A very clean weight and not easy to find anything above 7lbs. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good order.

One side is calibrated in feet and inches and the other in Links and Poles. Complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's oak and oak veneered floor standing filing cabinet with five slide out trays with open fronts and a 'tambour' shutter. The key will release the shutter from top to bottom, and the shutter will push shut and lock without the key. All in the original finish and complete and in good and working order. A brass retailer's plate is fixed to the reverse for "Cooke's of Finsbury Ltd". Complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality, late 19th century blue decorated on white ceramic bedpan, transfer to the underside for the manfacturers S.Maw Son and Thompson, London, trade mark England". The detailed design incorporctes all manner of insects including dragonflies, beatles, butterfiles grasshoppers and insects, everytime you look more become apparent . One small chip to the inner rim otherwise all is complete and in good order. The frist we have had and a real beauty if you say that about a bedpan!

Original, quality, circa 1900, leather cartridge bag to hold 75 shotgun cartridges with leather side mounts with brass fittings and the original adjustable webbing shoulder strap. The mount to the front strap is impressed 'F.R.A' for the previous owner and the reverse is impressed '75' for the capacity. This example is in super condition with no wear to the piped edges on the bag or to the interior lining. A smart general use, shoulder bag for both men or women or a good cartridge carrier. All is complete and in good and working order and the brass can be polished for no extra charge on request.

Each backplate has four countersunk screw holes for mounting, and the reverse is impressed for the manufacturer "Gibbons Wolverhampton". Good sized pair of turning handles for this octagonal shape, complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century square sheet brass box with two hinged lids. The larger lid opens to reveal six square copper bowls originally with tinned interiors and each bearing the stamp for "Jones Bros 4 Down Street London" the manufacturer/supplier. The small lid opens to reveal one long copper bowl similar to those smaller and a circular steel grater for nutmeg or other similar solid spices. The interior of the cabinet is again stamped for Jones Bros, the underside of the lids are tinned, and the upper surface of the lid has the faint engraved detail of a monogram of three or four letters. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A most unusual cabinet we hope we have entitled it correctly if not please tell us.

Original, quality 1920's brass letter opener, with a very detailed copper handle all in the oriental style. The scimitar shaped blade is engraved with various sea fish and creatures and the copper grip is embossed with the most highly detailed assortment of sea creatures in deep relief. The main base could be a ' Coelacanth ', with a lobster and other fish to one side and an octopus and other fish to the other side, I cannot emphasize the detail enough. All has been cleaned and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's unused bentwood corn measure in unbelievable mint condition, as clean as the day it was made. Not a split or a worm hole. This example is branded with a 'GR' custom and excise mark with a Kings Crown between and '587' beneath, to the front above "Half Bushel" and to the inside floor. All has been cleaned, waxed and really is the best we have seen and indeed the best you could ever find. Complete and in mint condition.

Miniature Kitchen Range
Miniature Kitchen Range
Original, quality 1920's superb miniature kitchen range, probably manufactured in Germany for the UK Market. This exciting all original example made in tin has retained the original black paintwork with silver painted coach lining and nickel plated top rail and over doors. The hinged doors with catches conceal the methylated spirit burners and the flue pipe to the rear is a push in fit. The five nickel plated on brass cooking pots are complete and usable although with minor dents and with most of the plating worn off. The kettle has a folding handle with a black painted wooden grip, the chocolate pot has the original turned wooden handle and a replacement twizzle stick and the oval shaped stockpot has a replacement tap fashioned from an old champagne tap. Again all is complete and in working order, but of course the ovens are only for the spirit burners to heat the top of the range.

