	Brass Oil Lamp OL74 Original, quality, late 19th century, superb brass urn shaped oil side lamp, with a lift out font and styalised serpent side handles, all mounted on a block brass pedestal. Three sides of the pedestal are embossed and engraved with designs of grapes, vines and leaves and the other is detailed "Presented to John Hanna Esq J.P. by the Ashton Under Lyne Caledonian Association, July 21st 1896. Burns Centenary". The main body is profusely embossed and engraved with designs of grapes, vines and leaves as on the pedestal, and the lift out font has a reeded design to match that on the foot of the urn. The twin 1" wick oil burner is a top of the range 'Hinks' burner in brass, with a white ceramic button to the wick control and marked "Hinks Duplex No 2" and has a gallery lifting device to enable the lamp to be lit without removing the shade or chimney. This burner has the side lug attachments to lock onto the top collar and is stamped "Hinks and Sons Patent". The glass chimney is included in the price but the shade is not, but may well be available, see our "Lamp Shades" section, item code OS80. All is polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. A very unusual oil lamp with an interesting dedication. Complete and in good and working order. Wells Unbreakable Lamp OL73 Original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron oil lamp, with a swing over carrying handle, a lock on / lock off cast iron cap and a side neck with an open wick. The sides are detailed "Wells Unbreakable, AC Wells and Co No 18" and "Strength and Durability". 	Ceramic and Glass Oil Side Lamp OL70 Original, quality late 19th century, oil side lamp with a circular stoneware base in a glazed mottled blue / green colour with a matching, but plain colour column all beneath a cut clear glass font with a twin 1" wick brass duplex burner. The glass chimney is included but the shade is not but may be available, see our "Lamp Shade" section, reference code OS82. Apart from a small chip to the ceramic base all is complete and in good and working order. 17.5" tall not including chimney, 26" tall including climney, 7.25" base diameter. Brass Oil Side Lamp OL69 Original, quality, 1920's/30's, plain oil side lamp in the original oxidised finish on brass, popular at this period. A simple lamp of its time, but amazingly, in almost unused condition. This also has the original matching colour twin wick duplex burner and gallery and top filler cap. The wick controls have black ceramic inserts detailing 'Duplex British Made'. The glass chimney is included, but the shade is not, but may well be available, reference code OS79. 	Oil Side Lamp OL68 Original, quality, late 19th Century, oil side lamp with a cut glass font, mounted on a cast brass short corinthian column and fitted with a brass twin 1" wick burner. The wick control has an insert white ceramic button detailing 'Hinks No 2 Duplex', which does have a crack across it, but is fully operational. The collar on the glass font is marked 'Youngs', the brass has been polished and lacquered, all has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. A short, but super quality oil side lamp. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. Base 5.5" square, lamp 26" tall with chimney and 17" tall without chimney. Cut Glass and Brass Oil Side Lamp OL65 Original, quality, 1920's, oil side lamp with a clear cut glass font on a reeded brass stem, with a decorated brass plinth on a black glazed stoneware circular base. This lamp is fitted with a twin 1" wick brass burner and all has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. 	Cut Glass and Brass Oil Side Lamp OL63 Original, quality, 1920's, oil side lamp with a clear cut glass font on a reeded brass stem, with a decorated brass plinth on a black glazed stoneware circular base. Ceramic and Brass Oil Side Lamp OL62 Original, quality, late 19th Century, superb, pale green ceramic, vase shaped oil side lamp with a cast brass decorative plinth, sides handles and top mount to the lift out font. The ceramic body is extremely well decorated with a floral design to each side; one of snowdrops and the other of a white clematis style of flower. The original twin 1" wick burner is also of top quality and of the bayonet fitting, with the turn key lifting action to enable the wicks to be lit without removing the globe and chimney. The twin wick control has a white ceramic insert to the grip and this is detailed 'New Duplex No 1' and the brass collar to the font is impressed 'Hinks & Sons patent' for the bayonet fitting. This lamp is complete and original, has been polished and lacquered and is in good and working order. The lacquer can be removed upon request, at no extra cost. 	