Huge Salt Glazed Harvest Jug
See our "Jugs" section for current stock of similar items.

Original, quality huge early 19th century salt glazed stoneware harvest jug in two-toned glazed colours of coffee brown to the upper section and buff colour to the lower. This jug is covered in good detail in relief, of hounds chasing a fox with horses and riders, a large palm tree, Doctor Foster with his umbrella, George slaying the Dragon, an oak tree, a large Windmill and two figures drinking ale. Having described what a fantastic jug this is in detail and in size, it has been substantially repaired and the lower section has been in several pieces. All can be clearly seen in the pictures and in the flesh. Although the handle appears intact, there is very minor chip to the spout. Above all it is a serious jug of considerable age and a great looker.

13" tall x 11".

12" wide including handle.
