaped into a compass shape. Many owners names are stamped to both ends, but is stamped "J Cogdell" within a zig zag block to the fore end for the maker John Cogdell, a plane maker in London from 1750 to 1770. Apart from the alteration all is complete and in good and working order. 10" long x 6" tall in total + 0.75" wide.

Original, quality, 19th century, skew ironed beech panel plane with a slotted fence and a depth stop. This unusual plane is in superb condition and colour and has brass mounts to the adjustable fence and depth stop. The single wide cutting iron is impressed with three crowns and 'Mitchell Wreaks & Co Patent'. The plane is also impressed 'W. England' to both the fore end and rear, for the previous owner and to the fore end for the maker 'W. Deeley' for William Deeley 1826 to 1858. All is superb and complete and in good and working order. 9" x 3.75" x 6." high.

This example was used to swell out the mouth of lead pipes for joining and would be tapped over the mouth of the pipe thus stretching it to a flared end. A great piece of turned Treen. Original, quality 1920's, huge plumber's lead dressing dolly in lignum vitae. These were used by plumbers to dress roofing leadwork and drainpipes etc. Lignum Vitae is heavy and hard and one of the few woods that with not float. This example is the largest we have seen and has a super detailed grain, showing two extreme colour variances. The side is impressed with the trade mark of two columns and "Monument Brand". A very unusual item in great condition. 14.75" x 4" diameter.

Original, quality 1920's / 30's huge wide steel shovel, with a short ash shaft and a steel 'D' handle with an ash grip. This super shovel has very little signs of use if any and was probably used for coke or other light weight goods. The shovel head is stamped "A and E Parkes and Co Ltd Banthdormen Street Birmingham" for the manufacturer and "all steel, wheel brand" and "made in England". Original, quality, 1/4" gouge chisel with cranked steel tool, the original turned ash handle and a brass ferrule. The steel is stamped "Stoumont" for the maker and "1943", with the war department broad arrow stamp. Appears unused and is complete and in good and working order. 15.5" x 7/8" diameter handle. Another matching gouge may well be available, reference code: T90.

Wheelwrights Traveller T87
Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, all brass wheelwright's traveller in the original patinated unpolished green colour. These were used to measure around the outside of a wooden cart or coach wheel before making the correct size wrought iron tyre. This super example is calibrated to the outer rim of the wheel and is stamped "S. Evans, Bagshot", this could be the previous owner, the wheelwright using it or the maker of the traveller. Complete and in good and working order. Disc 6.5" diameter, total 12.75" long.

Brades Adze T80
Original, quality, late 19th century, wrought iron adze, with the original shaped elm shaft. The head is impressed "Brades and Co Warranted 2" and the shaft has a few well treated minor worm holes. The rear of the socket of the head is fitted with a pin and all is complete and in good and working order. 28" tall, head 4" x 10.5".

Original, quality, early to mid 19th century, blacksmith made wrought iron billhook iron, with great forging marks and impressed with the maker "J.Pike Thatcham". The wooden handgrip is long gone, but a beauty otherwise. Has been cleaned and waxed. 18.25" x 4", blade 2" approx.
