Reynolds & Co London". Will take a standard modern square bar for the handles. A replacement keep has been made to suit and a replacement key cut to fit. This lock has the provision for a handle turn and a key lock but not suitable for oval shaped door knobs. The brass key bar is impressed to both sides with a registration lozenge mark for the year 1879. Cleaned and lacquered, fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order. Original, quality late 19th century Corinthian column oil side lamp in the original silver plated finish with very little signs of wear. This example has all the original fittings with a Messenger's patent twin 1" wick burner with a snuffer lever and lifting key for the gallery to enable the lamp to be lit without removing the shade and chimney. The burner has the control on one stem, this is embossed "A NSCL" and "Messengers Patent" and again on the collar of the silver plated font. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. Original, quality late 19th century cast iron coffee grinder with a brass maker's plate to the front detailing "Archibald Kenrick & Sons Ltd West Bromwich", a brass knob to the pull out drawer, a brass hopper to the top and a cranked cast iron handle with a turned hardwood knob. The side lugs enable the grinder to be fixed to a shelf and the grind can be adjusted from the underside when the drawer is removed. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and the ironwork cleaned and repainted. Brass Honesty Box MB49
Original, quality, 19th century sheet brass tobacco dispensing box. Originally used in Tavern and Ale Houses on bars or on tables, permitting the smoker to obtain a pipeful of tobacco for 1d. Although often referred to as Georgian, this model will only take a penny of the type used in the Victorian period or later. The rectangular box is mounted on four ball feet and has two hinged lids. The left hand compartment beneath the slot is for the coins and can only be opened with the key, the right hand compartment is for the tobacco and can only be accessed by placing a 1d coin in the slot or when the left hand side is unlocked. Smokers wishing to gain access to the tobacco would put a penny in the slot, press down the button and the lid of the tobacco compartment would spring open. One was trusted to shut the lid when a pipeful was taken, or a fine would be made, hence the nickname "Honesty Box". The loop handle to the centre of the top is well positioned for a balanced lift and the steel key is an old replacement altered to suit. A superb, honesty box, complete and in good and working order with ten old pennies included. 7" tall including handle. 9.5" x 5".

Original, quality late 19th century glazed stoneware Doulton jug with a relief portrait of the Jockey Fred Archer to the front. This super jug also has a decorative handle, a pouring lip and is impressed "Reft from our midst, by untimely fate. Pledge me his spirit, before we sup. Pledge me one, who.. through life was straight. Straight as he rode for the plate or cup, Ah! Death's pale horse must have felt elate, as he sped through the shadows with archer up". This special jug was manufactured by Doulton for "John Mortlock & Co, Oxford Street London" in 1886 and is impressed as such to the underside of the foot. All is complete and perfect and of a good colour. 6.75" tall, 5.5" widest and 7" including handle.

Original, quality Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin in the realistic form of a bag in simulated grey lizard skin entitled "Satchel". This example was issued in 1908 and is complete and in good order with some minor fading and minor rubbing but not a dent in sight. The inside of the lid is etched "Huntley & Palmers Biscuits Reading & London" and the underside of the body is marked with the registration number for the year 1908. 5" tall with handle down x 8" wide and 3.25" front to back.

Original, quality Second World War aircraft propeller hub in laminated mahogany originally with four propeller fins. This example has been trimmed down and could now be mounted with a clock, mirror or photograph. This has eight bolt holes and is impressed around the rim "T6296", "B.N. No 480", "12cy1. RAFAA" and "RE8" and stamped in black "A.1.D.700". A very clean example, in good order. 8.5" tall, 12" wide at base, 3.5" front to back and inner aperture 3.75".
