Original, quality late 19th century heavy horse leather martingale with three matching pierced horse brasses of multiple heart designs, a brass top buckle, a 'club' brass stud, a small brass plaque engraved with an 'M' and a wrought iron buckle to the lower end. This display harness is all original and the leather is double layered for comfort to the horse. Complete and in good order.

Original, quality circa 1900 folding reading stand in oak with brass mounts. This example has a pierced grille to the centre of the oak panels and a book ledge to the bottom front with two movable levers to hold back the pages. The reverse has a brass wire backrest, which will fold flat when not in use. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, and all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century Scottish stoneware lard tub, decorated around with impressed bead and ribbed patterns and with side handles. This good example is impressed for the manufacturer "A.W Buchan & Co. Portobello Scotland" and to the front in blue type for the supplier of the contents "Irvine R. Stirling Family Grocer, Tea, Wine & Spirit Merchant 2 St. Leonard Street Edinburgh". These lard and butter tubs originally had waxed card lids. This is a very detailed example but it does have a hairline crack to the base but is complete and in good order otherwise.

W. Tonks Brass Thermometer Original, quality late 19th century stunning brass wall household thermometer manufactured by William Tonks & Son of Birmingham. This example the first we have seen of this model, has the glass thermometer mounted on a sheet brass background decorated with cast brass detail of acanthus leaves, swags and the head of Medusa to the top. The face is calibrated in Farenheight 30 to 120 degrees showing Freezing, Temperate, Summer Heat and Blood Heat. The reverse has a wall mounting eye and is impressed with the registration number for the year 1894 and impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son'. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. The best you will see for a long time.

Large Circular Bevelled Wall Mirror Original, quality 1930's / 40's near circular large bevelled wall mirror with a shaped outer frame in birch, a carved panel to the top centre and a replacement ply backboard cut to suit. This larger than average wall mirror does have a blemish to the centre of the mirror glass but otherwise all is complete and in good order.

Gents Top Hat with Card Box Velvet Hat Wipe and Photo of Original Owner Original, quality gentleman's size 7 silk top hat in superb condition with the original card box, velvet brushing pad, wedding photograph of original owner when new in 1913 and other copies of related documents. The box is scruffy hence the hat is near immaculate with only some staining to the inner leather headband. The lining of this hat is detailed for the retailer "Billet & Co Faringdon Road Swindon" and the brushing pad was supplied and detailed as such for Billet & Co. The original sepia wedding photograph taken by "Protheroe & Simons Swindon" shows a William Boucher as the Bridegroom wearing this same hat. The actual photograph is in good order with just some damage to the surround. Two sheets of copies of various documents are also included detailing a potted history of this W. Boucher hat.

Set 3 Brass and Pewter Ale Measures Original, quality, late 19th centry tankard shaped pewter ale measures with side handles and brass top rims. Each is marked to the brss collar accordingly "Half Pint" "Pint and Quart" and to the pewter under the rim. "VR" over "349" and beneath a crown for the reign of Queen Victoria. The half pint has an old but good repair around the base and now all is complete and in good order, with the pewter waxed and the brass polished and lacquered although the lacquered may be remover at no extra cos. A good set of three.

Huge Dixon Pewter Tyg Original, quality late 19th century huge three handled pewter tankard referred to as a 'Tyg'. This super example, the largest we have seen in pewter, has a tapered body with reeded bands to the upper and lower sections, a shaped bottom trim and the underside is impressed with the logo and name for the manufacturer "James Dixon & Son Sheffield". Considering how soft pewter is this example has not a dent or scratch in sight and is complete and in good and working order and huge.

Original, quality pair of heavy gauge and thick cast brass wall mounted Jamb Hooks, these were to be mounted within the larger open chimney breasts one to the left and one to the right. These examples have a vertical acorn shaped finial on each and four countersunk screw holes for mounting. A good find, I rarely see these. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Reservoir Roof Tag & Key Original, quality 18th early 19th century steel door key for a mortice lock with a "Georgian Bow" ring grip, a detailed turning on the stem and the original engraved brass tag detailed "Reservoir Roof". Both this key and tag have been together for many years and are a clean item. Cleaned and waxed and complete and in good and working order.

Ladies Legs Corkscrew Original, quality 1920's folding pocket corkscrew in the naughty form of a pair of Ladies' legs in lace-up boots. The legs fold out to provide the 'T' handle, the legs are creamy pink celluloid, the boots and hinged top are in nickel and the steel corkscrew in the centre is stamped "Registrirt" which is German for "Registered". Complete and in good and working order.

Pullars Dye Works Hanging Enamel Sign Original, quality circa 1900, double sided very clean enamel sign in the original wall hanging wooden frame. This example is detailed to one side "Agent for Pullars Dye Works Perth" in blue and black shadowed letters and to the other "Agent for Pullar's Cleaners & Dyers Perth". Both sides are also detailed in small type with the registration number for the year "1903" and for the maker of the sign "Patent Enamel Co Ltd B'Ham ( for Birmingham ). A couple of very minor chips to the enamel sign, otherwise in mint condition.

Oil Lamp Wick Trimmer Original, quality late 19th century cast iron cutting tool for trimming oil burner wicks. The plier action will operate the blade to cut a curve on a 1.25" wick and providing the blade is sharp it will cut cleanly. Embossed to one handle is U.S. patent manufactured in the U.S.A. A very unusual gadget. Complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality set of late 19th century cast iron grocers' / butchers' shop counter scale in the original paintwork. The ceramic slab, brass pan for the weights, the arms and base of the scale are all marked for the scale maker and shopfitting supplier "Parnall & Sons Ltd of Bristol". The stack of weights are included, with the cast iron ones being embossed again for 'Parnall & Sons'. Some staining to the ceramic slab but all is complete and in good and working order otherwise. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality late 19th century largish cast brass door knocker of the drop loop design with a knocking stud made to suit in brass. This good heavy example has a circular backplate with replacement threaded bars, nuts and washers and the overall design to the front of the knocker is a continual stud decoration. The reverse is also impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1875. All is complete and in good and working order.

3 Piece Antler Handled Steel Carving Set See our "Cutlery" section for current stock of similar items.
Original, quality late 19th century three piece carving set in the original fully fitted honey-coloured oak box. The box is lined with purple silk to the interior of the lid and red velvet to the base. Each tool has a curved stag antler grip mounted with a hallmarked silver ferrule and tip cover. The steel blade of the knife is engraved "Radiant", the two pronged fork has a sprung safety guard, the sharpening steel is impressed "Cast Steel", and the interior of the lid is detailed for the manufacturer "Humprey & Co Sheffield". Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. The linings to the box are a little worn but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.
