Brass Rim Lock with Handles
Original, quality late 19th century surface mounted brass door lock with the original pair of oval brass door knobs. This example has a curved end, the original cast brass keep, an old key altered to fit and has a standard square hole for the handles. This lock is stamped to the faceplate for the maker "Carter & Aynsley London". All are polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order.

Soil Thermometer
Original, quality late 19th century thermometer to determine the temperature of soil, probably used in the laboratory for soil quality or in greenhouses. The example has the thermometer mounted on a turned oak shaft with brass mounts and is calibrated from '0' to 130 degrees. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all appears complete and in good and working order.

JS&S Brass Drinks Tray
Original, quality 1920's rectangular shaped sheet brass drinks / tea tray with a hammered finish to the floor, an Art Nouveau outer shape and side handles. The reverse is impressed "JS&SB" for the manufacturer "Joseph Sankey & Son". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order. Another identical tray but in copper may well be available ref code: T143.

Set of 3 Stoneware Spirit Flasks
Original, quality three matching late 19th century stoneware spirit flasks with the three matching stoppers and the remains of the original wicker basket. Each two tone square bodied jug / flask has a pouring lip, a side handle to one corner, with a decorative embossed leaf design. One is impressed "Gin", "Whisky" and the other "Brandy". The basket is missing the carrying handle, and one of the stoppers has a little metal fatigue to the cap otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A super set of 3.

Wrights Patent Brass Reading Stand
Original, quality late 19th century all brass folding and adjustable patent book reading stand / lectern. This superb example has a cast brass stand in the original matt and gilt finish, highly detailed with acanthus leaves and berries and with a decorated tubular stem incorporating the ratchet catch, height adjustment. The book frame will tilt and lock at a variety of angles, will lock into position with a wing nut and will rotate with ease. This book frame with supports at the base for the book and page retaining turning signals, has extending side frames and is well documented in embossed letters "By Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent" with the Royal Coat of Arms above and "Wrights Newspaper Stand, 58 & 58A London Wall, London". All is complete, in full working order and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. This is the first we have seen.

1/2lb Avery Ceramic Weight
Original, quality late 19th century W&T Avery ceramic grocers' / butchers' counter weight. These weights were only in use for a very short period and were made illegal in 1903 or thereabouts. This example is transfer printed "1/2lb" to the top "W&T Avery Birmingham" around the base and has retained the lead infill to the underside for counterbalancing to the true weight. All is complete and in good order.

S & H Harris's Advertising Mirror
Original, quality late 19th century rectangular plaster on wood framed wall mirror detailing to the upper mirror "S&H. Harris's" and to the lower area "Harness Composition & Polishing Paste Burham London". Some minor chips to the plaster frame but the mirror glass is in super condition and the original backing board has some details of the mirror manufacturer. Complete and in good order.

Original, quality 1920's frosted and yellow tinted electric light shade, to fit a standard, modern UK electric bulb holder. Original, quality superb late 19th century all copper watering can in the 17th / 18th century style. This wonderful example has several repairs to the underside but is now complete and in good and working order. This item is not lacquered to enable it to return to its green / brown colour or we could lacquer it for you for no extra cost.

Pair of Brass Gothic Dragon Candle Wall Brackets
Original, quality, pair of late 19th century, probably continental, cast brass candle wall brackets. This super pair have "Gothic" dragons supporting the candle sconces. The back plates are decorated with leaves and each have one screw hole and a fixed plate for mounting, permitting the Dragons to swivel left or right. All has been fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer can be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order.

Huge Town Criers Handbell
Original, quality mid to late 19th century very large "Town Criers" handbell in the original patina to the cast brass bell. This super and loud bell has the original blacksmith made clapper to the inside, No "16" to the shoulder and the original turned oak or hickory handle. Huge Brass Hand & Ball Door Knocker
Original, quality late 19th century huge cast brass door knocker in the form of a hand holding a ball. This most unusually large example has a 5/8" square threaded bar in brass with a 1 5/8" square brass nut, and the knocking stud is also large with a 1 3/8" diam threaded stud and a 1.5" square brass nut. This very exciting knocker is of the highest quality and of English manufacturer. Polished and complete and in good and working order.

Brass Galleried Mahogany Drinks Tray
Original, quality 1920's rectangular shaped mahogany tea tray with a brass gallery and nameplate to the centre and a handle to each end with turned mahogany grips. Original, quality late 19th century cast pink brass rectangular shaped vertical fingerplates with inlaid white enamel in tall upper cased letters "IN" and "OUT". Some minor scratches, all are complete and in good and working order otherwise have been lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. One pair = A and one pair = B.

Pair of Walnut Door Handles
Original, quality late 19th century spherical shaped turned walnut door knobs. With a square bar included to fit standard mortice locks and latches. This example has the most unusual brass backplates being rectangular with shaped ends and three countersunk screw holes at each end, six in total per backplate. These turned walnut knobs have ribbed sides and a wonderful grain and colour and are complete and in good and working order.

Milk Churn Lid
Original, quality circular steel lid from a 'London Pattern' 17 gallon steel milk churn circa 1900 / 1920's. This unusual example has the original brass hasp, a brass identifying tag detailed '215' and two oval brass collection and delivery plaques engraved with the details from and to "Marshalls Dairies Ltd Highworth" in Wiltshire and "Paddington" London. Cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good order.

Arts & Crafts Brass Fingerplate
Original, quality late 19th century brass door fingerplate in the original unpolished finish with a super patina. This classic design is embossed with branches of leaves with pomegranate type of seed pods bursting open. A most unusual pattern and what a great colour but of course it could be polished back to shiny brass on request for no extra charge. All is complete and in good order.

