This super, larger than average example, has a white central ceramic button detailed with "Press" in upper case black transfer print and has two countersunk screw holes for mounting. Day and Night Exterior Electric Bell Push
Original, quality 1920's exterior electric "Day" and "Night" brass bell push. Each circular cast brass surround can be mounted individually or as a pair in the picture. One is embossed 'Day Bell' and the other "Night Bell", and both have matching white ceramic central push buttons detailing 'Press' in upper cased black type. Each circular backplate has two countersunk screw holes for mounting and the rectangular plate has four. For use with a 12 volt, low voltage electric supply system. Electric Reading / Side Lamp / Wall Light
Original, quality 1920's continental brass electric combination side lamp and wall light. This unusual example has an embossed design of a laurel wreath to the base and a reeded stem mounted with an adjustable angled bulb holder. Has been rewired with a modern three-core silk-covered flex, a new brass UK bulb holder, in-line switch and a three pin plug. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. Fireproof Safe
Original, quality late 19th century fireproof safe professionally sandblasted and powder coated green and the interior cold painted grey. All has been fully overhauled, the brass fittings are all original with the 'T' bar handle, a Royal Coat of Arms and an embossed surround to the keyhole with a sliding cover. The surround is detailed for the maker "S.F.Turner, Wellington Works, Dudley", "Patent Fire Proof Safe Maker". This safe comes with two keys for the door and one for the inner drawer. The brass is lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and apart from a few scuffs and minor scratches. All is complete and in good and working order.

Scottish Brass Ring Door Pull
Original, quality late 19th century Scottish cast brass door pull in a flat oval ring shape with a replacement circular brass backplate and threaded square steel bar fitted to enable this knob to also operate a standard lock or latch if required. An unusual example. Complete and in good and working order.

Pair of Barlows Patent Brass Candlesticks
Original, quality pair of late 19th century brass candlesticks with a patent adjustable grip and release system for the candlesticks. These most unusual examples have a twist control below the top marked "Barlow's Patent" and are the first we have seen. The undersides on the shaped bases are impressed "285" in a script and all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order.

19" Silver Plated Door Bolt
Original, quality circa 1900, 19" long surface mounted decorative door bolt in the original silver plated finish on brass and with the original keep plate. The bolt backplate has eight countersunk screw holes for mounting and the keep has two. The top end of the bolt and the backplate are decorated and all has an Art Nouveau style. The plating is rubbed in places and shows some bleeding of the yellow brass colour. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

Jefferson Electric Light Fitting
Original, quality moulded glass light bowl circa 1910, manufactured by Jeffersons of Canada for the UK Market and in a thick opalescent colour. This example has the original brass shade holder suspended by three lengths of replacement brass chain and an original brass ceiling rose. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and includes a modern wired brass bulb holder with new three-core silk-covered flex. The top rim of the bowl is embossed "Jefferson 1238" for the manufacturer and all is complete and in good and working order.

Huge Pestle and Mortar
Original, quality late 19th century larger than average composition Pestle and Mortar in very good order. The bowl ( Mortar ) is impressed '12' to the underside for the size and the pestle '10' and the pestle is fitted with the original turned wooden handle. All is complete and in good and working order.

Viking Head Rover Car Mascot
Original, quality chrome plated car mascot in the form of a Viking's head, issued for Rover cars from 1929 and 1939. This model was produced again in 1946, when 2,000 were produced with a radiator cap. This example appears not to have been used and is complete and in good order.

Presentation Trowel
Original, quality unused 1950's silver plated presentation trowel in the original fully fitted box with white satin lining to the lid and Royal Blue velvet to the base. The box is immaculate and has brass catches to the front and a label on the inside for the retailer "Bracher & Sydenham Queen Victoria Street, Reading" and "est 1790". The trowel has the original turned mahogany handle and is ready for engraving, to present or simply as a good cake slice. Complete and in good and working order.

