The unglazed ribbed lower section is a warning to the blind or partially sighted that this is not to be drunk.

Great to be a pair of the same colour.

Original, quality late 19th century Scottish stoneware lard tub, decorated around with impressed bead and ribbed patterns and with side handles. This good example is impressed for the manufacturer "A.W Buchan & Co. Portobello Scotland" and to the front in blue type for the supplier of the contents "Irvine R. Stirling Family Grocer, Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchant 2 St. Leonard Street Edinburgh". These lard and butter tubs originally had waxed card lids. This is a very detailed example but it does have a hairline crack to the base but is complete and in good order otherwise.

Original, quality 1920' moulded amber coloured glass fire grenade, embossed to the front "Haywards hand fire grenade". These grenades were original filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown into a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. This clean albeit empty bottle has no chips or cracks and is complete and in good order otherwise.

Original, quality, late 19th century, blue moulded glass fire grenade, with the top seal intact and the original contents. These grenades were originally filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown into a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. This example is embossed with the star logo to the front and "Star" and "Hardens Fire Grenade, Fire Extinguisher" and to the underside with the registration number for the year 1884 and has a uneven moulded underside and will only free stand at an angle. A good clean example of this bright blue grenade with one sizeable chip to the top rim otherwise complete and in good order.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, blue glass fire grenades with the original wire rack to take three grenades. Both bottles are perfect, one is empty and the other is still sealed with most of the original contents and some of the original paper label. These grenades were usually filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate. The whole grenade was thrown onto a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. The wire rack was designed to sit on a shelf or hang on a nail on the wall. Not common examples, complete and in good order.

Doulton Aquarius Tilting Wash Jug J146
Original, quality late 19th century Tilting Toilet Jug on the original cast iron stand. The Toilet Aquarius was an invention by J.J. Royle of Manchester and manufactured by Royal Doulton. This example was manufactured between 1891 and 1902 and was a special commission for Abram French & Co of Boston USA. The cast iron stand has been painted white in the past which could be removed if required and bears the registration date of 1902. The jug has various transfer printed details to the underside and is decorated top side with yellow chrysanthemums and acanthus leaves detail. Both the jug and the cast iron stand are in good order with no chips or cracks etc. and are complete. A fabulous find, the third one I have had in the last 40 years.

When on stand total 14.5" tall x 17.5" wide plus 9" front to back at floor.

Original, quality mid to late 19th century two tone glazed oval shaped stoneware spirit barrel. This good example has two bands of grapes on vines embossed to the coffee coloured glazed areas, an embossed swag to the front for the name of the spirit and an embossed Royal Coat of Arms of a form. The barrel is also impressed '4' for the size and for the manufacturer "Port Dundas Glasgow Pottery". There is an aperture to the bottom front for a tap and of course an aperture to the top for filling. All is complete and in good order, with not a chip in sight.

Original, quality run of matching square 1930's kitchen storage jars in green ceramic with handles to the front and underglaze titles for "Coffee", "Tea", "Raisins", "CastorSugar" and "Cherries". The cherries is half the size of the rest, one perfect small lid for the cherries and two damaged lids only for the larger sizes so two missing completely. Push in cork lids could be purchased new I'm sure. The underside of the jars is transfer printed "Bristol Kitchen Ware, Poutney & Co Ltd" and with the registration number for the year 1937. To conclude four perfect large jars, one perfect smaller jar, one perfect small lid and two damaged large lids only.

These are difficult to find in perfect condition today, and this one is complete and in good order but not suitable for use.

Original, quality 1950's glazed stoneware feeder for suckling piglets. This "Foster Mother" can feed nine piglets at a time if necessary with black teats fitted around the outlet points and this example has the original electric heating element for warming up the liquid feed. Transfer printed for the manufacturer "Arnold & Sons, 84 Wigmore St, London W.I." and with the registration number for the year 1950. One chip to one outlet lip otherwise complete and in good order.

Original, quality late 19th century two tone glazed stoneware "Foster Mother", for feeding orphaned piglets. This super example had provision for nine teats to be fitted and when filled with milk this would feed up to nine orphans. This model was fashioned on the foot warmer shape with a knob to the front and a screw off filler cap to the top. The rear teat holder has broken off and one other is chipped, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.
