	Cast Iron Letterbox LB46 Original, quality, post mounted cast iron letterbox, embossed above the letter slot "GR VI" for the reign of King George VI 1937 to 1952 and "Letters Only" beneath. The hinged door has a pull grip to the bottom, a small enamelled plate detailing "30" and "Thursday" and the original lock, with a replacement key made to suit. Only a photocopy of a "Collection" plate is included, but otherwise this example is complete and in good order with a pair of wrought iron mounting hoops made to suit. The enamel "Collection" plate size required to fit this box is 8" x 5". 20.5" tall x 10" wide + 14" front to back external, aperture 5.5" wide. Cast Iron Letterbox LB45 Original, quality, post mounted cast iron letterbox, embossed to the door "GR" for the reign of King George V 1911 to 1936, "Letters Only" above the letter slot and embossed to one side for the manufacturer "Derby Castings Ltd, Derby". The hinged door has the original chubb lock, with two replacement chubb keys and the original narrow and very clean enamelled "Collections" plate. This example has retained the original inner mesh guard and has a pair of mounting hoops made to suit copied from originals. 20" tall x 8.25" wide + 13" front to back external, enamel plate 6.75" x 3.5", aperture 4.5" wide. 	Cast Iron Letterbox LB44 Original, quality, post mounted cast iron letterbox, embossed above the letter slot "GR" for the reign of King George V 1911 to 1936 and "Letters Only" beneath. The hinged door has a pull grip to the bottom, the original very clean enamelled "Collections" plate, a "No 4" plate and has a good lock, with two replacement keys made to suit. This example has the 'coach hood' top, a pair of replacement mounting hoops and a retaining bar for the enamel plates made to suit. 20.5" tall x 10" wide + 14" front to back external, enamel plate 8" x 5", aperture 5.5" wide. Letterbox Enamel Plate LB43 Original, quality, pre-war, horizontal form, white enamelled "Next Collection" plate as issued by the Post Office for the earlier improved wall box of 1861 and others, detailed "13 Snelsmore Common". Pillar Box Enamel Plate LB38 Original, quality, pre-war, curved white enamelled "Next Collection" plate, as issued by the post office for the circular free standing cast iron pillar boxes. 	Pillar Box Enamel Plate LB37 Original, quality, pre-war, curved white enamelled "Next Collection" plate, as issued by the post office for the circular free standing cast iron pillar boxes. Letter Box Plate LB14 Original quality, pre war, white enamelled 'Next Collection' plate as issued by the 'G.P.O', 'General Post Office'. This model has a righthand top corner cut out to take a smaller enamel plaque with other information. Some chips to the edges of the enamel, but generally in good condition. 8.25" x just under 5.5". 	Ludlow Enamelled Letterbox Plate LB6 Original quality, enamelled plate as used on 'Ludlow' post office, wall mounted postboxes; this example is detailed for King George VI, 1937 to 1951. Some chips to the enamel around the edges and some scratching to the surface, otherwise a very bright, clean and complete plate not readily found. 12" x 14", aperture 2" x 8.25". VR Cast Iron Plaque For A Telegraph Pole S140 Original, quality, curved, cast iron plaque from a telegraph pole, issued 1837 to 1901, detailing "VR" with a crown and "Persons Throwing Stones at the Telegraphs Will Be Prosecuted" and with four countersunk screw holes for mounting. 	Stamp Machine Enamel Plate S122 Original, quality, 1950's, unused, white enamel plate detailed to both sides in black and red text, detailing 'Postage Stamps', '1d' to one side and '2d' to the other. Post Office Enamel Sign S79 Original, quality black on white, rectangular shaped enamel sign, circa 1900/20's, detailing 'Post Office for Money Orders, Savings Bank, Parcel Post, Insurance & Annuity Business' and to the lower right corner for the manufacturer 'Chromo, Wolverhampton'. Some damage to the outer edge, but very little beyond the black boarder and one area of enamel missing on the letter 'S' of 'Insurance', otherwise a clear bright sign. 26" x 12". 	VR Cast Iron Plaque from Telegraph Pole S70 Original quality cast iron curved plaque from a telegraph pole issued 1837 to1901 detailing 'VR Person's Throwing Stones At The Telegraphs Will Be Prosecuted.' Salters No 11 Letter Balance PS32 Original, quality, Salter's letter balance with the original bronzed finish to the tray and body and a white enamelled dial. This balance is calibrated to weigh 24oz by 1/4oz and details the postal rates in shillings and pennies for the years 1957 to 1965 and is otherwise detailed "Salter's Letter Balance No 11", "Made in England" and has the arrow through the knotted rope trademark. 	