White Horse Whisky Ceramic Match Striker
Original, quality circa 1900, ceramic match striker in the shape of a horseshoe with a blue crocodile skin pattern, a "Good Luck" detail to the front, two white horse logos and an upstand to take an opened matchbox. The underside is detailed with the registration number for the year 1901 and for the maker Shelly, Late Foley, England". Complete and in good and working order.

Hungerford Stoneware Flagon
Original, quality early to mid 19th century large-bellied shaped two tone glazed stoneware flagon with a looped strap handle to the rear and a small pouring aperture at the top. This superb example has a dripping milky glaze look all around the shoulder and most of all it is impressed for the manufacturer of the original contents "Milligan Toms & Mathews, Spirit Merchants Hungerford" and also near the neck for the maker of the flagon "Powell Potter Bristol". All is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality Typists notepad holder in steel with a cast iron base and adjustable height. This unusual example has transfer detail both to the top and base detailing "Balaban the Typist's Necessity, made by Samuel Jones & Co Ltd Bridwell Place London E.C.", and the patent number for 1909 and 1913. Some wear to the transfers but otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Curtis & Harvey Gun Power Tin
Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's flask shaped tin in the original black japanned paintwork with the original push on lid and the original paper label to both sides. One label details "Curtis's & Harvey No 2" with an illustration of hanging game and the other label "The Diamond Grain Gunpowder, made Only by Curtis & Harvey, Hounslow & London & No 2". In super condition and complete and in good order but empty.

Haywards Glass Fire Grenade
Original, quality 1920' moulded amber coloured glass fire grenade, embossed to the front "Haywards hand fire grenade". These grenades were original filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown into a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. This clean albeit empty bottle has no chips or cracks and is complete and in good order otherwise.

11" Brass Door Bolt and Keep
Original, quality late 19th century recessed mounting large cast brass door bolt with a replacement keep plate made to suit. This most unusual door bolt for a huge door has a sliding thumb grip, six countersunk screw holes for mounting and the keep plate has two. Gibbons 18" Brass Door Bolt
Original, quality 19th century heavy cast pink brass surface mounted door bolt with a steel ball top grip a sprung bolt and two replacement keeps made to suit giving the option. This super example has a rectangular shaped backplate with canted corners to the top and six screw holes and each keep has two screw holes. The reverse is impressed "Gibbons Wolverhampton" for the manufacturer. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order. A beautiful door bolt no question. Another very similar brass door bolt may well be available ref code: DB551.

Original, quality pair of 1940's / 50's sheet brass tread plates to the door sills from an AC Car. Each plate has ten countersunk screw holes for mounting, and each is embossed. "Coachworks by A.C. Cars Thames Ditton, Surrey, England". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and apart from a few minor scuffs and some discolouration. All is complete and in good order.

Brass Electric Desk Lamp
Original, quality 1920's bankers' electric desk / reading lamp with a replacement green overlaid on white glass trough shade. This example is manufactured by "G.E.C" ( The General Electric Company ). Has been wired with a modern three core silk covered flex, a new brass UK bulb holder, in-line switch and a three pin plug. The base has a heavy counter balance weight beneath the brass cover. This lamp can be adjusted back and forward and the shade will tilt. Also has been fully overhauled, the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Patent Folding Brass Coatrack
Original, quality mid 19th century folding brass travelling / campaign coatrack with ten brass hooks fitted to twelve flat, brass clad on steel rails which will open and close to adjust and fit a given wall space. Has two wall mounting screw plates to the top and the bar is stamped "Walkers Patent 1864". This very clean example has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

Brass Travelling Hat and Coat Rack
Original, quality late 19th century "fold flat" tubular brass wall mounted coatrack of a usual shape. This elegant example is designed to be carried in one's suitcase and will unfold to hang on a hook on the wall. The backplate has three fold down coat hooks with the centre one having both a hat and coat hook, each have a shaped finial. The backplate has an impressed registration lozenge mark for 1842 to 1863, all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

RSPCA 1926 Merit Badge
Original, quality "RSPCA Merit Badge" for the "London Van Horse Parade" in 1926. This good example has the original nickel-plated lead, Royal Crown embellishment and is mounted on an old leather backing and strap with a brass buckle. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order.

