Original quality curved cast iron plaque from a telegraph pole, pre 1922. Detailing 'LYR' (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway) and "Persons Throwing Stones at the Telegraphs Will Be Prosecuted". This example has four corner countersunk screw holes for mounting and has been cleaned and repainted in gloss black with gold letters, not necessarily the original colours. A very unusual item. Complete and in good order.7.5" x 5" x 1.5" front to back.

Railway Guards Oil Lantern R14*
Original quality, 1940's/50's railway guards oil hand lantern in steel with brass mounts. This example has a turning lens to show clear light, blue or red and has a brass maker's plate to the outside detailing "G.Polkey Ltd Birmingham" and a tin oval plate detailing "BR(W)". All has been cleaned and repainted and is complete and in good and working order. Another very similar lamp may be available ref code R13. 12.5" tall x 5" x 7" front to back.

Original quality, post war horn, marked to the black celluloid near the flare 'BR ACME registered, Made in England'. This horn has two hanging eyes for a cord/strap and a nickel plated mouthpiece containing the reed. A very loud horn which has seen very little use. Said to be used by plate layer lookouts to sound alarm when a train is on the line. An unusual railway item, the first we have seen. 'ACME' is the same firm who made the police and similar whistles and the 'ACME Thunderer'. 14.75" long x 2.25" widest.

Original quality, late 19th century, steel door key, with a long shank and 'GWR' for the Great Western Railway stamped to the flattened bow. Believed to be the key to a door on a signal box. Complete and in good and working order. 5.5" x 1.25" wide bow.

Said to have been used for Railway maintenance but not marked as such. Some very minor dents but otherwise in superb condition and in working order. 30" long x 2" base diameter.
