Original, quality unused late 19th century steel shoulder plane with the original 1.25" cutting iron, ebony infill and wedge, steel knocking button to the rear and stamped "Norris London" for the maker and "C.E.H" for the original owner. Above all this plane has never been put to work, it has the original machine engraved turned decoration to the sides of the steel body, albeit one side has rust damage to the surface, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A top quality unused tool from a top maker, in fabulous condition and with a very special finish. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality late 19th century rectangular shaped ceramic wash basin with the matching wash jug. This brightly coloured example with a cream background colour has an Imari type design predominantly in orange and Royal Blue flowers and vines. The underside of both pieces has "Oriental Irovy" for the design and the registration number for the year 1887. Complete and perfect.

Original, quality late 19th century buff coloured stoneware water filter with the original lid and tap and white ceramic applied decoration. The applied decoration has firing cracks in many places but no actual decoration is missing and details "Lipscombe & Co Patentees, 45 Queen Victoria Street London" in black text. The stoneware tap is impressed "Doulton Lambeth" and is perfect but the lid has some chips and one chunk has been glued back on it. The inner filter section is missing, but otherwise all is complete albeit with minor faults as described.

Original, quality circa 1900, Arts & Crafts copper firescreen in the original unpolished colour, embossed to the centre of the screen with a stylised galleon with oars and a large billowing sail. The blacksmith made wrought iron stand has shaped feet pointing inwards with upstands in the form of Neptune's three prong tridents. No maker's mark but all original, complete and in good and working order and finished in a coat of lacquer, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's cast iron letter embosser with the original paintwork and decoration. This example was used for business documents and is fitted with two brass padlocks in a brass locking bar ( with two keys for each ). The two padlocks obviously have different keys and are fitted to ensure it needs two independent key holders to be present before the embosser can be used on legal documents etc. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.
The stamp reads "Bartrums Ltd".

Steel Dustpan and Brush Original, quality 1920's pressed steel dustpan with much of the original black japanned paint finish and the tubular handle is designed to take a wooden handle if required. The brush, can you believe, has all its bristles intact and has them mounted up and over at the end and the turned wooden shaft and back are again with most of the Japanned finish. All is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century stained pine, eight drawer, table top collectors cabinet with a "Wellington" locking panel to the right-hand front with a key and lower bolt. The reverse has the original paper label for the maker / supplier 'James Gardner' and 'by appointment to Her Majesty the Queen' ( Queen Victoria). Each drawer has a lift-out glass cover, and each is lined with white paper. Three replacement knobs made to suit have been fitted, all has been washed and waxed and the brass bolt to the lower front has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. A super clean example.

Original, quality late 19th century large cast brass circular door pull knob. This superb example has a well detailed face of a maned lion with a decorative circular border in relief. This pull knob will not turn a lock or latch, only pull the door closed and has the original threaded steel bolt with a domed and slotted head, a steel washer and an old replacement circular backplate, with a retaining spike to prevent this knob from being removed from the outside. Polished, fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality, set of eight matching late 18th or early 19th century cow horn chest of drawers knobs with the original brass threaded bars with hand cut nuts, rope twist brass wire inlays to the face of the knobs and fitted with replacement washers. One knob has a slightly thicker front, one other knob has some of the brass wire inlay missing and there is a variation in colour to some of the backplates, otherwise all are complete and in good and working order. This set is embossed to the bottom edge of the knobs "S&T Deakin's Patent". A super set complete and so rare to find.

Huntley & Palmers FA Cup Biscuit Tin See our "Tins & Packaging" section for current stock of similar items.
Original, quality aluminium biscuit tin in the form of the "FA Cup" produced for Huntley & Palmers, the Biscuit Manufacturer based at Reading in Berkshire. This tin was produced in preparation for Reading Town winning the FA Cup in 1927, unfortunately, they were knocked out in the Semi-Finals at Wolverhampton losing to Cardiff City 0-3 on 26th March 1927. As Reading Town did not win the FA Cup final, the tin was never issued as such and not produced in any great numbers. The underside is impressed "Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Manufacturer Reading & London England" and "Made in England". Complete and in good order.

Original, quality large cast pink brass door pull knob circa 1900, with the original rectangular shaped backplate, threaded rod and internal dome headed, slotted nut. This super example the first we have seen has a detailed stepped border to the backplate matching the same to the knob. This fitting has a clever thief deterrent in that the twin spikes to the backplate, sink in when fitted to the door, thus preventing the whole being twisted undone from outside the house. All is complete and in good and working order.

These superb examples are mounted with very detailed brass mounts with grips to the top, each with entwined mythical fish and acanthus leaf and other decorations.
