	Cast Iron Plaque For a Telegraph Pole S67 Original quality curved cast iron plaque from a telegraph pole, pre 1922. Detailing 'LYR' (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway) and "Persons Throwing Stones at the Telegraphs Will Be Prosecuted". This example has four corner countersunk screw holes for mounting and has been cleaned and repainted in gloss black with gold letters, not necessarily the original colours. A very unusual item. Post Office Brass Letter Slot LB27* Original quality, 1920's, heavy pink sheet brass posting box plate with a large aperture and 'Posting Box' inlaid in white enamel above. This would have been used on the outside of the larger post offices. This example has eight countersunk screw holes and is in super condition with no chips to the enamel inlay. 	Edward VII Post Box LB23 Original quality cast iron wall mounted letter box issued by the Post Office from 1902 to 1911. Not an easy model to find today. An old lock and key has been altered to fit but there is no 'Times of Collections' plate. 'Post Office' is embossed on the hood over the posting aperture and the King's Crown and 'ER VII' is above. The maker's name 'W.T Allen & Co of London' is also embossed to the front beneath the door. All is complete and in good and working order. Letter Box Plate, 4 available LB14 Original quality, pre war, white enamelled 'Next Collection' plate as issued by the 'G.P.O', 'General Post Office'. This model has a righthand top corner cut out to take a smaller enamel plaque with other information. Some chips to the edges of the enamel, but generally in good condition. 8.25" x just under 5.5". 	Brass Letter Balance PS23* Original quality brass postal scale on the original serpentine fronted mahogany plinth on bun feet and with the original set of six circular flat brass weights. The letter plate is impressed with the postal rates for the years 1897 to 1915 and the weights are 1lb down to 1/2 oz. The brass has been polished and lacquered and all is complete and in good and working order. 10.5" x 6.25" x 4.5" tall. Price is for the set. Click on photo for larger and other views. Winfield Postal Balance PS22* Original quality, late 19th century, brass 'Candlestick' form letter scale in the original green patination and marked for the manufacturer 'R.W. Winfield of Birmingham'. Used to weigh letters for posting and calibrated in half ounces to 4oz with the postal rate of 2d per ounce. 	Salter No25 Parcel Balance PS20* Original quality cast iron parcel scale with a super enamelled dial and a brass plate for the parcels. The face is calibrated in lbs and ounces, up to 15lbs, the postal rates are for the years 1935 to 1940 and the face is marked 'Salter Postal Balance No25' and 'Made In England'. The enamel face is in mint condition, apart from one chip to the centre under the needle centre (very difficult to see). The iron work and brass has been cleaned and lacquered, the dial is adjustable with a twist knob control to one side and all is complete and in good and working order. Brass Postal Balance PS18* Original quality, late 19th century, brass letter scales on the original mahogany base with bun feet and with the original set of five brass weights. This scale has an oval tray for the letters and is stamped 'Warranted Accurate' to the frame. The weights are all matching and comprise 2 x 4oz and 1 each of 2oz, 1oz and 1/2oz. 	Brass Letter Balance PS13* Set of original quality, late 19th century, cast brass postal scales for letters and parcels on the original shaped oak base and with the original full set of brass weights, 2lb down to 1oz (six). The scales are stamped 'Warranted Accurate', and the ivorine plaque details the cost of postage for both letters and parcels. The scale of charges here are for the years from 1897 to 1906. Set of Brass Postal Scales PS8* Original quality, late 19th century, brass letter balance with a full set of 7 original brass nesting weights marked 16oz to 1/4oz, all on the original mahogany base. This superb set of scales is complete and in good and working order, and the weights are unusual in shape. The larger brass pan for the letters etc, is a replacement copied from the original damaged one, otherwise all is original. Base 11.5" x 6.5" and 6" high. Click on photo for larger and other views. 	Letter Balance with Stamp Box S103* Original quality brass letter balance in the original matt gilt finish. The face is calibrated up to 6 ounces and bears the registration number for the year 1888. The lower clip is to hold the letters whilst weighing and the hinged cover to the reverse, simulating an envelope, opens to reveal the stamp storage cavity. A little discoloured to the inside hinge area otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A super little hard to find letter balance. Body 1.5" x 1" x 1", total length 1.75". Salter Letter Balance S102* Original quality pressed tin letter clip balance with a top ring and a lower expanding clip to hold the letter. The gloss finished paper face is detailed in black with calibrations up to 4 ounces and the knotted rope with an arrow through logo and Salter's for the manufacturer 'Salter & Co'. The postal rates shown are for the years 1923 to 1940. The paper dial is curling at two corners but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Dial 2" x 1", total 4" x 1" x 0.25". Ludlow Enamelled Letterbox Plate LB6* Original quality, enamelled plate as used on 'Ludlow' post office, wall mounted postboxes; this example is detailed for King George VI, 1937 to 1951.
