Original, quality 1920's brass and steel Miners' Safety lamp with the flint striker and a circular makers brass label to the front detailing "The Protector Lamp Company Eccles Ltd", "Ministry of Power Safety Lamps" and "Approval No 8 / 23" ( for 1923 ). Needs a wick and a flint to be complete and in good order. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality late 19th century cast iron exterior bell pull with a hexagonal-shaped knob fitted to the front of a flat cast iron backplate with a fretted design. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Replacement rear springs and washers have been fitted. We do not find many exterior bell pulls in cast iron. This example has an indistinct makers name to the reverse " ? & Son London". Fully overhauled, cleaned and repainted black and complete and in good and working order.

Copper Ships Water Carrier
Original, quality circa 1900, all copper tapered, circular ships water jug with a swing over handle to the top, a handle to the rear, a good pouring lip and a small central filling hole to the top. The bottom rim has a thick band to prevent denting the base on board the ship. These were usually dated for use during the First World War 1914 to 1918 but this has been scratched out otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Some old repairs to the base, minor dents to the top and all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Decorated Brass Rim Lock
Decorated Brass Rim Lock
Original, quality 18th or early 19th century large brass surface mounted door lock with a decorated fretted brass outer case with a design of acanthus leaves and flowers. This most unusual example has the original keep and key, one of a pair of the original large turning handles and a matching smaller knob to turn the privacy slide which overrides both the lock and turning handles, from the inside of the room. This lock has the provision for a handle turn, a key lock and a privacy slide and has concealed fixings, so when mounted no screws are visible, the locking action also has a double throw. This lock set still requires a larger door pull size for the other side of the door to complete the system for use. We have other alternative knobs for this operation which we can alter to suit the need, please enquire further about the options. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A wonderful lock set in full working order and very unusual.

This super garden urn does have a short firing crack to one side at the floor level, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Very sturdy, strong and heavy and a most unusual example.

Original, quality superb early 19th century cast iron umbrella stand in outstanding condition. This example has two very decorative side supports of an open design with a matching three-railed top section with five-pointed finials, all mounted on a sturdy cast iron plinth with a lift-out full-length tray to catch the water from umbrellas and walking sticks. The underside of the tray and base are embossed with the manufacturer's details for "James Yates of Rotherham" and the "Registration Date January 27th 1843" and the same is engraved in a script to the underside of both end sections and the upper three railed top section. All is complete and in good and working order with no repairs, with nothing missing and all has been cleaned and finished in a coat of clear lacquer.

Original, quality 18th century cast brass bell with a good repair in steel to the hanging eye. This super bell with a good tone, resonates well despite the hole to the side from when it was cast. This bell is embossed to the inside "W.I.Cor" for the bell foundry from Aldbourne and with the village emblem of a dabchick or "Little Grebe". All has been cleaned and is complete and in good and working order.

This very clean example in the original finish can be dismantled into two main body sections plus the top cornice and base plinth, a total of four pieces. This wardrobe comprises the left-hand hanging section with an internal drawer to the base and the right-hand section has a twin-door cupboard with two adjustable shelves over four long drawers. The full set of original brass handles are in the unpolished finish but can be polished to shiny brass on request for no extra charge. All is original and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century circular ceramic washbasin with blue transfer decorations. This super example has an oval shaped bowl recess with acanthus leaf decoration and hearts to the rim, two oval soap recesses and a long oval toothbrush recess. The outer border of the circular rim also has a finer decoration of acanthus leaves design. The brass plughole has a replacement plug and chain in brass, copied from an original. The reverse is impressed "T.C. Brown Westhead Moore & Co" and transfer printed in blue with the company logo including "BWM & Co" and "Teutonic" for the pattern. Absolutely perfect and complete. A great looking handbasin ready to be plumbed in.

These handles were probably from a greenhouse / conservatory door originally, but are most suitable for standard household doors also. All is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century blacksmith made wrought iron stand with curled decoration within the wrought iron and to the feet and top carrying handle and has four turned brass finials within the frame and a large circular brass gong suspended to the open centre. The gong has a hammered finish, a good loud sound and good resonance. The beater hangs to the rear of the gong on a wrought iron shaped hook. The ironwork has been cleaned and repainted black and the brass gong and finials have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century cast brass folding and adjustable book reading stand. This superb example has a fretwork front plate depicting a bust of Queen Victoria, swirls of acanthus leaves and Tudor Rose motifs. This was probably manufactured to commemorate one of Queen Victoria's Jubilees in 1887 or 1897. This stand has a shaped ledge to the lower front to rest an open book and a ratchet adjustable system to tilt the open book, mounted on a ball foot to each corner. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

No maker's marks but we think these were manufacturer by Dryad of Leicester. Complete and in good and working order.

The main body and hasp is in blacksmith made wrought iron and the front and back has thick brass cover plates with a decorative bevelled edge to the upper half plates and all is contained as one with five wrought iron rivets. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order.

This most unusual example has an aesthetic movement impressed design to the vertical backplate, has two countersunk screw holes for mounting and a 'T' bar pull handle. The whole can be mounted vertically, horizontally or even with a vertical grip on a horizontal backplate or the opposite. The reverse is impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son of Birmingham' with a registration number for the year 1878. All is complete and in good and working order.

A pair of original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron plaques depicting Gladstone and Disraeli, both Prime Ministers during Queen Victoria's reign. These plaques have been finished in a matt gilt colour and are fitted within wide circular wooden frames. All is complete and in superb order. The first we have seen.

Original, quality pair of late 19th century cast brass interior bell pulls with gilt decorated white ceramic central boss and knob to the handle. The cast brass backplate and handle are moulded in deep relief designs and all is mounted onto circular cast iron drum shaped bodies. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Backplate 3.5" diam.

Disc 2.5" diam.

Gaskell & Chambers were a large manufacturer of pub and Hotel fixtures and fittings. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good order.