Set of 3 Brass Ale Measures
Original, quality set of three matching late 19th century pink brass ale measures, comprising quart, pint and half-pint. Each is impressed under the top rim with a customs stamp for the Reign of Queen Victoria and has a loop tankard shaped handle to the side. Some have minor repairs to the bodies. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good order.

Copper Fire Extinguisher
Original, quality 1920's / 30's all copper cylindrical fire extinguisher with embossed brass labels to the front and cast brass fittings, the top cap, the hose mount and a handle to the reverse. The labels detail, "John Kew & Co 8 South Parade, Manchester England", "The Underwriters Fire Extinguisher, to play turn bottom up, to stop turn back" and "Charging Directions" in detail. The rubber hose is missing and the base ring has some dents, otherwise all is in good order but not suitable for re-use. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Robert Wells Handbell
Original, quality early 19th century cast brass handbell with the original, cast brass internal clapper, brass ferrule and fruitwood handle. Although this bell is not marked for the foundary of Robert Wells of Aldbourne in Wiltshire it is marked "8" for the size to the shoulder in the style used by Wells and the shape of the fruitwood handle is definately for Rbt Wells. Cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order with a good tone and resonance.

Three matching original, quality late 19th century Scottish copper ale measures in the 'Thistle' shape each with a deep foot, a tubular side handle, a customs stamp and detailed "1 pint", "half pint" and "gill". The interiors have remains of the original tinning, the exteriors have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order.

Honour & Liberty Bowl
Original, quality white ceramic bowl manufactured in 1914 the beginning of the First World War. This super bowl is decorated to the outside with two pictures of four flags of the Allies, one laurel wreath with "God Save The King" and line drawing illustrations of "HMS Lion", "HMS Iron Duke" and three early aircraft. The underside is detailed with the registration number for the year 1914 and for the manufacturer "Chelson China of England". Complete and in good order.

Large Whistling Copper Kettle
Original, quality large circular copper kettle circa 1900 / 1920's. This most unusual kettle, the first we have seen, has a semi spherical shape with a turned wooden grip, a brass whistle in the lid, good tinning to the interior and a brass makers plate detailing "Albert E. Bishop Ltd, Metal Exchange Bldgs. London EC2". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is in superb condition and in good and working order.

Large Gold Witches Ball
Original, quality late 19th century large sized spherical shaped gold coloured, glass witches ball. These were originally used to mirror the light around a room in the days when candle, oil or firelight was the only source of light other than naturally through the windows. These objects later acquired their superstitious properties of scaring away evil spirits and witches if you are superstitious. Originally these were free blown and silvered to the inside with an early mercury silvering and a small brass disc and ring were fitted for these to be suspended with. These were made in a huge range of sizes and colours but are not easy to find these old original ones today. All is complete and in good and working order.

Brass Door Knocker
Original, quality late 19th century heavy cast brass door knocker of the drop loop design with a deep embossed "balloon" design to both the backplate and knocker. Replacement threaded rods, nuts and washers have been fitted and the top hinge has been replaced made to suit. The reverse is impressed with a very clear registration lozenge mark for the year 1873. A great brass door knocker of a substantial weight the first we have seen of this model. Complete and in good and working order.

Brass Bound Bentwood Pulse Measure
Original, quality 1920's half pint bentwood pulse measure as used by corn and seed merchants. This most unusual example is brass bound to the top and bottom rims and to the underside and is impressed "Half Pint", "GR" beneath a crown with similar marks to the inside. This example also has a zinc liner, the first we have seen ! Did these bentwood measures always have zinc liners to start with ? ? The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and the wood cleaned and waxed, with no worm damage. Complete and in good order.

W&T Avery 7lb Ceramic Weight
Original, quality late 19th century Grocers' or Butchers' shop counter weight in white ceramic in the shape of a "cottage loaf". This large example has some damage to the reverse under the top grip which could be restored but otherwise all is complete and in good order. These ceramic weights were only in use for a very short period and were made illegal in 1903 or thereabouts. This 7lb version has a band of green decoration around the lower rim, a ribbon swag to the shoulder with details for the manufacutrer "W&T Avery Birmingham", good wear marks to the underside and the original lead infill to the base. With the exception of the damage to the reverse the rest is in super condition and complete.