Salters Letter Balance PS30 Original, quality, brass, hanging postal scale with a brass pan suspended beneath and a brass wire frame to hold the letters. The face of the scale is calibrated to weigh up to 16oz in 1/2 ounces and it also details 'Salters' for the maker, 'British Made' and 'patent'. The postal rates are for the period 1885 to 1897. 	Brass Postal Balance PS24 Original, quality, brass postal scales with the original set of eight circular brass weights and oak base. The weights are marked from 1lb down to 1/4 ounce, and the larger brass tray is detailed with "Rates of Postage" for the years 1885 to 1897. Has been polished and laquered and all is complete and in good and working order. Base 10.5" x 6.25", all 11.75" x 7" and 5.5" tall. Price is for the set. Brass Letter Balance PS13 Set of original quality, late 19th century, cast brass postal scales for letters and parcels on the original shaped oak base and with the original full set of brass weights, 2lb down to 1oz (six). The scales are stamped 'Warranted Accurate', and the ivorine plaque details the cost of postage for both letters and parcels. The scale of charges here are for the years from 1897 to 1906. Brass Letter Rack LR35 Original, quality, brass letter rack circa 1900, in the form of an artist's display easel or portfolio stand. The main stand is in simulated bamboo, the sheet brass dividers are decorated with patterns in relief and all has been polished and lacquered. 	Brass Letter Rack LR31 Original, quality, brass letter rack circa 1900, with three brass mesh panels, a curved over the top frame as a handle, all mounted on a mahogany base with four brass ball feet. The underside has a small circular paper retailer's label with a Paris address and an impressed stamp 'S. H. & S.' for the manufacturer, S. Hall and Son of Birmingham. The brass has been polished and lacquered and, apart from one small chip to the underside edge of the mahogany, all is complete and in good order. W T & S Brass Letter Rack LR29 Original, quality, 1920's, brass letter rack on a painted wooden base, stamped to the underside 'WT & S' and with the sun trademark for William Tonks and Son of Birmingham. This unusual example has two outer pierced panels, both embossed with a face and head with laurel swags and a central brass wire meshed panel incorporating the loop top handle. Both the embossed panels have retained the original, red ochre paintwork to the reverse and all has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good order. 	Brass Letters Basket LR27 Original, quality letter basket, circa 1900/20's, fashioned in interwoven brass wirework with a hanging loop to the back for wall hanging. This example has two sections, each with a plate detailing 'Letters Out' to the rear one and 'Letters In' to the front. 	Salters Railway Parcel Balance S108 Original, quality, 1920's, cast iron parcel scale with a flat steel weighing slab and a circular brass dial with a central pointer. The face is calibrated in pounds and ounces up to 56lb and is impressed "Salter's Improved Railway Parcel Balance No22, Silvesters Patent" and "Made in England" with the knotted rope (the trade mark of Salter and Co). All has been cleaned, lacquered and fully overhauled, complete, working and superb order. An unusual example the first we have seen. Salters Letter Balance S102 Original, quality pressed tin letter clip balance with a top ring and a lower expanding clip to hold the letter. The gloss finished paper face is detailed in black with calibrations up to 4 ounces and the knotted rope with an arrow through logo and Salter's for the manufacturer 'Salter & Co'. The postal rates shown are for the years 1923 to 1940. The paper dial is curling at two corners but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Dial 2" x 1", total 4" x 1" x 0.25". Unused Leather Gladstone Bag L17 Original, quality 1920's/30's near mint condition, leather Gladstone bag, with two keys, nickel plated fittings and stamped "G.P.O" to one side. The interior is lined in buff coloured leather, and the outside is in grained brown. A very clean, unused example. "GPO" = General Post Office.