Original, quality late 19th century superb single candle coach lamp with the original bracket. This example is grander than most and would have been used on a Landau or a liveried coach rather than a wagon or gig etc. The two larger shaped bevelled glass panels are separated with three slim panels, each having copper beaded edges. The interior is in nickel plate, as is the candle tube / grip and the decorative most to the top and mount is bleeding through to the copper. The candle holder to the inside is stamped "John and Hen Lowe". All is complete and in good and working order and in superb condition throughout. The black metalwork has been cleaned and repainted and the nickel plated and copper mounts have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Huge Chubb Rim Lock

Original, quality mid 19th century wrought iron surface mounted door lock with the original keep and key and a super manufacturers brass plaque to the front detailing "Chubb and Son Makers to Her Majesty" and "Chubbs Patent, 57 St Pauls Churchyard London". Will take a standard modern square bar for the handles. This lock has the provision for a handle turn, a key lock and a security slide on the inside of the room, which overrides the handles and the key lock. This superb example has seven levers and a very smooth action despite its age and size, only to be expected from this top lock manufacturer. The original key is marked for Chubb and the ring grip has had repairs over the years. All has been cleaned and lacquered and fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. Originally fitted to the door of a Barclays Bank.

Coco De Mer
Coco De Mer
Original, quality pre-war 'Coco de Mer' seed pod with a cut and hinged top section having been converted to a carrier or container and fitted with hand made brass hinges with copper rivets. These pods were the seed of a palm tree growing exclusively on the Seychelles Islands and were often carved and decorated by the natives during the 19th century and carried back to Europe by the sailors. These seed pods aliken to a double coconut often floated at sea to far off continents. Although cut and hinged and with two holes drilled to the other side all is in super condition. These are hard to find today.

Original, quality late 19th century forged steel small spade with a long steel neck and plates mounted on an ash shaft with a 'T' bar handle. The spade is impressed "Black" for the blacksmith "Forge" and has two cut outs to the top for pulling tree roots away. These spades were used to dig out a Ferret that had gone to ground. Has been cleaned and varnished for display but a good condition ready for use if wanted.

Will take a photo 6" x 4.25" with 5.5" x 4.75" visible from the front. Complete and in good and working order. Unusual for this model to be copper.

Original, quality 1920's / 30's, large cast brass plaque detailing "Postal Orders, Pensions and Allowances" to one side and "P.O. PSNS. & ALLCES" to the other in inlaid white enamel upper cased text. This plaque is in the old unpolished 'bronze' colour, but can be polished back to the pink brass on request at no extra cost. This sign would have been slotted in above a teller on a post office counter and the abbreviated version to the reverse was for the tellers information. A super clean sign of great quality, complete and in good order.

Original, quality 1920's two colour glazed stoneware "Holborn Foster Mother". This example shaped like a water filled footwarmer is used to suckle piglets or similar when not suitable for the mother to do so. Rubber teats would be fitted and the tank filled with the required liquid food. One neck is chipped otherwise all is in good order and only needing the teats to be complete.

Original, quality late 19th century brass intercom bell with brass mounts, steel springs, two decorative brass bosses and a swinging room number. This most unusual example can be pulled from either left or right and is for use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system, with other parts required to operate this system usually available in stock. Often now referred to as 'Downton Abbey' bells. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. The ironwork has been repainted, and the brass polished and lacquered. Other similar bells may be available on request. The white ceramic (pendulum) will continue swinging as an indicator long after the bell has stopped ringing and the '64' has been painted on and can be removed or changed with ease. Fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century pierced brass fender with a sheet steel floor, three brass lions paw feet to the front, the original side poker stands and the original matching brass fire irons comprising: shovel, tongs and poker. All six pieces, the fender and the fire irons are all the original matching with the same shaped finials. The steel floor has been cleaned and repainted black and all the brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The shovel is pierced to sift through the embers and put back onto the fire all but the ash.

Original, quality 1920's brass and copper food warmer / hotplate for the dining table. This super example has a lift out copper top on an art nouveau brass frame, with two methylated spirit burners beneath with decorative frames, wick controls and covers all standing on six black ceramic bun feet. The top tray has a dimpled finish and the burners, with their own stands can be used away from the whole hotplate, if so desired. Both the copper trays are impressed " British make ". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order. A serious Art Nouveau item, a great looker and very usable.

