Brass on Cast Iron Number Plates HN32 Original, quality cast iron shaped backplates with applied brass numbers. The reverse of the backplates are impressed with the registration number for the year 1906. Much of the original black paint has remained and all has been cleaned and lacquered. Pair of Chromed Chubb Plaques NP270 Pair of original, quality 1920's / 30's chrome on brass plaques originally on a "Chubb Fire Cabinet". Rainhill Asylum Memorial Plaque P14 Original, quality late 19th century engraved brass plaque with red and black infilled letters mounted in the original honey coloured oak frame with a carved decorated inner mount. The mount is stamped to the lower right corner for the maker or supplier "Blain & Son Liverpool" and the plaque is detailed "Erected by the Committee of Visitors of Rainhill Asylum In Memory of 'Randle Cooke Lewis' who for nearly 46 years faithfully discharged the duties of Clerk & Steward. Nov 1896. Wm Scott Barret Chairman". Although some of the red and black infill is breaking up and some has dropped out all are otherwise complete and in good order. An insight to the Social History in 1896.
