	Railway Platform Luggage Barrow R31 Original, quality, 1920's, heavy wooden sack truck, with a wrought iron front toe and wheel guards and cast iron wheels. The woodwork is in an old yellow over green paintwork and, although showing many worm holes, it is very sturdy and usable and it would be advisable to treat the worm occasionally, just in case. Otherwise all is complete and in good and working order, and would benefit from a clean up. Widest plus axle 18.5", 40" tall and 24" front to back. Click on photo for larger and other views. GWR Registration Plate R30 Original, quality, circular, cast iron registration plate detailed in relief: '1948, Standard 20 tons, 7522. Registered by the GW Ry Co', for the Great Western Railway Company. These plates were carried by wagons to advise the date of its manufacture, the weight it could carry, where it was registered for use and its registration number. In the original brown and cream GWR colours and with two countersunk screw holes for mounting. All is complete and in good order. 6.75" x 0.5". Click on photo for larger and other views. 	GWR Blanket R27 Original, quality, deep maroon coloured blanket, circa 1900, decorated with the circular logo for The Great Western Railway. This example is bright in colour but has moth damage in several areas. Nevertheless, a great souvenir of this great railway. 	Railway Enamel Notice R25 Original, quality pre-war, red-on-white enamel notice, detailing 'The Railway Executive' and 'Passengers Must Not Cross The Line Here'. Southern Railway Enamel Sign R18 Original, quality, pre-war, red on white rectangular enamel sign detailing 'Southern Railway', 'Danger Don't Touch Conductor Rails'. 	Signal Box Control Plaque R17 Original, quality, 1920's, cast brass plate from the inside of the original railway signal box at Kintbury in Berkshire on the GWR line. This example is detailed '17', 'Disc for No 16' and '16', and has an old repair using another similar plate. Has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. 4.5" x 1.5" x 1" front to back. Two other similar plates from the same signal box may be available, item codes R15 and R16. Kayes Patent Oil Can OC5* Original quality, late 19th century, very long, conical shaped, steel oil can with a brass sprung plunger and a brass screw-in end filler cap. It is embossed 'K' in upper case to one side panel. Said to have been used for Railway maintenance but not marked as such. 	GWR Door Handle DH754 Original, quality, cast brass door handle with a segmented, circular form knob, circa 1900, on a large circular backplate with two countersunk screw holes for mounting and 'GWR' impressed to one edge for the Great Western Railway. This knob was originally on the inside of a railway carriage door, but would also fit a standard mortice or rim lock. A great piece of railway memorabilia; complete and in good and working order. Railway Door Handle DH736 Original, quality cast brass door handle with a segmented circular form knob, circa 1900, on a larger petal shaped backplate with three countersunk screw holes for mounting. The backplate is impressed 'Kayes Patent' for the adjustable system, and 'S.E. & C.R.' for the 'South Eastern & Chatham Railway'. This single door knob was originally on the inside of a railway carriage door, but would also fit a standard rim or mortice lock. 	GWR Signal Box Key K20* Original, quality, late 19th century, steel door key, with a long shank and 'GWR' for the Great Western Railway stamped to the flattened bow. Cast Iron Plaque For a Telegraph Pole S67 Original, quality curved cast iron plaque from a telegraph pole, pre 1922. Detailing 'LYR' (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway) and "Persons Throwing Stones at the Telegraphs Will Be Prosecuted". This example has four corner countersunk screw holes for mounting and has been cleaned and repainted in gloss black with gold letters, not necessarily the original colours. A very unusual item. 	Salters Railway Parcel Balance S108* Original, quality, 1920's, cast iron parcel scale with a flat steel weighing slab and a circular brass dial with a central pointer. The face is calibrated in pounds and ounces up to 56lb and is impressed "Salter's Improved Railway Parcel Balance No22, Silvesters Patent" and "Made in England" with the knotted rope (the trade mark of Salter and Co). All has been cleaned, lacquered and fully overhauled, complete, working and superb order. An unusual example the first we have seen.
