Original, quality late 19th century brass framed firescreen with a mirror panel with a painted floral design of poppies. The brass feet extend to the back and front. The top has a carrying handle with an ebony grip, the reverse of the mirror is covered in a thick sheet of lead and the brass has an Art Nouveau style. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra. Two small surface chips to the glass just below the handle, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality mid 19th century very unusual Toleware firescreen. This super example has much of the original gilt decoration on the black japanned finish and even more special is the curved glass panel to the centre with its back decoration of gilt detail and abalone shell fragments. The front has a ribbed brass knob in the original unpolished finish. The reverse has most of its original black japanned finish and its wrought iron mounting bracket but sadly the makers' plaque is missing but the evidence of where it was is very obvious. This was most probably manufactured by Pontipool. Complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality white ceramic biscuit box in the form of a chest of drawers manufactured expressly for Huntley & Palmer Biscuits of London & Reading in 1905. This example is one of a series of twelve china 'casket' shapes decorated to simulate a chest of drawers. Each lid was decorated with a different nursery rhyme by the artist / illustrator Walter Savage Cooper 1863 / 1943. This example has a picture to the top of the lid entitled "Little Tom Tucker, sang for his supper", the underside of the lid has a panel detailing "Huntley & Palmer Biscuit Reading & London" and "Copyright Nursery Rhymes" and the underside of the base has the Royal Doulton Mark and the registration number for the years 1905 / 1906. Some rubbing to the green lines to the top rim of the body section consistent with general use, otherwise in mint condition with no chips or blemishes and complete, although the lid is original, it does not fit snugly. Otherwise all complete and in good order. Another identical biscuit box may be well available ref code: BB35.

Original, quality late 19th century servants intercom bell with brass mounts steel springs and a central brass boss. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system and can be pulled from either left or right. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock and other similar bells may be available on request. Often now referred to as 'Downton Abbey' bells. The interior of this example is embossed "1.B" for James Bridgman Bell founder of Devizes in Wiltshire. The ironwork has been repainted, and the brass polished and lacquered and all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality two gallon petrol can with the original brass screw on cap. This example is impressed to the back and front "Carburine Motor Spirit" and to the top "Not Returnable", "Glico Petroleum Spirit". The brass cap is impressed "Carburine" and although this can has two or three pin holes to the side. All is complete and in good order otherwise. These cans were often fitted to the running boards of the earlier motor vehicles and were generally in use from 1910 to say 1940's. We have cleaned the can and lacquered it, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. This is the first we have seen complete and in reasonable condition.

Original, quality late 19th century cast brass bracket for a clockwork spit ( bottle jack ). This super example has a shaped backplate with four countersunk screw holes for mounting below the mantel shelf. The bracket arm has a ratchet type of fitting for the spit and a dove motif the to top, this arm when projected out was locked into the square hole for safety and the spit and meat would be suspended out and in front of the fire not directly over it and when not in use the arm would be put back against the mantel board and locked in the square hole again for safety. Suitable brass 'bottle jack' spits are often available in this section, if not, do ask. The brass backplate and handle are embossed with an "Arts & Crafts" form of Ivy leaves and the reverse cast iron mounts are impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son of Birmingham'. All is complete and in good and working order with the original linked chain for the wire connection. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality pair of late 19th century cast brass interior bell pulls with turned boxwood central bosses and knobs to the pull handles. This model has brass signal arms to the reverse and has sprung return handles. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1930's brass cased railway steam gauge with a glass panel to the dial and three bolt holes to the back flange for mounting. The dial is calibrated 1 to 100lbs per sq inch and is detailed for B.R. ( M ) British Rail ( Midland ). The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order.

Original, quality post-war three piece cruet set in cube form, advertising "Guinness for you" and a half pint glass of guinness alternating to the four sides. This set comprising a salt, a pepper and a mustard pot with lid, each marked to the underside for the maker "Carlton Ware and "Made in England, Trademark". Each has a plastic bung to the underside. The pepper and mustard pot are perfect but the salt has a hairline crack to one side or a scratch ? it's difficult to determine, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.

This super example in the original finish has a locking glazed door and the original supplier's paper label to the reverse for "Rowland Ward The Jungle Piccadilly" and a full set of the original mahogany knobs. Some minor scruffs and marks to the finish otherwise complete and in good and working order.
