Original, quality mid 19th century good sized cast brass "doctors'" door knocker with a later matching knocking plate made to match. This style of door knocker was referred to as a "Doctors' knocker" for many of the village Manor Houses in the Georgian period were the residences of Professional Gents Doctors, Dentists, Solicitors and similar. This example has the original wrought iron bolt, nut and knuckle joint and the original circular backplate. All is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's square brass electric hall lantern with a split domed top and a serious art nouveau design. Each side has a curved roof section with a pierced design and a glazed panel with an interwoven art nouveau design. The top ring, and length of brass chain are replacements as are the textured glass panels. The ceiling rose is an old one. A most unusual lantern rewired with modern three core silk covered flex and a new brass UK bulb holder. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's four branch brass hanging electric light fitting in a serious Art Nouveau style. Has been rewired with modern three core flex and new brass UK bulb holders. The original brass ceiling rose, and a length of replacement brass chain is included. All has been fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality mid to late 19th century rectangular shaped white enamelled letterbox front from an all wooden wall mounted letterbox manufactured by James Ludlow 24 Albion St Birmingham. This fairly scruffy but early and rare to find letterbox plate is detailed in black 'VR' and the crown for the Reign of Queen Victoria. "Post Office Letter Box" above and below the aperture and a notice to the lower section regarding an extra fee if the envelope contains coins. The edges all round are chipped but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order and with six screw holes for mounting.

Original, quality late 19th century circular brass dinner gong on a brass table mount. This unusual example has the gong with a beaten finish suspended within a brass frame with an ebony 'T' handle to the top and all mounted on a weighted pedestal base with the beater on two mounts to the front. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Has a good tone and resonance and is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century tall leaded glazed window in the original wooden frame. This super example was originally fitted on the half landing on the stairwell of a local manor house in the Newbury area and has varied range of pale colours of red, blues and green in square section and diamond pattern. Some minor damage with cracks in the glass but no panes missing. So complete with the good solid original wooden frame in the old paint.

Gibbons were one of several Iron Founders in Hungerford Berkshire and manufactured Farm Machinery and fencing and all manner of cast iron items. This example has four countersunk screw holes for mounting, has been cleaned and lacquered to the front and is complete and in good order.

Original, quality nickel plated letter opener / paper knife issued to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V in 1935. This fine example has a grip of Royal Blue enamel with a cameo to each side of The King & Queen and all surmounted with a crown. The blade has engraved initials of the previous owner "W.H" and doe have a minor kink to the tip. Complete and in good order.

Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's conical shaped dairy can, we think ? and probably continental. This super example has a zinc outer skin with wide brass bands, brass 'D'shaped handles, a pressed sheet brass dome shaped lid to the top and a working brass tap to the front. The interior is in tin and the underside has an inset wooden floor. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Some very minor dents, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Ceramic Bidet Liner
Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, kidney shaped, white ceramic bidet liner, decorated to the inside with well detailed illustrations of flowers, leaves, birds and insects to include moths, beetles, dragonflies and butterflies. The detail is in various pastel colours, with gilt highlights. The outer edge of the pan has a gilded line and this and some of the illustrations are a little rubbed, but all is complete and in superb order otherwise, with not a chip or crack in sight. The underside is impressed "F and M & Co", probably for the maker 'Frances Morley and Co, Hanley, Staffordshire Potteries 1845 to 1858'.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, superb interior bell pulls with amber coloured glass circular backplates and pull knobs, all with circular brass collars, steel plates to the reverse and brass mounting fittings. This is the first we have seen of this model and is for use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock and many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Fully overhauled, in superb condition, not a chip or crack in sight and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's large pineapple shaped hanging electric lamp fitting with a cranberry coloured glass shade acid etched to each side "Reid Chemist". This glass shade originally hanging in 'Reids The Chemists Window in their Oxford Branch', has been fitted with a brass shade holder made to suit, a new electric bulb holder wired with replacement silk covered, three core flex, an old brass ceiling and a length of new brass replacement chain. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Shade and holder 16.5" tall.

Original, quality unused late 19th century cast iron exterior bell pull in the original bronzed lacquer finish. The spherical shaped pull knob is mounted within a circular dished backplate with a pierced outer frame. This example is impressed to the exterior of the dish for the manufacturer "A Kenrick and Son"of West Bromwich. For use with a tight wire, non electric bell system and other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock and many other bell fittings of differing types may well be available. Replacement rear spring and washers have been fitted. All is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century cast iron floor grilles from over an underfloor heating system in a large commercial greenhouse, originally from "Benham Valance House" on the Sutton Estate Nr Hungerford in Berkshire. Sutton Estate was owned by the "Sutton Seed Empire". These grilles have an intricate pierced design, flat on one side and in relief to the other. The casting has super detail and probably manufactured by Coalbrookdale Iron Foundry. Complete and in good order. Ideal for floor grilles again or used as a coffee table. Other grilles of the same design but of a different size may well be available ref code: FG2.

