This wonderful example has coloured pictorial panels to the top and three sides and decoration to all the edges of both the base and cover and both pieces are stamped with the registration number for the year 1891. First, the very detailed panels. The top depicts a scene from the Aesop's fable The Fox and The Crow', with the fable printed within ribbon swags. The other side panel has a rat on the billiard table with a picture on the wall of 'Welsh Rabbits' and the reverse is entitled "Wise Man of Gotham" with a scene from 'The Merry Tales of The Mad Men of Gotham'. The scene shows three cheeses rolling down the hill.