Steel Mesh and Brass Fender
Original, quality late 19th century extra long steel meshed fender with brass trims to the top and bottom. The diagonal shaped steel mesh has been cleaned and repainted black and the brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order.

Pair of Avery Ceramic 4lb & 2lb Weights
Original, quality pair of late 19th century W&T Avery ceramic grocers' / butchers' counter weights. These weights were only in use for a very short period and were made illegal in 1903 or thereabouts. These examples are transfer decorated in green with "Imperial" and "4lb" or "2lb" to the top and "W&T Avery Ltd Birmingham" in ribbon swags to the front. These are as near mint condition as you could hope for with just one miniscule blemish to the top of the "4lb" very near to "Imperial". The lead infills used to counterbalance to the true weights are present and more than that, they are both stamped in the lead with an identical customs and excise mark, 'VR' for the Reign of Queen Victoria over "572" and beneath the Crown for Queen Victoria. A wonderful pair of weights the best I have seen and complete. These were made by Wedgewood although not marked as such.

Red Deer Slot Mount
Original, quality Red Deer Slot ( Hoof ) mounted on a good shaped shield with an ivorine label to the front detailing "D & S. S. H. 15. 08. 70. Bumble" and a paper label to the reverse for the Taxidermist "Hunting Trophies The Grange, Lapford, Crediton, Devon". A late but very clean mount in good order.

H.M.S Tiger Brass Inkstand
Original, quality 1930's inkstand in the original "bronzed" brass finish in the form of a gun turret with twin guns on a turn table base. The hinged lid to half of the top reveals two nickel plated inkwells and the underside of the lid is embossed "cast from metal ex - H.M.S. Tiger", "dismantled 1932" and for the maker "Thomas W. Ward Ltd Albion Works, Sheffield". Some discolouration to the finish otherwise complete and in good and working order and the first we have seen. This can be polished to shiny brass on request, for no extra cost.

Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's large spherical shaped brass jardiniere of a very plain form with just a reeded band of detail around the body two thirds up. The underside has the maker's logo and "British Make". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Some fatigue to the top rolled outer rim, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century all brass Veterinary all brass animal enema syringe. This super quality item has two finger grips plus another for the plunger and a maker's plate with the Royal Crest and "Arnold & Son 35 & 36 West Smithfield London". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good order.

A W Neate Enamel Sign
Original, quality pre-war double sided enamel sign with a mounting flange with four screw holes for "Bus Stop" style wall mounting. This example is near perfect to the one side but with some surface damage to the other, nevertheless, a very clean and bright sign with black text on white, detailing "To Be Sold Agents A.W. Neate & Sons Newbury & Hungerford. Complete and in good order otherwise.

Brass on Oak Horseshoe Crib Board
Original, quality late 19th century horseshoe shaped crib board in oak with a drawer to the front and brass mounts to the top. Within the brass "horseshoe" is an engraved brass decoration of three playing cards, the four of hearts, five of clubs and four of diamonds: The pull out drawer to the front for a pack of cards, has a handle in the form of a tiny stirrup. The brass pegs are replacements turned up to suit and all is complete and in good and working order. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A great cribbage board, the first we have seen in this form.

Brass Framed Bevelled Wall Mirror
Original, quality late 19th century oval shaped bevelled wall mirror with an "Art Novueau" hammered brass cladding with four decorative embellishments. The reverse has the original backing board and all is in super condition with a spotless mirror glass. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order and can be hung either vertical or horizontal.

Cast Iron Exterior Bell Pull
Original, quality late 19th century cast iron exterior bell pull with a hexagonal-shaped knob fitted to the front of a flat cast iron backplate with a fretted design. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Replacement rear springs and washers have been fitted. We do not find many exterior bell pulls in cast iron. This example has an indistinct makers name to the reverse " ? & Son London". Fully overhauled, cleaned and repainted black and complete and in good and working order.
