	Set of Wells Team Bells B273 Original, quality early 19th century Heavy Horse Road Haulier's set of four Team Bells by Robert Wells the bell founder of Aldbourne in Wiltshire, in the leather belfry cover. The two larger bells are embossed to the inside "R.W" and although the smaller two are not marked these were definitely by the same bell founder. These four bells are mounted under a leather storm cover and on a blacksmith made wrought iron frame with two spikes to the base for fitting into the top of the collar of the leading horse of the team. The more horses you had in the team, the more bells were worn and the louder the noise, which was primarily to warn the next village about the number of horses you were, which related to the size and weight of the load being pulled. It would not be easy to stop or to get going again. This example is complete, be it the leather hood has come adrift and the leatherworks has seen better days, it is still a good find and is mounted into a slab of pitch pine made to suit. This has a super sound when shaken. Close your eyes and listen. Total including stand 20.5" tall. Plinth 21.25" x 8.25" x 1.25". Belfry 20" x 4" front to back. 	Lignum Vitae Chog, 3 available C16 Original, quality, late 19th century, tethering chog turned in lignum vitae, as used to tether single grazing animals i.e. horse, goat or sheep. This would be used with a loose noosed chain or rope to keep the animal from choking. Complete and in good order. Lignum vitae is one of the few, very heavy woods that will not float and is ideal for lathe turning. 3.25" tall. 3.25" diameter. Price is for each. 	Brass on Oak Horseshoe Crib Board CB16 Original, quality late 19th century horseshoe shaped crib board in oak with a drawer to the front and brass mounts to the top. Within the brass "horseshoe" is an engraved brass decoration of three playing cards, the four of hearts, five of clubs and four of diamonds: The pull out drawer to the front for a pack of cards, has a handle in the form of a tiny stirrup. The brass pegs are replacements turned up to suit and all is complete and in good and working order. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 	Walnut Hallway Coat Rack CR91 Original, quality late 19th century wall mounted, walnut coat rack with a horseshoe shaped bevelled mirror to the centre, with five brass hooks beneath and a brass rail above. 	Unused Copper and Brass Horse Singe H66 Original, quality late 19th century brass and copper paraffin fired horse singe. The main brass barrel will unscrew to gain access for filling and the tap controls the flow of fuel to the wick inside the decorative copper attachment. The brass comb is impressed for the maker "T.E. Bladon & Son Ltd B'Ham". Absolutely in mint condition with the original leather washers and wick. 	Leather Side Saddle Stirrup H62 Original, quality late 19th century single leather side saddle stirrup with a steel stirrup frame inside and interesting stamped marks to the underside probably the mark of the harness maker / saddler, great colour and great condition. 	Broadheath Brass Waggon Hub Cover HC4 Original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass hub cap from the axle of a horse drawn waggon or cart. This example is impressed to the top "J. 	Adjustable Tack Cleaning Hook HR144 Original, quality late 19th century blacksmith made adjustable tack cleaning hook with provision to mount to a wooden beam. This unusual example has three prongs to the hook, four adjustments and four countersunk screw holes for mounting. 	Brass Saddle Rack HR142 Original, quality late 19th century all cast brass Tack Room saddle rack. This unusual example, the first we have seen in brass, has a rectangular shaped slightly curved backplate with four countersunk screw holes for wall mounting. The two arms with the larger to the top are on a swinging mount. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. 	Run of Cast Iron Bridle Racks, 3 available HR78 Original, quality, late 19th century, cast iron wall mounted bridle rack with a horseshoe shaped front plate and a brass tack hook to the centre of the backplate. The face to the top has an impressed lozenge shaped registration mark for the year 1864 and the backplate has three countersunk screw holes for mounting. 	Silver Roundlett Coach Key K154 Original, quality silver cased folding carriage door key, Railway or Carriage ? Known an as "roundlett carriage key". This very clean example has a hallmarked two piece silver case with a steel carriage key in the original gilt finish. The hallmarks are a little rubbed, but this item would be circa 1900 and has an engraved monogram. Complete and in good and working order. 3.5" x 5/8" closed. 3.5" x 3" open. 	Horse Measure M284 Original, quality post-war two metre long horse measuring rule with the adjustable marker with a fitted spirit level. All is calibrated in centimetres to one side and 'Hands' to the other. The top of the rule is detailed for the manufacturer "I & D Smallwood Ltd Birmingham England". The spirit level has brass cover plates, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all has been cleaned and fully overhauled. The rule could well be sycamore and the crossbar is in beech and all is complete and in good and working order. Rule 82" x 1.25" x 0.5". Cross brass level 14" x 4.5" x 0.5".