Oil Side Lamp OL61 Original, quality, 1920's, oil side lamp with a hand painted, decorated, pale yellow glass font in a pressed brass neck and a black glazed circular stoneware base. The brass burner has two 1" flat wicks with two control knobs, each with a black ceramic insert. All the brass has been polished and lacquered and all has been fully overhauled. Ceramic Oil Lamp OL60 Original, quality, late 19th Century, ceramic, vase shaped oil lamp of British manufacture, in the Moorish style with a highly decorated and colourful ceramic body and cover to the lift out brass oil reservior. The square, cast brass pedestal is decorated in relief and stands on four feet, mounted with mythical creature heads. The brass burner is of the best quality, with a key twist action to raise both the globe and chimney, permitting the lamp to be lit without removing the globe or chimney. The wick control has a black porcelain insert detailing the manufacturer: 'Hinks's Duplex Patent' and the double wheel control will adjust each of the two 1" wicks independently. The main ceramic body is transfer printed to the inside in blue detailing 'Patent' and ? and what appears to be 'Istanbul', also a paper label is affixed and details: 'Des. No 340' and '32/6'. All is completely original and has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order, the brass polished and lacquered. 	Brass Oil Side Lamp OL56 Original, quality, late 19th century oil side lamp with a brass corinthian column base, an opaline white glass font and a brass twin wick burner. The burner is marked to the wick controls "Eltex" for the manufacturer and and all has been polished and laquered and fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. Small Brass Oil Lamp with Shade OL52 Original, quality, late 19th century, small vase shaped brass oil side lamp complete with the original acid etched glass shade and chimney. The burner control is embossed 'Brenner Kosmos' and is complete with the wick and the bonnet shade is acid etched with a floral design. The brass has been polished and lacquered and apart from some minor blemishes to the brass body on one side all is complete and in good and working order. 	The Protector Brass Miner's Lamp ML8 Original, quality, all brass Miner's Safety Lamp circa 1900/1920's, in unsused condition. The circular brass plate to the front details "The Protector Lamp and Lighting Co Ltd. Maker Eccles Manchester" and has a space for the serial/owner's number to be stamped "25105" and all is complete and in good order. The burners and the body are both stamped. The Protector Miner's Lamp ML2 Original quality steel and brass miner's safety lamp, circa 1900/1920's. The circular brass plaque to the front details 'Type SL Approved Under Schedule B' and 'Protector Lamp & Lighting Co Ltd, The Makers, Eccles, Manchester'. The hand stamped number is 'No.72'. 	Yellow Glass Oil Lamp Shade OS89 Original, quality 1920's, yellow glass oil lamp shade, to fit a standard, duplex double wick burner gallery. This example has a strong yellow colour to the top, fading out to near clear at the base. The top edge is very frilled and the etched design appears to be of chrysanthemums. Amber Glass Oil Lamp Shade OS88 Original, quality, late 19th century, superb acid etched glass oil lamp shade to fit a standard, duplex double wick burner gallery. This example has a strong amber colour to the top, fading out to near clear at the base. The etched design is mainly of arum lillies and arum leaves, with other flowers in the minority. Pair of Oil Lamp Shades OS85 Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, continental glass, flared and open top oil lamp shades to fit standard, duplex double wick burner galleries. These super shades are in quilted, frosted glass with a multi-fluted top rim in cranberry colour with an etched vertical pattern dividing the frosted main body into six panels, each with an etched landscape scene with buildings. One shade appears to have the lower rim trimmed down, but never the less they both sit well on a standard gallery. I have described these as continental for the landscape scenes are typically continental. These shades are also a little shorter than normally seen for ones manufactured for the UK market. 	Glass Oil Lamp Smoke Bell SB8 Original quality, 19th century, free blown clear glass smoke deflector for an oil lamp. This would have been suspended from the ceiling above an oil side or standard lamp, to protect the ceiling from the soot and heat. This 'thistle head' shape is the most difficult to find.
