Original, quality, 1920's, blacksmith made, wrought iron, double sprung, mammal trap with swivel sprung mounts and embossed 'Li-Lo' to the bait plate. Manufactured by H. Lane. Cleaned, waxed, in super condition and complete, but illegal to use. 23" x 8" x 5.75" tall and with 8" jaws.

Wrought Iron Pole Trap T45
Original, quality, 19th Century, blacksmith made, wrought iron pole trap. This is of the fairly standard size, widely used in the 19th and early 20th Century to catch hawks and owls. This example is very pitted from weather damage, has a repair to the rather weak spring and some rust holes to the bait plate, but otherwise, it is complete and has been cleaned and lacquered. But, of course, these are illegal to use. 5" diameter and 6" widest excluding chain, 4.5" jaws and 3" total height.

Original, quality soft cover bound book 'Practical Trapping' by W Carnegie, published in the 1920's we think, by L. Upcott Gill, Bazaar Buildings, Drury Lane, London W.C. This book has nine detailed chapters on the trapping of vermin and birds and appears complete, but the front cover has become detatched, otherwise all is in good order. 7.25" x 4.75" x 0.5".

Wrought Iron Vermin Trap T39
Original, quality, 19th century, blacksmith made, wrought iron, spring trap with semi-circular jaws with spikes and a single spring action fashioned from an old rasp. The top arm is punch engraved 'P.L' for the maker, is lightly burnished and is complete and in good order, but illegal to use. Jaws 5.5" x 5.5" and total 14" x 5.5" x 4" high.

Poachers Alarm Gun T32
Original, quality, late 19th century, poachers alarm, operated by a trip wire that releases the top weight which falls onto the firing cap to set off the blank 12 bore cartridge. The firing cap is a replacement made to suit, copied from an original, otherwise all is original, complete and in good and working order. 38" long x1.75" x 2.75".

Gamekeeper's Swingle Stick SS1
Original, quality, mid to late 19th Century, turned boxwood, gamekeeper or poacher's club/swingle stick. The ball end is weighted with lead and is fixed to the main shaft with a leather neck, giving a flexible weight for harder impact. All is in super condition with a grooved hand grip. Hard to find today. Complete and in good order. Total length 20", shaft 1.25" diameter and ball 2.25" diameter.
