Original, quality 1930's / 40's oval cushion shaped pressed tin advertising sign detailing "Simonds Pale Ale" with the hop leaf trademark and "S.B.". This example simulates an oval wooden picture frame with the advert within. The reverse has a black card backing and a small brass chain for hanging. Some minor dents and scuffs to the surface of the front but otherwise complete and in good order. 17.5" x 14" and 0.5" front to back.

Original, quality 1920's white glass advert in the original oak frame promoting "Bass in Bottle". The etched detail to the glass panel is in red and black, the frame is impressed to the top and bottom 'Bass and Co Ltd' although rather faint and the reverse has the remains of an old label still affixed. The reverse also has the original easel type wire stand, for this sign was originally designed to stand on a shelf on the bar backdrop. The wooden backing board is a replacement, but all otherwise is original and in good order. 10.5" x 8.25" x 0.75".

Original, quality late 19th century coppersmith made ale muller of the "Donkey's Ear" design. These mullers were used to warm up ale in the hot coals of the fire. This example has a rolled over seam and top rim, good tinning to the inside and most of all, the maker's name to the shaped side handle "E.J. Walden Banbury". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good order. 10.25", 7" wide including handle and 4" top diam.

Original, quality late 19th century copper ale Muller of the shape referred to as 'Donkey's Ear.' This example has a tinned interior, a pouring lip and a blacksmith made wrought iron side handle with a super curled over end for hanging. A good dovetailed seam is visible down the length. These were placed in the hot coals of an open fire for warming ale. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. Body 9.5" tall and 5.5" top diam. Wrought iron handle 8.5" x 0.75". Total including handle 13.5".

Set of 3 Glazed Doulton Stoneware Barrels B3
Three matching original, quality, mid to late 19th century, two tone saltglazed stoneware sherry/spirit barrels, with applied Coats of Arms to the front. Each barrel has six simulated bands, a hole to the bottom front for a tap and a hole for filling to the top. Impressed "2" to the top surface and "Doulton and Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London" for the manufacturer. All these barrels are identical, with only a variation in the colour of the glaze. Two are perfect and the other has a little crazing to the front and to the applied Coat of Arms, although nothing is missing. A great set of barrels, sold together. Each barrel is 12.5" tall, 10" widest, 8" base diameter and 8.5" top diameter. Price is for the set of three.

The outer rim with three cigarette rests is detailed in gold lines and "With The Compliments of H Weston and Sons Cider Makers, Herefordshire". The reverse has the manufacturer's logo of the world, "Mintons" and "England". Complete and in good order. 5" diameter x 0.5".

Rotary Eclipse Bar Corkpuller CS189
Original, quality, cast brass 'Rotary Eclipse' bar corkpuller, circa 1900 / 1920's, undoubtedly the finest of the bar corkpullers ever manufactured. One wind of the handle, clockwise, will turn the screw into the cork and another turn, anti-clockwise, will draw the cork from the bottle with no effort. The circular base has four countersunk screw holes for mounting to the bar and the cranked side handle has a cylindrical ebony grip. The base also has the remains of the manufacturer's plaque detailing "The Patent Eclipse". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. We rarely find these today and this example, fully overhauled, is complete and in good and working order. Base 4.5" diam, total 16" tall x 7.5" wide including handle and 13" front to back.

This example is bright turquoise blue with two 'Prattware'' panels, an inner transfer decoration to the top rim, a side handle and a very clear "Pint" and "VR" with a crown over "33" Customs Stamp. Although complete and generally in good order, this example is heavily crazed to the base inside and out, has an old short hairline crack to the handle and has a firing fault to the base edge. Most unusual to find a measure in Prattware and this is first we have seen. 4.25" tall, 4" diam and 5.25" wide including handle.

Original, quality, very large ale measure jug in white ceramic with transfer decoration of hops and barley to both sides, a pouring lip and a side handle. The underside is transfer printed in black with the 'Crown Pottery' logo, "Patent Government Stamped Measure, Sole Patentee and Maker, John Tams Longton", "Hop and Barley" and with the registration number for the year 1905. I can not find the custom and excise etched mark, but all is complete otherwise and has the stepped rim around the handle. This jug does have an 1.5" hairline crack to one side of the lip, but no damage or chips otherwise. This eight pint jug is a most unusual example, the largest we have seen. 9" tall, base 8.25" diameter, 10.5" wide including handle and spout.

These urns were used on the counter or bar in the pub, café or hotel, to heat up water and pour into a mug or cup of Bovril extract and were stood on a stove or over a gas ring beforehand to boil the water.