Set of four late 19th century square two tone stoneware spirit flasks in the original fitted basket. Each flask has a strap handle with a decorative mount at the end, the original brass mounted cork in the original colour, an impressed lozenge mark for the year 1877 and the name of the original contents "Scotch Whiskey", "Irish Whiskey", "Gin" and "Brandy". The flasks are all perfect and complete but the basket is a little shakey and the worst for wear.

Each flask 8" tall including stopper plus 3.5" square.

Original, quality 1920's wall mounted cast brass on oak dinner gong. This example has a cast brass horses head with a brass horseshoe surround mounted on an oval shaped honey coloured light oak backboard with an old brass handled beater sitting on two brass hooks above. The circular brass gong is suspended from behind the ears of the horse and has a textured front. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order with a good tone and resonance.

Original, quality set of four matching 1920's / 30's cast brass electric wall lights of the flaming torch form, referred to as cinema lights. This super heavy quality set of four lights are impressed to the reverse of the backplates "GEC" for the General Electric Company, "A578" and "Made in England". Each backplate has four screw holes for mounting, although we have added a bar to the reverse to hook over a screw or similar if needed, this is easily removed if not wanted. The flame shaped shades are probably the originals if not, they are a good set. All have been rewired with modern three core silk covered flex and new brass UK bulb holders.Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's brass electric desk lamp with the original but repainted steel trough shade. This super example has a tapered tubular stem mounted on a circular base with a heavy cast iron weight underneath. Has been rewired with modern three core silk covered flex, a new brass UK bulb holder, in-line switch and a three pin plug. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality small enamel sign advertising "Hudsons Soap" with the cycle lamp logo and beam of light. This most unusual example is bright and glossy but it does have chips to the edges and around the four screw holes. The lower edge is printed for the sign manufacturer "Stainton & Hulme Ltd Birmingham" and "3/05" for 1905 the year of manufacture.

Ten matching original quality 1920's brass hat and coat hooks with white ceramic finials all mounted on two matching mahogany backboards made to suit. Each hook has a plain tubular stem on a shaped backplates each with four countersunk screw holes for mountin and have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fix to wall by removing the end hooks, use the holes provided, then refit the coat hooks to conceal the wall screws. Complete and in good and working order.

Backboard 35.5" x 5.5" x 0.75" each.

Total 9.5" tall x 6.25" front to back each.

Original, quality early to mid 19th century cast brass door knocker of a super Georgian design with the original wrought iron bolts cast in. The elegant front has a drop loop knocker, with a shell shape behind, a shaped stem above and a flat plate for engraving if required. The hexagonal nuts are replacements, but all the rest is original and complete and in superb working order. One of the finest brass door knockers we have seen.

Original, quality, late 19th century, wrought iron and copper three tier cakestand stamped to the underside "Acanthus" for the pattern, "Townshend and Co" for the maker and with the registration number for the year 1891. This super example has three copper trays graduated in size and shape all with a rolled wavy outer gallery and an overall impressed abstract pattern. The larger lower tray is circular, the middle kidney shape and the upper a small oval. The blacksmith made wrought iron stand has three legs with curled over feet, twisted supports and decoration and a basket grip handle to the top. All has been cleaned / polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A most unusual cakestand in the Arts and Crafts style.

Original, quality 1920's / 30's double sided enamel directional arrow detailing 'Telephone' in red upper cased text on cream, with a red border all round. This sign, in mint unused condition, has two holes to the top for mounting on a bracket and is as clean and bright as the day it was made. Two minuscule chips only and complete.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass mantel ornaments in the form of two greyhounds, one facing left and the other to the right. One is detailed to the lower front in upper cased embossed text "Col. North's Fullerton" and the other "Farndon Farry". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and are complete and in good order.
