Original, quality late 19th century cast iron oil lamp base with a white glass font and a brass double 1" wick burner. This unusual lamp has a very detailed cast iron base with brass mounts and an opaline white glass font and clear glass chimney. The shade and holder is not included in the price but may well be available ref code: OS156. The underside of the base is impressed with the registration number for the year 1896 and all has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. The cast iron has been cleaned and lacquered and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 26.5" tall including chimney + 18" without, base 6.5" square plus font 15" diam.

Original, quality 1920's oak tabletop knife cleaner with an oval ceramic maker's plaque detailing "Crowden & Garrod Manufacturer & Merchants, Falcon House London S.E." and with the "Falcon" trademark. This knife cleaner has a cast iron stand, a turning handle, brass and bone insert frames for each knife and a turned oak bung for the filling aperture. These machines were for cleaning the old steel knives, not stainless steel and not for sharpening them. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. A good looking example still working. Total 18" tall x 14" wide including handle and 18" wide at stand plus body 18.5" diam.

Original, quality pre-war money box in a green finish as issued by "Midland Bank Ltd". This near unused example is fashioned to resemble a leather bound book and with a brass inner body. The coin slot is to the front edge is stamped "Tala" for the manufacturer and the underside edge has a recessed lock for a key and a hole marked "for notes". All is in super condition but without a key, which were held normally by the Bank. 5" x 3.5" x 1".

These scales are in the original paintwork, transfer printed for the maker "Berry & Warmington Ltd" and with the original brass pans and covers to the joints. The cast iron body is embossed "to weigh 2lbs" and the stack of six old brass weights are graduated 1lbs to ½ ounce. All has been cleaned, fully overhauled and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and are complete and in good and working order. A stack of eight brass weights is included and from 4lb down to ¼ ounce and the scale beam and the column are both stamped for the manufacturer "Parnall & Sons of Bristol". Original, quality late 19th century grocers' / butchers' counter scale with a blacksmith made wrought iron centre column on a decorative cast iron base and mounted with the brass beam scale. This example has three brass chain rods with a heavy cast brass pan for the weights to one side and a circular porcelain plate to the other with a brass frame support. A stack of old brass weights and a 2lb and 1lb brass bell shaped weight are included. The ceramic slab is transfer printed for "W&T Avery of Birmingham" the manufacturer of the scale and the horizontal brass beam is stamped for the same, back and front. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all will dismantle into nine pieces for ease of transport and all is complete and in good and working order. A super all original set of scales. 30.5" tall x 26" wide x 10" front to back. Ceramic slab 10" diam.

This example is covered in decoration with a grey coloured detail of repeated scenes of a lakeside castle. The underside is transfer printed "Rhine" for the pattern and "W&B" for the maker. The inside of the bowl is a little crazed and stained and the underside of the plate has a blemish to the finish (a line in the glazing), otherwise complete and in good order. 6.5" tall x 8.5" x 6.25".

Original, quality late 19th century engraved brass postal scales mounted on the original shaped walnut plinth with the original fitted glass inkwell and old replacement brass weights. This most unusual example is the first we have seen. The brass scales are engraved with flowers and leaf designs to the front and top, the inkwell is in moulded glass with a cast brass hinge and collar to the lid and the walnut plinth is mounted on three bun feet. The weights are of the correct number and denomination but the originals would have been engraved. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order. 12" x 9.5" x 5.5" tall.

Original, quality late 19th century brass framed ebony "Ultimatum" brace manufactured by William Marples of Sheffield. They do not come much better than this model or indeed this item. A top craftsman made, working tool. The wood infill is ebony and the frame, chuck and neck of the head are in cast brass. The brass side plates are impressed "William Marples Sole Manufacturers of the Ultimatum framed brace, Sheffield" with The Royal Coat of Arms and "By Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent" and the trademark "Hibernia" for W. Marples. The top of the ebony head has an inset disc also embossed with the maker's details. All original and complete and in good and working order. 13.5" x 5" x 1.25". Head 2.75" diam x 1".

This good example has two bands of grapes on vines embossed to the coffee coloured glazed areas, an embossed swag to the front for the name of the spirit and an embossed Royal Coat of Arms of a form. The barrel is also impressed '4' for the size and for the manufacturer "Port Dundas Glasgow Pottery". There is an aperture to the bottom front for a tap and of course an aperture to the top for filling. All is complete and in good order, with not a chip in sight. 15" tall x 15" x 12".