Original, quality mid to late 19th century huge country house pestle and mortar. This super example has a circular white composition 'marble' mortar set into the top of a heavy sycamore tree trunk base, with three square-ish section legs. The top of the trunk has a blacksmith made wrought iron band fitted to allow for shrinkage. The trunk has been well worm treated and all is good and solid and heavy. This original pestle has been with mortar for generations according to the family and has an ash shaft and a lignum vitae head. All is complete and in good and working order and very suitable for use if required. Another very similar can be seen in the kitchens at Hampton Court Palace.

Original, quality post 1953 'Post Office' lamp post or telegraph pole mounted Letter Box with a cast iron front mounted to a steel body. The front is embossed "Post Office" above the large letter slot and "ER II" with a crown for Queen Elizabeth the Second. The hinged door beneath has a mint condition enamelled "times of collection plate" and a smaller plate detailing "468 Good Friday". A replacement lock with two keys has been fitted and the whole body has been stripped and re-painted in letterbox Red. All is complete and in good and working order.

This super example is decorated in green transfer printing with "Imperial 2.lb." to the top, a decorative band around the bottom of the sides and a ribbon swag to the front detailing the manufacturer W&T Avery Birmingham. The underside has retained its lead infill. Some light staining to the upper surface, but otherwise complete and in good order.

Original, quality 1920's large horizontal rectangular shaped advertising mirror in the original frame. This bright clean mirror has a few scratches from behind the glass, all to the lef hand side and visible in the pictures and details "Fry's Chocolate" and "Makers to T.M. The King & Queen" and "to H R H The Prince of Wales". The Royal Coat of Arms and Prince of Wales Crest are both in large illustrations. The oak frame has two old screw holes, which have been plugged and finished and is impressed for the maker "J.S Fry & Sons Ltd". A replacement plywood backing board has been fitted on the top of the original one and now all is complete and in good order.

Original, quality late 19th century matching set of six steel dinner knives and six dinner forks with Antler handles and circular steel caps to the handles. The knife blades are etched for the manufacturer "Joseph Haywood & Co Sheffield" and with the 'Kettle' logo. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. Original, quality, late 19th century, photograph frame with a deep relief decoration of cherubs and putti in various poses on plants and vines, surrounding the glazed area. This frame wil take standard cabinet sized photographs. The top of the frame has a hanging loop in the form of a ribbon swag and the reverse has a folding easel stand. The main frame is in cast spelter with the original brass coloured finish and in superb detail and condition and complete and in good order. The best spelter frame we have seen.

Original, quality mid-19th century large tapered copper ale jug, with a good side handle, a pouring lip and a flanged rim to the base. The concaved underside has retained a super unpolished patina and colour and the exterior has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A few dents to the handle, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 19th century square shaped stone block fitted with a blacksmith made wrought iron tethering ring. Used to tethering livestock. The ring is mounted in lead to prevent the wrought iron rusting and splitting the stone block.

Original, quality buff coloured stoneware hot water filled hand warmer with the original screw in stopper, wire handle and wooden grip. The front of this super miniature hot water bottle is detailed in black transfer print "The adaptable hot water bottle for muff or pocket, made at the old Fulham pottery" and with the registration number for the year 1904. Complete and in super condition, but I cannot unscrew the stopper it appears to be sized; otherwise all is complete, in good order and a real beauty. 4" tall with handle down.

Original, quality 1920's large, impressive framed and glazed fretwork of "The Lords Prayer". This unusual example has a fretted oak frame and a fretworked prayer in several styles of types, a few different brown colours and blue and white against a tin foil background, all behind a clear glazed panel. Some minor parts missing in the frame, the backing has been repapered and some very minor damage in places to the fretwork otherwise all generally in good order and complete. The reverse has been repapered.

Original, quality post-war bright and clean double sided enamel sign detailing "Thames Valley Bus Stop" and "Queue This Side" to one side and "Queue Otherside" to the other, all in red on white. This example has a flange all round and four of the original mounting bolts. Some chips to the enamel around the mounting holes but none to the red and white areas. Complete and in good order.