Pair of Brass and Iron Fire Dogs
Original, quality pair of late 19th century cast brass firedogs with barley twist bars in wrought iron. Each end of the fire dogs has a pair of mythical birds standing opposed, the reverse of which are all in the original colour and lacquered finish. These were used to rest the fire irons upon - shovel, tongs and poker. A most extraordinary pair of fire dogs, Cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good and working order.

Large Bellied Copper Saucepan
Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, large, bellied shaped copper saucepan with a blacksmith made tapered tubular side handle fitted with three copper rivets. The main body has a rolled over top rim and good dovetailed seams to the rear and underside. A much larger than average saucepan.

Martingale with 3 Heart Horse Brasses
Original, quality late 19th century heavy horse leather martingale with three matching pierced horse brasses of multiple heart designs, a brass top buckle, a 'club' brass stud, a small brass plaque engraved with an 'M' and a wrought iron buckle to the lower end. This display harness is all original and the leather is double layered for comfort to the horse. Complete and in good order.

Brass & Oak Reading Stand
Original, quality circa 1900 folding reading stand in oak with brass mounts. This example has a pierced grille to the centre of the oak panels and a book ledge to the bottom front with two movable levers to hold back the pages. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, and all is complete and in good and working order.

Stoneware Lard Tub
Original, quality late 19th century Scottish stoneware lard tub, decorated around with impressed bead and ribbed patterns and with side handles. This good example is impressed for the manufacturer "A.W Buchan & Co. Portobello Scotland" and to the front in blue type for the supplier of the contents "Irvine R. Stirling Family Grocer, Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchant 2 St. Leonard Street Edinburgh". These lard and butter tubs originally had waxed card lids. This is a very detailed example but it does have a hairline crack to the base but is complete and in good order otherwise.

W. Tonks Brass Thermometer
Original, quality late 19th century stunning brass wall household thermometer manufactured by William Tonks & Son of Birmingham. This example the first we have seen of this model, has the glass thermometer mounted on a sheet brass background decorated with cast brass detail of acanthus leaves, swags and the head of Medusa to the top. The face is calibrated in Farenheight 30 to 120 degrees showing Freezing, Temperate, Summer Heat and Blood Heat. The reverse has a wall mounting eye and is impressed with the registration number for the year 1894 and impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son'. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. The best you will see for a long time.

Original, quality, late 19th centry tankard shaped pewter ale measures with side handles and brass top rims. Each is marked to the brss collar accordingly "Half Pint" "Pint and Quart" and to the pewter under the rim. "VR" over "349" and beneath a crown for the reign of Queen Victoria. The half pint has an old but good repair around the base and now all is complete and in good order, with the pewter waxed and the brass polished and lacquered although the lacquered may be remover at no extra cos. A good set of three.

Original, quality 18th early 19th century steel door key for a mortice lock with a "Georgian Bow" ring grip, a detailed turning on the stem and the original engraved brass tag detailed "Reservoir Roof". Ladies Legs Corkscrew
Original, quality 1920's folding pocket corkscrew in the naughty form of a pair of Ladies' legs in lace-up boots. The legs fold out to provide the 'T' handle, the legs are creamy pink celluloid, the boots and hinged top are in nickel and the steel corkscrew in the centre is stamped "Registrirt" which is German for "Registered". Complete and in good and working order.

Pullars Dye Works Hanging Enamel Sign
Original, quality circa 1900, double sided very clean enamel sign in the original wall hanging wooden frame. This example is detailed to one side "Agent for Pullars Dye Works Perth" in blue and black shadowed letters and to the other "Agent for Pullar's Cleaners & Dyers Perth". Both sides are also detailed in small type with the registration number for the year "1903" and for the maker of the sign "Patent Enamel Co Ltd B'Ham ( for Birmingham ). A couple of very minor chips to the enamel sign, otherwise in mint condition.

Oil Lamp Wick Trimmer
Original, quality late 19th century cast iron cutting tool for trimming oil burner wicks. The plier action will operate the blade to cut a curve on a 1.25" wick and providing the blade is sharp it will cut cleanly. Embossed to one handle is U.S. patent manufactured in the U.S.A. A very unusual gadget. Complete and in good and working order.

Parnall & Sons Scales and Weights
Original, quality set of late 19th century cast iron grocers' / butchers' shop counter scale in the original paintwork. The ceramic slab, brass pan for the weights, the arms and base of the scale are all marked for the scale maker and shopfitting supplier "Parnall & Sons Ltd of Bristol". The stack of weights are included, with the cast iron ones being embossed again for 'Parnall & Sons'. Some staining to the ceramic slab but all is complete and in good and working order otherwise. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Brass Door Knocker
Original, quality late 19th century largish cast brass door knocker of the drop loop design with a knocking stud made to suit in brass. This good heavy example has a circular backplate with replacement threaded bars, nuts and washers and the overall design to the front of the knocker is a continual stud decoration. The reverse is also impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1875. All is complete and in good and working order.

3 Piece Antler Handled Steel Carving Set
Original, quality late 19th century three piece carving set in the original fully fitted honey-coloured oak box. The box is lined with purple silk to the interior of the lid and red velvet to the base. Each tool has a curved stag antler grip mounted with a hallmarked silver ferrule and tip cover. The steel blade of the knife is engraved "Radiant", the two pronged fork has a sprung safety guard, the sharpening steel is impressed "Cast Steel", and the interior of the lid is detailed for the manufacturer "Humprey & Co Sheffield". Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. The linings to the box are a little worn but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.
