Barn Owl in Flight T142
Original, quality 1920's, mounted and cased barn owl in flight, with a good label for the taxidermist "R.Allder, of Newbury". The presentation, groundwork and foliage is as good as you can get, only to be expected from this great taxidermist. The front and two sides are fully glazed, and the front has guilded slips on the outside of the glass. The exterior has been re-taped all around, repainted and is complete and in good order. 18" wide x 15" tall + 13" front to back.

Cased Merganser T141
Original, quality, circa 1900, mounted and cased merganser. This interesting example has the bird on a rock at the waters edge, with a flat sheet of glass simulating the water's surface. The groundwork generally is good and realistic, as is the painted back cloth. The adult bird is a little faded, but is in good order otherwise and the case has been re-taped and repainted. A little different, for the ends are both partally glazed and the front of course is one glazed panel. Complete and in good order. 27.5" widest x 18" tall + 8" front to back.

Original, quality, common carp mounted in a bow fronted glazed wall cabinet, probably 1920's / 30's. A good specimen well presented, with realistic groundwork, reeds and grasses. The bow fronted panel has a gilt edge, but no details of the fish, when and where caught, or the taxidermist. All is in good order, with the bow front and two end glasses intact and the case has been retaped and repainted. Complete and in good order. 27.25" x 14.75" tall + 7.5" front to back deepest.

This example is in the very life like, typical snarling pose as expected from this celebrated taxidermist. Original, quality, full head and neck mount of a Thompson's Gazelle, circa 1900, on the original oak shield of a typical shape for Rowland Ward; the reknowned taxidermist. The reverse of the shield has the remains of the original paper label for 'The Jungle Rowland Ward Piccadilly', and bears the branded 'RW'. This superb mount has some restoration to the rear of one ear and is all now complete and in good order. A pretty beast, mounted realistically, as expected from Rowland Ward. Original, quality, late 19th Century, superb, carved standing dog of the St Bernard type; very realistic and proportioned in Swiss walnut with glass eyes and fine carved detail and colouring. These carvings were generally referred to as 'Black Forest', but were mainly carved in Switzerland. No damage, no chips, no repairs and complete. A truely superb example, of an unusual subject. 6.75" tall and 9.25" x 2.25".

Original quality horse hoof mounted with a brass shoe and top mount in the original unpolished finish and engraved to the front 'Prudence 1912 to 1932'. This example has a match holder tub beneath the turned boxwood lid and a super silver plated candle stick. An unusual item of superb quality complete and in good and working order. Insect Storage Boxes NH3
Thirty-eight original, quality, late 19th Century, insect storage boxes in the form of a pair of books. Each box is made in wood and covered in textured 'leather look' paper and is very realistic when on a bookshelf. Each box has a sealing trim to the inside and is lined in white paper over a thin cork sheet, all have been used and are complete but in varying degrees of condition. All are the same height but some differ a little front to back. 13" tall, most are 10" front to back, all are 3.25" wide. Prices vary, ranging from £35 - £135 each.

Original, quality, late 19th Century, glazed front wall cabinet by 'Horrockses Miller and Co, Preston', containing a cotton display with 13 items, all various stages of processing from raw to finished. Signwritten to the top front of the cabinet for the cotton processer and with an original labelled packet to the centre. The cabinet has been repainted, but not the name details and all is complete and in superb order. A very clean, bright advertising item. 23" x 19" x 3.75".

A pair of original, late 19th century, superb quality gentleman's hair brushes, with nylon bristles and Elephant Tusk ivory backs. Each brush is engraved to the end 'E. B. W.' for the original owner. Unusual to find these with the natural surface of ivory used and worthy of note is the polished sections, showing good graining to the ivory. All is complete and in good order. 5.75" x 1.75" x 3" each brush. Price is for the pair.
