Cast Iron Cycle Stand C8
Original, quality 1920's, cycle stand. This superb example has a detailed cast iron base in the form of a styalised creature with a lion's head, four clawed feet and is embossed "The Willbro Norwich". These were used to display cycles in shops or exhibitions and would hold the cycle off the floor with the hub resting on the support, the front wheel between the prongs and the main frame clamped in the mount. All has been cleaned and repainted black and is complete and in good and working order. 21" tall x 8.5" wide at base and 15" front to back.

Opening Ceremony Scissors CC136
Pair of original, quality, silver handled scissors used for an opening ceremony in Kingston-Upon- Hull in 1935, in the original shaped and fitted box. The case has a hinged lid, cream silk lining to the lid, black velvet to the base, gold tooled leather cloth to the outer and a gilded commemoration plaque to the top of the hinged lid. The plaque is engraved "Presented to Ald. A. Stark, J.P. and Lord Mayor of Kingston-Upon-Hull on the occasion of the opening by him of Hull's Super Service Station for Automobile Purchases (Hull) Ltd, 10th July 1935". The silver handled scissors are hallmarked for "Birmingham 1934" and engraved with the initials "A" and "S". All is in super condition, the scissors having little use only and the box is in near mint as you can get. What a most unusual opening ceremony. Box 9.25" x 4.25" and 0.75" front to back, scissors 7.5" x 2.25".

Original, quality nickel key to fit the 'AA' Telephone boxes and given to members only from 1919/ 1920. The AA boxes first appeared in 1911 but members only received keys from 1919. The keys used in 1920 were so dated and continued to be issued in this shape until 1921. This clean example has the fretted double "A" and "Property of the automobile association", "1920", to one side and "Shermays Ltd, Cheapside London EC2" to the other and "H and T.V." for the maker of the key, H and T Vaughan of Willdenhall. This example is the first we have seen of this model. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. 2.75" x 1.25".

Original quality late 19th century small oval shaped oil can in tin with brass fittings and a shaped copper spout. The top has a screw off lid with a chain attached, a brass press button to open the spout and a circular brass maker's plate detailed "Whites S.T.V. patent". All has been cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order. 6.5" x 1.5" x 1.5".

Original, quality, 1920's, superb miniature 'Kayes Patent' copper oil can with a screw off top brass cap, a pressure button, a rear looped grip and the long spout. This example is impressed with a 'K' to one side for the manufacturer and 'Meccano' to the underside. A wonderful object, these were included in the boxes of the larger kits of Meccano free of charge. All is polished and lacquered and complete and in good and working order. 1" tall x 4" long x 0.5" wide.

Engraved to the side "Jos Lucas Ltd", "Forced Feed", "No 62" and "Birmingham". The steel has been cleaned and lacquered, the brass polished and lacquered and all is complete and in good and working order. 12.5" long, 3.75" widest and 3.75" tallest.

This super example has a cylindrical body on four ball feet with a circular screw off filler cap to the top, a long tapered and curved spout to the front and a circular rope twist handle with finger rests top and bottom. This is the first we have seen and all is complete and in good and working order. 16" long, 3" wide and 5" tallest.
