Original, quality late 19th century set of grocers' / butchers' counter scale with an original stack of seven brass weights 4lb down to 1/2 ounce. This most unusual example has an enamelled white on cast iron body, transfer printed "Avery White Knight" and "to weigh 20lb", a square ceramic slab, transfer decorated with a figure of The Scales of Justice and a circular cast brass tray to take the weights. The stacking weights are the standard number of circular brass ones. The brass has all been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fully overhauled and apart from some very minor chips to the enamel, a little discolouration, complete and in good and working order.Total scale 11" tall x 22" wide plus 11" front to back.Ceramic slab 11" x 10" x 2".Weights 4" tall x 4.5" diam.
